- This is not the remastered version that came out more recently. There are some weird artifacts on songs, such as some warble/phaser type of sounds. I'm not sure if it is from the radio compression. There is also a skip in "Black Flag", and and think part of "Fall on Me" is missing. Still worth a listen. It was originally recorded for radio broadcast, so it is a soundboard recording. Enjoy!

I was the drum tech on this tour, good times.
You are a lucky dude! ☮️👍🏼
Youre under stating your role. Thanks for making this show a reality!
@@rockbass74 Thanks!!! When I got the gig they were my favorite band in existence. Walking into their rehearsal space with just the 3 of them was a complete mind F. In my mind it was the equivalent of getting the gig with Rush, but with less drums to set up / teardown. ;)
Great sounding drums man!
@@rayuelaas Thanks!!! Our sound guy Jay had a lot to do with that also. :)
By far...the best version of The Big Picture I have ever heard!!!!
There's a certain warmth, and vibe about this. From not just their golden era, but one of music's. Someone knew of this radio concert and made time to sit there with a tape deck and get it right from stage to radio. What a time, it truly is a joy to hear.
Ty's tone is just absolute perfection
This is officially available on CD from Molken Music. I strongly urge you to buy two, it's that good.
Is the tape warped during It's Love there too or did they edit it out?
I don't have it but according to the Molken Music site it is pre compression for the radio broadcast so likely intact abd without the warble
My favorite era of King's X.
Same!
These days is pretty sweet. They are out here doing it harder and tighter than ever. I love KX.
This was the first show I saw and lucked out living in Cleveland. Seen them 20 to 30 tomes since. Never get tired of them! We tried real hard to get a friend of ours to like them and he said they we okay, until we took him to one of their concerts. He fell in love immediately!
I had seen every Kings X show in my area up until when Jerry had his heart attack. I hope they decide to show up in the NYC area soon. I have seen them close to 20 times, the only other band that I have seen more live was Rush!!!
Vince your music taste is impeccable sir ! I just watched the Roseland 1994 show NYC. I was there

Glorious. I recently drove 1500 miles to see them at this same venue. ❤️❤️❤️
Mick Jagger has been quoted as saying ‘Gretchen Goes To Nebraska’ is possibly the best album he’s heard. ☮️
Source?
I was at this show, it was actually June 26, 1992. If I recall correctly, it was not long after this show at the Empire that the fire marshal ended up putting the brakes on a show at the club, telling ownership there were too many people in attendance. If I recall, the club owners said if we can't have that many in attendance, we'll have to close and the club closed I think before the end of 1992...
It's not just for the dead!
Man they were at their best here!
💯
I was there. Crzy
The sound is amazing on this. Thanknuou god and someone
Saw this tour in Savannah GA. Great show!
Saw this tour - Toad's Place - New Haven. Blew my fucking mind. Incredible. Great to hear this document. They were on fire in the early 90s.
the solo on Mr Wilson is worth the whole listen.
Love Jerry's solo in Moanjam.
I was at this!! Not a huge Kings X fan prior to(or after, honestly) but they put on a great show, and I'd end up seeing them years later in Pittsburgh, NYC and Virginia.
I was fortunate to see them when they first came to Cleveland in 88'. They opened up for Hurricane at a bar in Bedford called Septembers and rocked the house and sat at the bar talking and mingling with everyone. Really cool down to earth dudes with no ego, unlike Hurricane which no one cared to even hear after seeing King's X !!
@@216Numbskull I couldn't imagine having to follow King's X. Especially back in those days. Just incredible.
@@forvaughn Exactly, me either they were dialed in, and on top of their game. It absolutely should have been the other way around on that venue, but the arrogance of Hurricane thought different, because the 2 younger brothers of Quiet Riot's Carlos Cavazo and Rudy Sarzo played in Hurricane. It really was great and one of my most memorable shows, especially being such an intimate setting. It wasn't even a club, just a local bar with a small stage in the corner. Great times & shows like that in the 80's/90's. Happy New Year!
@216Numbskull I was at that show too with my brother to see both bands actually. Fatal Charm was also on the bill. Maybe 50 people there. I like being one of the first to see them in 1988. Saw a lot of concerts in 88. Great times.
Yes! I love King's X! Been a fan a long time! :D
Thanks. Recently found your channel. Great content!
I was at the show and remember wishing I had known it was going to be broadcast on the radio so I could have a friend tape it I did not know this existed till today. Thanks for posting this!
It's been officially released on CD
AMAZING!
Wow amazing. Favorite band ever
I was at this show. I was bummed that Galactic Cowboys canceled that night due to Monty being sick. The band The Lost was also on the bill but they were boring. King's X were great as always. It always struck me as odd that WMMS sponsored this concert as they never really played King's x or GC. I bet Atlantic Records paid for this...
This record deserves stereo treatment
I tried to get my old band to cover Summerland, which I can play on guitar note for note.
Anybody found Silent Wind live???
Just uploaded a concert from the Cotton Club in Atlanta on the Tape Head tour.

Ok, the warped and stretched bits are harshing my buzz some too. :-( here's hoping it doesn't go beyond the three songs near It's Love
The kicks are kind of obnoxious but otherwise great stuff. Thanks.
