    It's honestly kind of crazy how competitively priced Google have been with their new devices. I know the hardcore power users like to complain that Tensor isn't the absolute fastest SOC out there, but the performance on offer is excellent for day to day use.

    I’m interested in Google phones but am currently too deep in the Apple ecosystem to make the jump right now. I’ve just bought an iPhone SE rather than an iPhone 14 for similar reasons to the points that you highlight - I’m not a tech snob and it does everything that I need it to do and it’s cheaper. I’m sure I’ll make the leap to android in the next couple of years and it will probably be to the latest equivalent of the Pixel 6a as they are such good value for money. Great video and thanks for sharing. 👍🏼🇬🇧

    I like both tbh but the dual color tone in 6a makes me fall in love. Yes 7 is better overall but 6a is hard to miss with the juicy deals. I hope it stays the same for the entire holiday season. Currently using Xiaomi 11T 120Hz Amoled, but seriously I want to jump into the Pixel experience. I wanna wait for 7 to go lower or 6a would be an amazing experience? Thoughts?

    • @techintense5103
      @techintense5103 Год назад +2

      I have experience with both phones. I main a Pixel 7 but have experience with the 6a.
      Pixel 7 has 90 hz and has better camera (hardware).
      Pixel 6a is a stunning deal (in our costco they litterally pay you to get the phone). The 60hz is going to be noticable coming from 120hz but because it has 60hz the battery will perform better. The 6a has G1 Tensor which is 1 generation older but the performance is almost identical, and the only place it beats it is at AI (artificial inteligence).
      My recomendation is switch your current phone to 60hz and use the phone for a week or so. If it constantly feels like your missing something now you know to choose Pixel 7. But if it feels fine go for it.
      Might I also ad that the Pixel 7a is rumored for May 2023 and there is a pretty good chance that it will have 90hz and wireless charging, so if you dont mind waiting I think Google is going to kill it with the 7a.
      Cheers.

      This is really good advice! You can also find the Pixel 7 for like $400 on swapa in mint condition or on other websites. Just buy it from a reputable seller on swappa or eBay.
      There are plenty of great deals out there even though Black Friday is over. They were offering $480 if you traded in a Google Pixel 6. They're being really aggressive with deals. So whether you go new and try to trade something in or whether you go used either way I think you could find this for a good price. In your case since you are used to 120 hertz you honestly will probably end up enjoying the Pixel 7 more

    I'm still having a hard time deciding between the two for the upcoming 11/17 deals. 299 vs 499 makes it tough. Either phone will be a huge upgrade for me. My old iphone cracked, so I'm using an old low end Samsung atm. I mostly use it for pictures, twitter, reddit, web browsing, ebay, and some light gaming from time to time.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +18

      You will be fine with either one. What matters more right now. Saving the $200 or treating yourself? The way I see it, the 6a is 90% of the same phone in just about every category. 90% of the speed. 90% of the design (feels nearly identical). 90% of the display (7 is slightly brighter) and 90% of the features (pretty sure it charges slightly slower. And no wireless charging. But it's still water resistant).
      So I don't think the 6a will be disappointing. But the 7 is better. That's why it's a tough call. If you spend the extra $200 don't do it to get the best bargain. I'd do it to treat yourself. It's still a terrific deal. It's 1 extra year of software support. It's a great buy. If you get the 6a realize it's 90% of the same phone and you got a terrific phone and arguable a better bargain. Either way it's a win.
      The black Friday deals should release in like 2 days. Maybe check the trade ins and see if you get an extra trade in for your broken phone? Maybe they give a better trade depending on the phone? Otherwise I'd just pick between a great phone at a great bargain or treating yourself. Depends on your budget this holiday season

      @@AndroidDigest really like the comment here about how it's 90% the same. It really helps nail down the choice, if it's pretty much the same already and I won't notice a difference between the two. From $300 to $500, I feel like that extra $200 can go towards a good case, screen protector, and ear buds for the 6a and I'll have something just as good as most other phones.

      In same predicament, but then OnePlus 10 Pro dropped to $550. I've had the 6a for about 1 WK. Coming from OnePlus 7, with 6'4" screen, text at large size (middle option) is harder to read. I won't b forced to get glasses with 6'7" OP 10 Pro. As for where to buy... I'm not going to Best Buy bec, even though return is until 1/14, they have $45 restocking fee. As of right now, Amazon has OP10 Pro & 6A in stock. As for extended warranty...at Amazon, for 6a, 2 yr warr is $70 and for OP 10 Pro & Pixel 7, 2 yrs warr is $150. OP10 Pro pro: alert slider on side & 3 finger swipe down for extended screenshots. OP10 Pro con: curved screen. 6A con: power & volume buttons on same right side...too close to each other. 6A pro: haptic feedback

