Hey man, you forgot to mention feint is really useful if for example you miss dismantle on bladestorm and evaison is on cooldown, you can use feint, reduces AoE damage by 50% for 5-6 sec.

@@JohnJohnson-qd9bo for someone like me who is just starting to get into the pvp world this guide is 100% usefull than all the BS you just wrote. Maybe your words as an experienced 9 years rogue player are right, but for me learning the basic rotations and how to deal with different fights in different match ups while explaining everything you do and why you do it in a detailed version of a youtube guide is so usefull for new pvp players like me tho. But thanks man appreciate the advice. Maybe one day after months of dueling ill find your comment and say you were right, but for now im just sticking to the dam guide to learn how to be a good subtlety rogue for a starter.

I`m really glad you`re making these guides, the barrier to entry for WoW pvp is so high and the community isn`t very welcoming to learning players. So thanks. While you said that this is not an advanced guide, I still want to add that it`s not enough for mid-high level play. For any new rogue reading this take your time but make sure to look for Other sources later to improve. Here`s a great example of more advanced rogue dueling, search on google for: Warcraft movies Vash Vol. 1 Duel Guide. Great stuff to take away from there. Then if you`re interested in arenas take it from duels (When you have a decent grasp on 1v1s) to 2s , to not get overwhelmed. It`s a different game in arenas but you wAnna know some stuff first. Minor note, would never recommend 2/3 on cheat death, too important to take chances with. Anyways, kinda long but gl =)

Another tip you forgot about distract. It can be used during combat with casters to "interrupt" their casts. It's interrupted because they flip their character 180
Thanks for letting us know you didn't play a rogue, distract EXPLICITLY doesn't work while target is in combat xD
@@szymongorski1540 it used to I never knew they changed it. Funny enough I do it on warmane n guess what casts stop when I distract em. Can't just do it like normal gotta do it like kick at the last 0.1 sec
@@Ithrial420 It literally never did, unless you were playing on some bugged private servers. This spell never had a major change (check wowhead or wowwiki changelogs) and NEVER worked on units in combat.
Keep in mind when casting (for example frostbolt) alone doesn't put you in combat and it's still possible to do so. I guess you confuse those two.

There is no much mechanics with Combat rogue. You can counter them with almost all clases. If someone survive killing spree u lose.

Dont slice and dice as a sub rogue pre give 2 combo point cheap shot give 3 total 5 wait energy fill after cheap and use kidney than click shadowdance than ambush evis ambush evis this is sub rotation

Back when warmane was Molten, before they fucked up everyone out of their chars and coins, i used to have DBW normal and STS HC and i think i used cloak and neck with ARP, worked really well, you should give it a try. I also had 4/5 wrathfull gear, i think shoulders where still relentless glad. But nice video, i hope retail releases classic wotlk so i can go back to rogueing :P

Although this guide helped me out a lot, i still got a couple questions which i hope u can answer me :D What Gear are we looking at later on in the Game? So whats the BiS for Sub Rogue, i would really love a Guide about this because i can't find anything online and I am very new on the Wotlk Patch and enjoy it very much this far.
What about Arena? Is the sub rogue the best option for arena or would it be Mutilate Rogue or is this entirely focused on match-ups?

Thanks, im glad to hear that! Hm BiS gear would be full Wrath main set, then if you play arena you should aim around 1k resilience(depends on team comp) that means you have to keep your feet and waist Wrath(because they give agility unline wrath neck,back..). If you play for fun u can play with full PvE of set with around 700 resilience. Aim for items with Armor pen and Crit chance stats. Neck - Syndragosa,Woodin Back- Venesa Dexterity Wrist - Toskk's Maximized Waist- Astryllan Sutured Feet- Frostbitten Fur Ring- Signet of Twiglight(for hit) Weapons- Heavens Fall and Scourgeborne warwxe. Trinkets- StS and DbW

Hi, great guide! Started to play rogue a couple months ago, and it's my first WOW character, totally got in love with the game and this class. Have a question. I play combat rogue pve and learn sub to pvp. Currently have 5.2 gearscore some t9 parts and t10 pants. So my question is, how can i balance pve and pvp equipment that will suite both specs. Can i have some t10 parts and buy some pvp a6 for triumph? Or should i better get full a6 set and then change it for full a8?
Of course i plan to use ice for pve gear first, as need to get best gear from raids to build good pve and pvp base.

Haha really hard to believe there are new players on Wotlk in 2020, but yeah im see them sometimes. If you are playing on Icecrown u can get lv 80 i 2-3 days, so its not big deal, u will have problems with getting gear on 80lv if u are new to game. Idk about which class i love the most, but rogue is one of favourite for sure, though im not that good at him

@@kadash1481 you dont have to switch u can have both of talents and just switching when u do dueling and switch to combat when leveling. But combat for pvp is pure shit, pretty brainless to play , most of them do killing spree and if it doesnt kill target, they lose
i leveled up to 80 on frostmourne in 1 day and 10 hours you don t need 2-3 days :)) and i wasn t a hunter or a mage i was a spriest

You should go pvp main set, and start replacing off set that doesnt give you agility like neck,finger,weapon with pve gear. But its not MUST to rush 1k resil, if u are good at rogue 900 could be enough, only if you aim some 3v3 arenas

Personally, for 2vs2 arenas i prefer stacking on red ArPen gems and use 5/5 PvP set mixed with off parts PvE(at least trinkets and rings) which you can gem them with ArPen so at least you have any chance to win vs Pala, Warr or DK. Anyway good guide.

Thanks, but this video is a lil bit old and there are some mistakes in talent build, so dont take it for granted. Try to search for some other builds. Also combat is still best pve spec and assasin isnt bad either. I love to level Sub just because i love to kill enemies

Hey mate, great guide. I would like to ask you something about your addons, i noticed that you changed enemy health bars over their heads, for example at 5:38 . Can you tell me how did you set it from Xperl Unit frames ?
You mean color of their bars? Thats Tidy Plates addon. It shows different color for each class, u can adjust colors for each class by yourself too. Im playing with default colors ( gray for priest, brown for war.. etc) and i learned it fast. Now i know istantly who am i facing in bgs when i see health bars
