These “old school” horn setups have a majesty and scale that modern large horns simply don’t have. Yes the new ones measure better but in their “flatness” have lost there soul.
I have owned a pair of Klipschorns from 1968, and have the new Forte' 4's. Nice vintage here, but man, those strings DO sound like they are coming through an outdoor Atlas or EV public address system. I would put a quality L Pad on the horn to tame it down a bit.
Best open baffle speakers I’ve ever heard. I could listen to them all day.
