My goodness I've never seen this technique before! I love that you can create the softened ends of the hair with this technique without drawing each end individually which is what I've been doing. Thank you
Best hair drawing tutorial I've ever seen. Had to retouch an image where I had to take away messy hair but replace it with something tidier. This video has helped me a ton. Thanks.
I have to admit I have never seen this technique before and I watched a lot of tutorials on painting hair. Really professional. You just got a new subscriber. Keep it up!
Great technique, definitely will be trying it out. I'm glad you took a try at curly hair. There are a lot of advice / techniques I've seen that assume straight hair, and I almost never seen someone every try to handle hair that has much curl.
,,,took me over an hour to feel competent working with the Pen Tool settings and how the tool integrates with the Move and Transform Tools to achieve this hair drawing manipulation. Tried it again the following day but had to refer back to your video before finally getting it.
This is a SUPER tutorial! The technique helped me so much in making my own hair brushes (including ideas for curly or Black hair curls)! I'm a subscriber. Thanks
More tips : if you want to use Warp without duplicating the whole path just chose " move tool " before you click crtl + T also you don't have to close the brush settings menu , you can set the fade number and hit enter 2 times and the hair will be applied, it you don't like where it starts to fade just Ctrl + Z and do another number
@@REDOUANENAOURI quick question if I may. I find myself having to go to the path window to unselect the path to see the stroke I have applied to the path. I don't see you doing that. I assume you are using a short cut. I must have missed that.
Hello Red, I have found your tutorial really interesting, but I found a little problem when I tried to do it, all works great, but dunno why, when I use alt plus arrows keys, instead of duplicate the hair line a shape is creating in the default color and I don't know how to unable it, thx again for your great work
hi i am trying this technique out but its not working for me. i can't close the path at all and when click alt with the arrows it just thickens the solid square, it does not duplicate the strand. perhaps there are settings used that were not shown (aside from the thickness and rubber band setting at the beginning of the video)?
This is a great tutorial and I'm able to figure out nearly all of it. The part I have trouble with is with after selecting the segment, I duplicate the whole path instead of just the part that is selected so the first anchor point stays in place. I've used ALT with the arrow keys and it doesn't work. Is there something I should be doing first or instead of? Some setting that I need to look out for? Please help! This is such an efficient way to add hair, I really want to get the most out of it. Thank you!
@@PhotoManipulation Thanks for replying! I think I was holding down CTRL+ALT down the whole time, yes on a PC. I was trying it again just now, with just ALT, and it creates a fill between the start of the segment to where I copy/nudge it to. It seems like such an easy thing to do!
Red says, if you make sure to use the default round brush with a low hardness and check "pen pressure" when converting the line into a stroke! Best of luck!
Can I do this on Photoshop Lightroom? This seems so complicated and I'm new at this photoshop thing? 😅 I just want to add some hair to cover one ear in a picture, but don't know what's the best, easiest, most natural approach...
@@PhotoManipulation 👋🏽 😃 OMG! You have no idea how much I appreciate your response! I've watched this video 10 times, no exaggeration trying to figure it out. I'll stop the video, try it, then get stuck. I've got one more question, really important....How does he get the anchor point that the rest of the lines can be duplicated from? I can only duplicate one line at a time, but I can't get them to anchor together. Thank YOU So Very Much! 🥰 🙌
It's hard to tell as during editing Red would check the tutorial and check everything is okay! He's watched it again and said that all the steps are there! Perhaps give it another try from the start- hope you find the solution!!

Hi Redouane -- I got all excited when I saw this video until I tried to follow your directions. My version of Photoshop doesn't behave like yours does. I know I'm writing over a year after this video was published, and Adobe has issued a number of product updates since then, but I don't remember ever seeing Photoshop do some of the things you make it do. For example, at the 2:27 mark, your version duplicates your path. My version just makes the path fatter. At 2:44, you select three of the four anchor points. Mine won't do that, and it won't let the top point stay in its place while the rest of the points are moved. I tried doing what you did at 3:12 and it just laughed at me. I'm using a PC with Windows 10 and Photoshop 23.3.2. I haven't heard of any other features being available on the Mac version but not on the PC version.

Try this...press and hold SHIFT + ALT at the same time, then press arrow key twice. It then creates a copy of the path you made. I found it after some trial and error.
@@jomariano37 Well, I'm making some progress. Thank you for sticking with me. When I Shft-Alt arrow, the additional lines are so close that I effectively just get a thicker line. I don't get the spacing between the lines that you do.
