I'm a wotlk arena veteran and always thought people couldn't teach me much about the game. Your multi class PvP guides have proven me wrong - keep up the good work.
I quite mastered PvP combat rogue in Wotlk and should say that, even though, this guide is going to give you some good starting points, and the talents are fairy good, it's far from maximizing your combat rogue. When PvP combat rogue is maximized, there'll be not a single person to call it 'underdog', because it becomes a superior killer. Combat must be played with as little resil as possible, since once your major spells are on CD, you're dead. Combat rogue benefits from hit rating a lot, since your melee attacks will be your main DD. Get 5/5 of the talent + at least 8% from gear. I run 5/5 with 10% from gear. 4 subtlety talents are mandatory, others are optional. Improved kick is a must. Use this macro for your KS: /cast kick, /cast killing spree
I trust you, but one thing u should know if u mastered any spec in game. Combat rogue is not normal 1v1 pvp spec, so if you use this spec in duels as your main and people get you serious, you should also know that they are allowed to switch gear and put some tank trinket like skeleton key, 1400+ resil and stamina gear. That way combat rogue becomes trash spec and can be countered very easily by most of specs. Warlock pet shield, mage iceblock, priest dispersion, rogue vanish, hunter shadowmeld, dk tank build/icebound/sacrifice. Only real vulnerable targets are feral druids and warriors.
@@NibbaiWotlk Skeleton key and 1400 resil are killable in full pve. Furthermore, if they put on 1400 resil and tank gear your resil spec will become even less viable, as you'll have no chance to overdamage it. Priests with a skeleton key and 1500 resil are killable as well. The only two cases when I struggle are orc DKs with 1400+ resil and a skeleton key and super-short stuns and hybrid pret paladins. Of course, if someone decides to put on absurd 1600+ resil and tank you, crogue has little chance to counter it, but this is not a normal situation. Crogue highly depends on his gear, which should be as close to BiS as possible

Crogue is literally the spec easiest to CC not to fight face to face with it. You cant kill shadowpriest because of dispersion. fullstop. He has just too much CC to fight with him face to face and force his dispersion before CC. First fear>trinket. Then goes horror and u are dead with 0 resilience lol. Orc dks, preg pala unkillable on 1400+ resil. Oh yeah. I totally forgot about warlock teleport on KS makes it even easier to survive and on top of that Destro locks have a lot of CC for Sub rogue not for crap Crogue. This spec is just too limited on high level. Your enemies probably wasnt that good.
@@NibbaiWotlk Spriests are among the easiest to kill as a combat rogue. I duelled many gladiators and they all said they didn't know crogue could be that strong. Just because resil and low hit makes it a trashy spec for pvp. That's why I came here I criticized your guide -- it just doesn't reveal crogue's potential, which is way beyond what you experienced. But don't trust my words, I hope i'll shoot a video one day and we will have some material to discuss
I know that biggest potential on rogue comes from full pve, but i tried to make something different. Do you play blackrock? If you do i would really like to see you beatimg some 3+k win priests in dueling zone and some of the best warlocks in game
Coming back to this video, recently got my classic combat rogue full phase 6 bis all the uld arp off pieces and trinkets, combat feels lot stronger on blizzard's client compared to warmane. been actually killing frost mages, but then again I'm on NA so skill level may not be there, mostly opening with garrote,blade fury, they usually always ice block so fast, than it's easy to just trinket/killing spree after they blink but on warmane there's actually good players prob couldn't get away with that there lol.
Just for fun casual open world pvp with very low skill level, what is easier (most forgiving, least keybinds, least timing, easiest kill) between Assassination and Combat spec ? Asking for a friend 😅 lol
True, but if you face them second time its gg. On higher ratings you wont see 2 combat rogues doing much cuz there are too much holy paladins and priests. Pala just divine and its gg, priest can struggle to survive 2 KS but there is other partner to cc one rogue. Its not that simple

In my opinion 80% of classes who lose to combat are bad players or doesnt have proper gear to fight against combat.I dont remember i got fucked by a combat ever. If he goes full pve ill go full defensive build, simple as that..
