Remember all those playground rumors about going into space to catch Deoxys in Ruby and Sapphire? Well Game Freak delivered in the most epic way possible.
I remember the moment I saw that triangle, and saw the Birth Island pattern I flipped. This whole thing was what kids rumored you'd be able to do back in the playground. It's unreal
+Egg Benedict Back in gen 3, there was a special event where you got a ticket that you give to a guy in the game. He then takes you on his boat to an island (I think it was birth island but I'm not sure) and in the middle of the island there was a triangle. When you interacted with it it would move. You kept doing this until the triangle turned red and was back in the middle of the island. Then you interact with it one more time and you get to battle Deoxys and you can catch it. This wasn't just a rumor, it was 100% real.

LizardLogan It's true that it did become from a Mythical Pokémon to a Legendary Pokémon. But now that Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon came out, Deoxys is back to being a Mythical Pokémon.

disturbing scientific fact: a meteor that big can actually can have a devastating impact on our planet if it strikes. however the fragments left behind by Rayquaza couldn't because not only was the meteor broken but the fragments are so unevenly shaped that they'd break apart upon entry into our atmosphere a lot more then usual and by the time they hit the surface they'd be as big as a bowling ball maybe even smaller
To be fair, this looks like it could be high atmosphere. The line between outer space and the outer atmosphere is hazier than you might think. For instance, contrary to its name, the International Space Station isn't in space, but actually in high atmosphere.
frostyguy1989 if there isn’t pressure you can’t have wind. You need both a cool front and warm front for weathers to appear or it will be bland. You also need a warm place and a cold place. So it’s impossible
The fact that Deoxys' first reaction was to immediately dash toward you and initiate battle is what made this one of the more intimidating Legendary battles out of any Pokemon game in the franchise. Hands down will always remember this one.
@@briarmason8737 Fun Fact: it wasn't even trying to destroy the planet. It was essentially hitchhiking to Earth to with it. So to Deoxys, you did pretty much the equivalent of destroying a cruise ship while he was on it
@@digojez plus Deoxys was exerting pressure as well If I’m not mistaken, no pressure means no wind as well Then again this is the same series that let you go into the high atmosphere AND has a twisted alternate dimension so I imagine common logic is out the window here
i never played or knew about the emerald event until after I played oras, but i knew about deoxys, so when the tentacles came out i was so pumped, it was so cool having heard of a pokemon but never knowing where he was from and then he just shows up. the best way to introduce this pokemon hands down
I didnt ran out but i found it quite an inconvinient event because of that, not knowing if you'll get another chance to catch it, although it was pretty cool how they linked both pokemon
Ray's catch rate was boosted in this game. I think it's because you have to catch it in order to progress the story. (Just like Zekrom/Reshiram in BW.)

When I first played this game, and got here, oh boy. The moment I saw that triangle, I was like: "Is that... No... They wouldn't...right?" Then It started to move in an oddly familiar pattern: *STARES AT IT, RISING IN SUSPICION* "Oh no" *Hears the bells and sees the rising tentacles: ....... "My heart is not ready for this" This used to be the stuff of legends back in elementary school. I cannot praise them enough for this delivery. Also, that music in the begining, it reminds me so much of Yugioh GX.
That's the thing; the happy, even generic-ish victory music of end-game makes this contrast true-ending and tribute from the past even more incredible.
This whole part made me so exited that I couldn't stop crying. It really is the best in all Pokémon games. Such epic journey. Also love the music, the bonding with Rayquiza, the flight, the battle itself. It was just pure epicness! Nothing can beat this!

With a title like Delta I should've expected this from the start, but it just didn't sink in until those chimes and stone movements from Birth Island. That was the moment my heart started racing and it was amazing.
The opening of the deoxys theme is so epic, you truly feel like your battling a creature that must not get to earth, that your the protector, that you are going to experience the most epic battle of your live. Great theme!

