This is such a great recipe! My mother passed it down to me, and it has always been my kids favorite! They are grown now, and always request it when we are together! We like to add Cholula hot sauce to it after it's cooked! Thanks for posting it!!!
You helped me thank you i had coworker make this once a year and I wanted to make some myself but didn't know how......... I'm glad you was able to help thank you again . 🙏
Thank you for this recipe idea! 😋 Only thing I changed was the sausage for some left over carne asada from last night’s tacos! I added in some of the left over chopped up onion and a can of drained green chilis diced. I also used canned milk instead of the cream as I always do this. It’s cheaper, works just as well and it’s a pantry staple that I always have on hand. I buy the little Cans though, as they’re better for recipes. And they fit inside of a sandwich size ziplock bag for what I don’t use:) It’s in the oven now. I’ll let you know how it turns out. My husby is a Mexican connoisseur when it comes to breakfast so he will no doubt pile on the salsa, sour cream, hot sauce and avacado! 😆it’s just the two of us so rather than make a half recipe and try to figure out what to do with the extra croissant dough, I’m going to cut up the extra and freeze into portions! 😜
Looks really good. I'm going to make it. I make something similar - no crust. I put torn bread pieces in the egg/milk mixture then pour all into the pan and top with cheese. I like your way better, but could use my way if I don't have crescent dough on hand.
A few comments, first you never mentioned how much heavy whipping cream, and some good alternative substitutes are whole milk or condensed milk. Heavy whipping cream is sweeter and gives it a bit of a sweet without noticing the sweet. Second really wanted to see the final product cut up and how it presents to the plate. Wanted to see what the size, height wise as you discussed the 12 squares and setting it aside for later meals.
Love the idea. I'm gonna try it. Just a small bit of unsolicited advice: it's always helpful to see a serving plated up after the cook. In this video, I was looking forward to seeing how the crescent rolls looked under the egg mixture after cooking.
My wife makes something simalar except with an unrolled crescent roll on bottom then she caps the top with another unrolled crescent roll.for me and some times sends it to work with me for all the guys and every one is addicted to it like crack. My one friend said that if he was on death row he would request my wife’s breakfast casserole as his last meal. And when another guy got transferred to Hawaii he asked us to freeze dry some and mail it. Lol. It’s good stuff. After a night of drinking a can smash half pan by myself before I force my self to back away from the pan.
Ok I will definitely be posting this video soon! Thinking about making two different recipes that I make! One is from BBQ pit boys and one is just a simple recipe. Thank you for commenting! 😍
Just made a batch of this. It is delicious!! The Sweet Hawaiian rolls really add a special flavor without being overwhelming. Took mine out at 25 minutes and both the rolls and eggs were done perfectly using a pyrex baking dish. FYI, using JD regular sausage, EB extra large eggs, 1/4 stick of butter to grease bottom of pan, and LOL heavy cream, calories are 3770 for the whole pan, or 314 per serving when cut into 12. Not bad for something so yummy. The real challenge is trying not to go back for serving number two!
yum! you know for a keto version you can actually make this without the dough and I would add more veggies or what have you for "filler" but it cooks up just as nice. When I worked I would cut up and freeze in baggies then take one out and zap and go in morning. Fairly portable breakfast! :-)
Yes!!! I’ve actually done low carb for over a year now and lost a little over 100lbs. I’ve made it without the dough and added the already chopped and frozen onions and peppers for a quick meal.
Just found this recipe. I always put the cheese on top last but I see you pour the egg mixture over the cheese. I think that makes all the difference in the world. Doing it that way from now on.
LOL! My stove was installed "almost" level too. Everything runs just a skosh to one side. - Looks yummy. I would love to see a slice cut out to see how the biscuits cooked. - Would be cautious of throwing veggies in as they would add liquid and might prevent the biscuits from cooking through.
I ADD RED BELL-PEPPER AND SOMETIMES I ADD ONION, I SIMPLY SAUTÉ’ THEM WITH A PAT OF GRASS-FED REAL BUTTER AND THERE IS NO-PROBLEM ♥️ HOPE THIS HELPS ✔️
Looks great! Normally I also would prefer the spicy sausage, or spicy food in general, but ever since radiation & chemotherapy for throat cancer, I cannot handle anything spicy at all! Gotta be real careful of any food I put in my mouth.
I add some green onions and have found that adding a little bell pepper ( not the green as it gives it a different taste ) makes the egg mixture more moist or not as dry .Thanks for sharing.

You can use canned evaporated milk instead of heavy cream, too. Cheaper and just as good.

Was a good snack to me.

To each their own. Part of cooking is experimenting. Seeing the pan, I would think it wouldn’t overflow. Common sense and all.

That looks so good. I just need to get a smaller baking dish. It's just me and my son. He saw and said let's do it. Thanks
Just use half the recipe! It will be great!
New subscriber. That looks delicious!
Thank you for subscribing! Hopefully more videos coming really soon!
They have those Cresents now in one big sheet...you don't have to crinkle anymore..😉

Thanks for that info! Heavy cream isn’t required. But does make it pretty amazing!
How long did you bake it and what was the oven set on
How much heavy whipping cream do you use???

@@mamalaylayscorner2724 awesome! congratulations!
@@mamalaylayscorner2724 I'm so jealous. But happy for you
Looks delicious. Make a skillet of gravy and u got a meal
I have the SAME tilting problem with my stove; just adjust the FRONT LEVEL, to even the stove out!
P.S. I'll try your breakfast meal soon
should try to cook the crescent rolls for about 7 minutes before you assemble...they always come out doughy.
Mine are never doughy! But whatever works for you!
I don't find it dough either and I've been making this for years. Each oven cooks differently though.
So what, maybe she likes it doughy. Duh!!!
This needs one thing to make it truly awesome, add mushrooms to it
Looks like beef mince i am from Australia
Can you cut these in squares, freeze them and cook them one at a time?
Yes
Just found this recipe. I always put the cheese on top last but I see you pour the egg mixture over the cheese. I think that makes all the difference in the world. Doing it that way from now on.

Need onions, bell peppers and Tabasco sauce
do you have to add the cream?
Nope! If ya don’t want to you don’t have to!
How many eggs do you use?
A dozen
Looks great! Normally I also would prefer the spicy sausage, or spicy food in general, but ever since radiation & chemotherapy for throat cancer, I cannot handle anything spicy at all! Gotta be real careful of any food I put in my mouth.
I use a fork always.
AMAZING 😋 LOVELY CASSEROLE SAUSAGE ❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME

Pull the bottom drawer out and you can easily get to the leveling feet in the back.
I add some green onions and have found that adding a little bell pepper ( not the green as it gives it a different taste ) makes the egg mixture more moist or not as dry .Thanks for sharing.
You didn't cut into it so we could see how the crust turned out. 😫
Oh well. The very top looked OK anyway. 🤣
∆
Level the stove ASAP. I've let mine go & it cooks unevenly.

I thought she was going to slice a piece 🤷
