  • BLACK CROWS ATRIS: The Best Skis Ever
I finally skied some steeps, finally enough snow as well.
I have to say, this is the best pair of skis I have ever skied on in my life, except maybe for the Olin Ballet skis I had in the 70's ;)
I am still looking for a pair of those in 140cm.
    Atris
Here is the third edition of this iconic blackcrows ski which first appeared in 2014.
For this new 2022 version, here it is very slightly refined, to further gain in accessibility and versatility. It's really the everyday big mountain ski, for skiers who like it when it excels in powder but who want irreproachable behavior in all conditions. The edge has been revised and can distinguish it from its ancestors for the discerning eye, but the essential is played inside, for a ski that achieves its objectives and delights the hearts of the most demanding.
    Profile
Good lift: 105mm at the skate
Double rocker: great maneuverability, control, pivot
Medium classic camber: classic camber underfoot with intermediate ski/snow contact, balance between seat and maneuverability
Slightly taut sidelines (20 meters radius): more stability at high speed, better balance between firmness and maneuverability
Progressive tip lift: high curve consistency, easy planing
Firm and constant flex: very stable ski
    Mounting point: -8cm
    Drilling: diameter 3.5mm x L 9mm
    Construction: semi-cap
    ABS edging all around
    Core: poplar/fiberglass

How come you went with shorter? For jump turns and riding the coulies?

    • @onecutmedia
      @onecutmedia  Год назад +1

And also the snowboarders slide through all the chokes which makes it even shorter then those skis

Nice skis ! Would like to know which brake width did you pick for this setup. Thx !

Whatever clears 105. I did not set them up

I put shifts on mine and used the 100mm brakes. You can always bend the brakes a tad to fit if needed. I actually had the 100mm brakes fit on a 108 ski.

@@fencejack why not just get the proper width?

@onecutmedia i worked with what I had. The 108s probably could've used the 110mm brake but I think 100mm brakes work just fine with the 105s. The 100mm brakes doesn't mean it'll only fit 100mm skis or less.. there's a decent amount of room to play with. Plus, I'd rather use the smallest brakes that fit so they aren't sticking out too far. I can't imagine someone with a 101mm ski thinking they need a 110mm brake because it's more than the 100mm brake. Shifts only came in 90, 100, and 110 when I was looking.

@@fencejack cool. I might turn mine into Cast next year.

Down voted due to the title being misleading. Should really be something like "Day of steep skiing the new ATRIS" because this is a FAR from a review of what is a good, better or best ski. Nice skiing and showing us a mountain but nothing in here about WHY you rate these so highly

I switched from bent chet 100 to atris last season. The difference was huge, better stability, better grip, better hard snow performance despite being 105 vs 100. The chets were amazing in maybe trees with soft light snow, but overall just not versatile compared to the atris which Im happy riding in anything