I'm in the year 2022 now, and the game going "Epic Rayquaza scene, you saved the world" leading right into a Deoxys fight is probably still my favourite moment in any Pokemon game.
I swear, ORAS is my favorite remake by far! When the triangle appeared, I was screaming "Holy! Am I really going to battle Deoxys??" This battle is so epic!
Up to this day, I still FLIP OUT just by rewatching this. It's still my favorite legendary introduction to date, reminds me of all those rumors in school about boarding the spaceship and battling Deoxys in space. Oh man, this is so great.

wont lie i feel a certain type of way i could catch it as it would end up killing itself with struggle every time and i just said ack forget it. i think my team really screwed it up because thanks to gardevoir he ran out of pp pretty fast so he would just struggle himself to death due to my poor luck with ultra balls should have saved the master ball on him instead of using it on kyogre.

This shit still was the biggest HOLY SHIT moment for me in all of my years playing Pokemon in all honesty. Just seeing that familiar triangle and then being there in disbelief and then goosebumps popping out as the triangle began moving and the bells of the theme hitting made me fucking mark the hell out
This was the one thing I did not expect when I played the game, so getting a surprise legitimate Deoxys battle was the coolest fuckin thing Game Freak has ever and will ever have done.
Imagine fighting an alien eldritch god from space while riding the god of the sky, over the atmosphere of Earth, protecting it. Doesn't get more hype than that.
to be fair, this deoxys was the exception. event pokemon encounters weren't really interesting in gen 6, with all but deoxys a guy still just gave it to you. you never even properly fought or encountered them outside of gen 4.
Me: At long last. After spending countless hours and years of collecting and trading, my dream of owning a legitimate living dex of all released pokemon is finally coming true. Just need this last one. Game: Shoots off into sky Me: All yeah here we go an epic final battle! Game: Epic Music, wild deoxys appeared Me: Okay, I hear it's a long fight, better start with T wave and just throw regular pokeballs until it runs out of recover PP. Game: Not even 30 seconds in on the second pokeball, You caught Deoxys! Me: Well f*ck, that was anticlimactic.
Well the first time I encountered Deoxys I obliterated him with Dragon Ascent xD so I encountered him a second time and I killed him on accident with a critical hit and I forgot to save beforehand (rip), so I encountered him a THIRD time and I threw a quick ball and caught him xD
+Bravex7 Rules actually deoxys was nerfed, I tried to capture him countless during one afternoon, I can't remember how many tries I had to go through, maybe 30 or something like that

Most memorable part of ORAS by far. Rushing through a meteor whilst riding Mega Rayquaza WHILST some DBZ music kind of stuff shreds in the background, only for silence to engulf the atmosphere and the triangle to show up and indicate the Appearence of Deoxys. It's theme is perfect with everything too!
Two things: 1. This is the only battle in the main series that begins with a Pokémon that has already Mega Evolved. 2. How can you throw the Poké Ball holding Mega Rayquaza and have it come out if you're already riding it?
I just can't get enough of the scene on which Deoxys emerges from the triangle! It's just too badass and builds up a lot of hype for the upcoming battle. I'll probably never get tired of watching it.
I'm aware of that event! The triangle even does the same movements needed for solving the puzzle in FRLG, so I got the reference; it's just that it didn't look so badass back then, haha.

This one, along with travelling on the sky with Latias/Latios, are the things that caught me with surprise when i first played the game. One of the best experience i had when playing Pokemon games.
decided to use the masterball as he was on a sliver of health with a burn and I couldn't be bothered to restart the fights again. Its not like the masterball has any other use in a game that lacks roaming legendaries anyway.
I used my Main Gameplay Team of Sceptile, Manetric, Swellow, Groudon, and Rayquaza. I was able to Dragon Pulse Deoxys leaving it at just next to no health then Paralyzed it wity Manetric. Got it in the second Poke Ball.
Me too. Box legendary rivalries are interesting and all, but it can feel somewhat staged at times. Meanwhile, the Pokemon company gave Rayquaza and Deoxys history. Timeless rivalry.

