Wow my 13 yrs girl recently started to use Photoshop. She is been having problems with hairs. I will show this clip to her after she come home from school. Hope her eyes light up with interest. Thanks!
This worked great for what i needed. I have hairbrushes already downloaded but came across this video and made my own custom one. Thank you for this video
+Robert Marzullo The transfer option isn't changing my brush, in this video you see the brush shape change in the brush mode dialog box but on my PC it just looks like straight lines, no wet edges...what is different about your Photoshop to mine lol??
Thanks man! this is really great! like the style of your tutorials... nice and easy! If you don't mind, what are the things to look at when making a custom brushes for hair? what's the ideal canvas size settings? is starting with 7 dots okay for a simple basic hairline... thanks so much for sharing!
***** I usually design my brushes at 1000px x 1000px but that is a little bit of an overkill. Unless it has a lot of smaller details in the design. You just have to imagine how the brush will work with the stroke settings you will apply. A lot of what goes into brushes that you make are what I call happy accidents. Sometimes you will just make a brush that is totally worthless but most of the times you will make some pretty neat effects. Don't get too caught up into the process and not end up painting anything! It is easy to do, I know from experience. lol Good luck to you and thanks for watching!
This is a great work. I try for a long time now to paint hair with mouse. I don't have a graphic tablet so i try with my mouse if I can draw real hair. Maibe some tips would appreciate. Thanks :)
pure2012 When you select the smudge tool you can then select any brush to become the current smudge tool. I like to use the same hair brush for that effect. Thanks for watching and glad you like the videos!
This is great! I have a question: is there a significant difference in effectiveness if you just use the brush tool to create spots on one layer and use that to create the brush?
I just got clip studio and you have adobe Photoshop is there anyway you can show me how to do this with clip studio. Drawing on my wacom pad is still new to me and it would help a great deal please. Or if there is a link to another video on clip studio version I would greatly appreciate it if you share it.
Nice Tutorial! I was wondering if you have any advice for a problem I am having with a custom brush I made when using the same technique in your video? My issue is when I downsize brush the brush strokes get distorted and twist. How can I prevent this from happening and have smooth brush strokes? Note I have smoothing on and there is no spacing.
