I have it on my old PC and it runs smoothly and I don't have money right now to spend it on a monster computer so I can run the newest version
@@mkm1015 I know its 4 months past your comment, but I think Photoshop CS6 is good enough for someone to start, at least until they got money to buy a new PC. Sure, you'll need to have a lot of patience and persistence, because in the newer versions of PS, there are a lot of things that are way easier and simpler to do, but nothing that is impossible with CS6.

Thank you! You deserved 100k, even more followers. 40 minute tutorial with in-depth explanations, examples, *protips* and information!!! With so much positivity even with the cold... Thank God for people like this, who are willing to put effort in creating tutorials like this. You mister are true sensei! 👏👏👏. I always take the notebook and a pen so I can write down and learn from you and than, later, transfer it on to my work. Once again thank you for all the tutorials and positive energy you are creating.
Dude, I love your tutorials! So easy to follow and very well explained. I love it when you explain something that is somewhat complicated and you say "Make sense? No? Here, let me show you." most youtube tutors just give the technical explanation (half the time it's inaccurate/poorly explained) and assume the viewer understands and moves on, but you take the time to thoroughly explain it. Please keep up the great work! You've really helped me to better understand the "reason why/how this tool does what it does when you do this" most the time I guess and it works out hahahaha
Photoshop should hire him, especially to answer questions by beginners....He has incredible patience and pays attention to details other instrutors are challenged by.
Dear! I think in some situations, as some are struggling with dark hair in dark background, my decision would be to actually DRAW HAIR, rather than try to unsuccesfully select it in messed up colour issues. I think that creating a script with some 5 basic patterns of ''hair'' would do the trick: select only the hair that's not messing with the background, then draw new ones from nowhere. I know it's a drastic decision but however it'll take less time & struggle. It should take practice and experimenting, but sometimes the fringes are still there, specially in purple BG. Thank you so much for explaining in-deep the WHY you are doing this or that!! and not just doing the magic :)
You're the best photoshop teacher I have ever watched. Because of you I have became so much better. Thank you so much for your time and effort I've spent hours watching your videos when I feel like giving up. Photoshop is no joke. One of the hardest programs I've had to learn! But I'm beyond thankful for your videos! I enjoy making manipulation scenes! Can you make one! I'd love to watch it!
SOOOO.....here's the thing...I am a kid...and idk how to edit stuff or do anything in photoshop.....BUT YOU MISTER.....SAVED MY DAY........I being a teen was able to do this on my first try.....THANK U ALOT!!!!....God bless you and your channel...I JUST HAD TO COMMENT.....Coz I am very happy !!!!!!
Probably the best video I have seen on hair selection. Most importantly, it demonstrates the fact that there is no substitute for careful work aided by clever use of the tools in PS.
Has anyone told you lately that you are simply MARVELLOUS, your tuts easy to follow, you sense of humour delights....and I will now enter into Photoshop Hell and try to do something with my hairy image.
Thank you for the amazing tutorials. Not only you cover a wide range of information but you also teach it so very tangible that is not confusing or all over the place at all. Thank you so very much.
Daaaaang! I'm a photo manipulation noob and I just learned how to use quick masking, but I didn't know this was even possible. That's some sorcery right there. Awesome stuff!
Thanks Jorge! With the advanced select and mask or channels, more often than not, it is not a mask problem. The hair is so thin, that it takes the color of the background. That's why, in this video I have covered how to remove those fringes.
I love your videos, thank you!!! I'm a Photoshop teacher and your technique is too long and complicated. I used to teach my students the channels method back in 2003. You can streamline it. For example, to darken the background image, you suggest making a selection of the hair and background, then use the Levels. You can make it easier by just using the BURN tool and setting it to shadows so that it does not affect the hair.
Great thank you, you are a master of PS, so much appreciate your work and time. Hair in photos have many complexities. Can you make a video on 1) hair extraction that has a busy and less contrasting colour background 2) Dark hair that has brighter highlights on outer flecks as light hits, and that are blending into light background colour. 3) When select Mask and other tools are unable to pick up stray hairs.
I'm following this step by step and just arrived at this part 9:01 and I'm already amazed!! T.T thank you so muchhh, and now i'll go back to the video~
Years ago Photohop had a masking tool/filter where you could paint over the hair area and it did a good job masking it. They got rid of that tool and I have always missed it. I like this method better because I like working in channels. Thank you so much you made my day :) I will be watching more of your vids.
Good masking tutorial. However, if I could make a suggestion on a follow-up tutorial on masking hair. Try masking hair from a similar color background. You can keep this background but make the model a brunette. Masking then becomes a challenge.
Well done. I have been clipping hair for a very long time and while my masks are tight, the fringe could present a problem. Thank you for not choosing the most user friendly photo of hair to use for your tutorial.
You can also use the density tool (O) to darken/lighten the background on your channel layer localy. In an other method you can merge channels each others (Alt+i+p) its works well. Greatings from france
This is crazy! but another level of sophistication. I can't stand poor hair selections. I watched this all the way through and about to try it this time to up my game on hair selections! The fringing will be the most work for sure. It's almost like you literally have to reconstruct the hair according to from person to person to fit and match the whatever background! This right here is the professional way of making selections, not only using a pen tool, creating an empty layer and painting in the gaps of hair then applying a feather around the person's hair.(That's lazy)
Great tutor! He even had a recap and has a repetition from his teaching. Thanks for the video tutorial . I think i'm gonna watch more from you. God bless!
