I've had mine for about 14 months now. Mine is used for about 25% single track, 25% light ADV, and 50% commuting. I've put about 6,000 miles on mine. I did do the ECU, got the AIM with a toggle switch for the full power map and the single track map. That, a Seat Concepts seat, and suspension set up with new springs for my weight and I couldn't be happier. I love this bike. I did get a chance to ride a KTM 500 EXC-F and it was great off road, but way too harsh with buzzing and vibration for the street, for me anyway. Whatever the Honda lacks in performance to the KTM it more than makes up for in refinement.
I love my 2021 RL. I picked it up brand new December 2020 and I have to admit it only has 600miles. But I can say these are the ultimate SoCal motorcycle. Keep up the great content. Maybe I’ll see you out there riding sometime.
Great to see your 2yrs review. I’ve been following your mods and so happy that I found your spring replacement vdo. Are you planning to further revalve your shim stacking? I see a potential on hi speed compression improvement for a better ride quality especially for those lighter weight riders 😇
I’m pretty new to riding I have about 6 months experience on a 150cc bike. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these for a while 80% street 20% dirt (trails, gravel roads nothing crazy) do you recommend this bike for someone with the experience I have? I’m 6,2 220 pounds
Do you experience much chain shake? During steady speed riding, I seem to have a lot of resonant shaking of the tension side of the chain. I still have the stock sprockets. In the worst case, the chain has moved around enough to shear the knobs of the side of the rear tire. Wanted to see if you have smooth operation when riding on road.
Have you had an issue with the neutral light on the instrument cluster will show that it’s in neutral first gear neutral second gear and then when I get to third gear, the neutral light will go out. There has to be some sort of adjustment somewhere that can take care of that. Have you found? Thanks, thank you
YES I've had that issue forever. I tried to look into it, I thought my neutral indicator was loose or something, looked fine but might try getting a new one or finding a fix.
@@lexdfox i’m trying to find again was reading an article somewhere about having the key on rotating the throttle to full and doing something else although I’m not finding it again I’ll let you know if I find something. Thanks a lot man love your channel.
I haven't but I have heard some having this issue, makes sure your cables arent twisted anywhere. There's a swap you can do with a throttle cable from the 450r that is shorter and routes in front of the bars that some prefer.
The seats not going to be very fun for you but there are other options. Probably have to play with the suspension some too to see what works best for your weight but the bike will definitely still rip with your weight for sure.

Short and sweet, great coverage of this awesome bike. As one who does live in the desert, this bike has been perfect for how I ride.
Thank you! Great to hear another fellow desert rider enjoying this bike.

Love my CRF450L, ride the asphalt south, camping gear and all, to the start of a BDR, turn around, hit the dirt hard and slay that thing!
Nice! This bike is set up to be a killer light ADV.
It's actually based on the CRF450X which repalced the 650R as Honda's Baja bike.
San Diego Powerhouse has some awesome owoer uogrades for the RLs too

Thanks for following! I would love to tackle valving but kinda like re-springing it seems intimidating at the moment. I'll get there though!
@@lexdfoxI’ll be looking forward to seeing your work on it. Cheers!
I got one 2 weeks ago and it’s a Supermoto already 👍
hell yeah!

How does it do with a passenger?
Hey there, do you have issues with your throttle sticking when you turn your handlebars hard to the right

Awesome
Thanks for the info
Keep wheel side down 👍👍👍
What clutch levers did you get?
Thanks
RSC, highly recommend