    Actually despite your slip up eBay has 20% off right now for refurbished Pixel 5A for like $180. Obviously it doesn't have the slick new design or the tensor chip, But it does have a headphone jack, capacitive fingerprint sensor, charger in the box, and will be a much better battery champ. 180 bucks for a Pixel 5A is actually kind of crazy. It'll still get Android 14 and possibly 15 as well.
    They're all pretty good deals I guess my advice to someone shopping a 7 pro or 7 I would just be to wait 6 months or so. Pixels are just insane deals on the resale market.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      Actually the Pixel 5A released with Android 11. So I would expect it only to get Android 14. So to only get one more OS update, That's my big concern there. I do prefer the fingerprint sensor in the back, but it's also a little slower than the tensor processor. But it does have a headphone jack and I love the fingerprint sensor way more.
      When you look on eBay you can probably find the Pixel 6a for around 250. I found it from Best Buy open box for about $270. In the end I think you can get great deals on pretty much all of the pixels and it depends on what you want.
      Anything the Pixel 5 up is going to be a really good phone. I agree with a lot of your points and I do think the Pixel 5A will have a little bit of better battery. Adding the fingerprint sensor on the back is a great thing and I'm sure a lot of people will prefer the 5A. Like you said that used market is really really good, So it's definitely a good place to look for a pixel

    To me, it's a wallet issue. If you're on a budget and you're shopping new, Pixel 6A. If you like the newer camera sensor, wireless charging and refresh rate, a Pixel 7.
    If you want to bargain hunt, a Pixel 6 can work too. But that depends on the price you find it for.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +6

      Exactly. You are right on the money. I don't think bargain hunters should be freaked out like they're missing out on something huge. The pixel 6A is 90% of the same phone as the Pixel 7. The design feels near the identical but it's made of slightly cheaper materials, but you can't tell. The screen gets almost just as bright, performance is 90% as fast, So it's a terrific phone for bargain hunters or people looking for a good budget phone. Or people who just want a small phone. But the pixel 7 is for those people who want a few extra features like you said. Both are terrific values though for Black Friday

    I have a pixel 6, but was fed up of the dim screen, so looked at the pixel 7 ( I struggle with OLED screens if they're not bright, an eye and OLED thing for me ). I didn't notice any discernable difference in display brightness when set to max manual display brightness on the pixel 7. I ended up going for an iphone 13, which has around 800 nits manual max brightness, which is tons better for me and my peeper's. I'm referring to manual brightness not auto peak brightness. I never thought I'd go iOS 🙊 I've found the iphone also has better and more reliable auto focus on the camera 📸 I'm loving the iphone video too. If I were to summarize things, I think the 6A is about 90% of the phone that the Pixel 7 is. The design is 90% as good, The performance and the display, it has like 90% of the features. But that extra 10% can be a lot, especially when you factor in that the pixel 7 is better across the board. So it all depends on the person and their budget

    I ordered the 6a as a backup phone as I already have a pixel 7 pro as my daily. Currently have my old pixel 4xl as my backup. considering software support for it has ended and the battery is at around 82% health now I decided I'd trade it in on the pixel 6a. After the black friday sales and trade in value for my 4xl I will have only paid $80 for the pixel 6a.

      Honestly I'd recommend making the swap. It's only a .1" difference. Google is giving out $480 for a trade towards the Pixel 7. It's so close in size you don't even notice. I'd get rid of the defective unit, essentially for free, while you can. After these deals go I'm sure trade ins will be down from $400+ to $200 or less. And Best Buy, if you choose to buy through them, they are giving $400. Only $100 to get a new better phone that isn't defective is a big deal

    So the situation for me with a $100 gift card I had at Target, I got the 6a for $200 but haven't opened it. I been using the 7 for about a month. I was going to do a trade in, but because of other issues, i was unable to trade in for the extra money off the 7.

      They do say that the modem is slightly better in the pixel 7 but I didn't notice a difference between them. Some people said that with a pixel 6 and even the pixel 6A they noticed worse signal. But in my case I normally only get like one bar of signal in my house and my Samsung phones always drop signal entirely and they will start roaming and they won't stop for hours. My Google pixel phones, both of them, held on to signal pretty well

      It depends on how many months. If it's 24 months and you're going to be paying $250 more, it's still a close call but I would say the pixel 6A is the better value in that situation. But I will say the pixel 7 is terrific too. Some people always regret not getting a better phone and if that's you I would just get the better phone. But if you're okay making a couple of compromises I don't think you'll be upset at all with the pixel 6A. It's a terrific phone

I had the 6a and the 7, and for the price the 6a is the better phone. I was getting like 4 and a half hours of screen on time on the 7 where I was consistently getting 6 hours of screen on time so thats not barely edging it out that's a huge difference.
