Unlike Archie, Maxie didn't have a Pokemon to aid him in getting to the Seafloor Cavern(Let alone a Sharpedo). I imagine Maxie finally snapped, used his Crobat to get to Route 128(Much like Steven did with either Aerodactyl or Skarmory), but had to physically dive, pushing himself just to make it to Archie all on his lonesome. Based on Mt. Chimney it seems to be implied the opposing team was moving too fast and they(Aqua in Omega, Magma in Alpha) kept arriving on the scene long after the Player had dealt with the situation, Archie took off on his own based on pure instinct, but Maxie's growing frustrations finally got the better of his otherwise cool and calculating persona. At least that seems to be what makes sense of it all, unlike Archie, Maxie isn't physically fit to do all of that so effortlessly. Most people aren't, AS Maxie's lucky to even be alive.

I like how despite the urgency of the situation with the world burning to a crisp and all, the game still decides to stop you for several minutes of VERY IMPORTANT storytelling.
I don’t know if it’s popular opinion or not, but I absolutely LOVE THE BACKGROUND. I wish more games did this with their battles. Could you imagine fighting Solgaleo on the sun or Lunala on the moon for example?
Yea in both games the world can possibly end, but Maxie has a point. More land, because 70% of Earth's surface is water. I think Archie is being a bit selfish the other 30% so his magikarp can more space to swim...
Downpour theme: represents Archie's despair regarding humanity and its actions, now turned into a despair of what HE has done. Drought: represents Maxie's cold, almost machine like approach to further humanity at all costs, now decayed into a lifeless drone, as the program continues without the original desire for a better tomorrow shaping it.
I love the music of the team aqua and magma boss battles in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Thanks to your Pokémon, Maxie's team will go down one by one. Mega Swampert vs Mega Camerupt? Cool beings. Good job Omegaevolution. I'm proud of you.

Pokémon Trainer Khaelis Thooough it does have its downsides. It has a devastating 4x weakness to water and has huge trouble dealing with pokemon like greninja that can deal damage faster than MC can move. Still, Mega Camerupt is a total boss.