Scarlet and violets main story ending was very close but this still reigns supreme for me
Honestly catching Deoxys in a pokeball after seven straight hours attempting to is still my greatest feat in pokemon
while the capture rate is pretty high, i'm stoked that i caught rayquaza in that single premier ball sitting in my inventory.

Up to this day, I still FLIP OUT just by rewatching this. It's still my favorite legendary introduction to date, reminds me of all those rumors in school about boarding the spaceship and battling Deoxys in space. Oh man, this is so great.

wont lie i feel a certain type of way i could catch it as it would end up killing itself with struggle every time and i just said ack forget it. i think my team really screwed it up because thanks to gardevoir he ran out of pp pretty fast so he would just struggle himself to death due to my poor luck with ultra balls should have saved the master ball on him instead of using it on kyogre.

This shit still was the biggest HOLY SHIT moment for me in all of my years playing Pokemon in all honesty.
Just seeing that familiar triangle and then being there in disbelief and then goosebumps popping out as the triangle began moving and the bells of the theme hitting made me fucking mark the hell out
This was the one thing I did not expect when I played the game, so getting a surprise legitimate Deoxys battle was the coolest fuckin thing Game Freak has ever and will ever have done.
Volo battle + Giratina is a strong scene as well tho

to be fair, this deoxys was the exception. event pokemon encounters weren't really interesting in gen 6, with all but deoxys a guy still just gave it to you. you never even properly fought or encountered them outside of gen 4.
Fun Fact: This is the only battle in the entire franchise where Nature Power turns into a Dragon-type attack.
I remember tearing up during the start of this encounter. Holy shit it was fucking epic, wish I could witness it for the first time all over again.

Well the first time I encountered Deoxys I obliterated him with Dragon Ascent xD so I encountered him a second time and I killed him on accident with a critical hit and I forgot to save beforehand (rip), so I encountered him a THIRD time and I threw a quick ball and caught him xD

Rushing through a meteor whilst riding Mega Rayquaza WHILST some DBZ music kind of stuff shreds in the background, only for silence to engulf the atmosphere and the triangle to show up and indicate the Appearence of Deoxys. It's theme is perfect with everything too!

1. This is the only battle in the main series that begins with a Pokémon that has already Mega Evolved.
2. How can you throw the Poké Ball holding Mega Rayquaza and have it come out if you're already riding it?
I just can't get enough of the scene on which Deoxys emerges from the triangle! It's just too badass and builds up a lot of hype for the upcoming battle. I'll probably never get tired of watching it.
Well it is a reference to the event in FRLG where you have to solve a puzzle with that triangle, and then Deoxys emerges from it.
I'm aware of that event! The triangle even does the same movements needed for solving the puzzle in FRLG, so I got the reference; it's just that it didn't look so badass back then, haha.
I remember deliberately not getting oras spoiled for me, and getting to this part and seeing deoxys burst out of the triangle and it BLEW MY FUCKING MIND

Creators of the game were like "this is actually a pretty big deal" when they should've even put him level 90

decided to use the masterball as he was on a sliver of health with a burn and I couldn't be bothered to restart the fights again. Its not like the masterball has any other use in a game that lacks roaming legendaries anyway.
I used my Main Gameplay Team of Sceptile, Manetric, Swellow, Groudon, and Rayquaza. I was able to Dragon Pulse Deoxys leaving it at just next to no health then Paralyzed it wity Manetric. Got it in the second Poke Ball.
Killed it on accident on the first try
Lannisters You can rebattle Deoxys after you beat the Elite Four. He's on Sky Pillar. That's what I did for a perfect Deoxys. Just saying :).
I like how Deoxys still puts up a good fight against Mega Rayquaza.
He is like level 80 tbf. Thats a very high level and i think still the highest you fight any legendary.

Lvl 80 is the Highest level of any Wild Legendary
Arceus is either lvl 75 or 80
Ice or Shadow Rider Calyrex is at lvl 80
they put real love into this game

Me too. Box legendary rivalries are interesting and all, but it can feel somewhat staged at times. Meanwhile, the Pokemon company gave Rayquaza and Deoxys history. Timeless rivalry.
