People forget in 2017 when they made it to the ECF in the IT era, Brown was coming off the bench & not even their 3rd scoring option. They lost to Cavs in 5. Nobody in the East was seeing them. In 2018 they got there with a Rookie Tatum without their 2 best scorers Kyrie & Hayward & still went to 7 against a Prime Lebron. In 2020 they made it while plagued with injuries & Hayward missing multiple games but lost to a superior Heat team. 22 they went against a gauntlet of teams Bucks, Nets & Heat but fell short against the DYNASTY Warriors, last year they went on another amazing run & came back from 0-3 but lost in 7 because Tatum sprained his ankle. You have to make sure you add context to all these.

@kara He might be the 3rd option, but he's their anchor on defense. He's backed up by a nobody and a 37 year old. He's pivotal.
@@karabomafa5609 3rd option, but biggest X-Factor. He completely changes how teams can play us on defense. He makes our offense significantly more efficient and effective. Because he creates a binary option.
Option A - You put a big on him or Option B - you put a small on him.
Option A - He stands far out beyond the 3pt line and pulls your big out of the paint. If the big tries to shade the paint, Porzingis is open for a 3.
Option B - He posts up your small in the paint and probably draws a foul in the process, or you double team him and he kicks the ball out to one of our excellent three point shooters.

The bulls swept the Heat for 2022-23 but lost the play in to them. Playoffs are a whole different ball game kid. You’d know if you watch the games
If the Celtics had won the Finals in 2022, nobody would be saying anything. They are battle tested over the past 6 seasons, they are hungry. They went out and got Holiday (upgrade over Smart) and Porzingis (Upgrade over Rob Williams). Even if Porzingis doesn’t play, they almost won the Finals with Smart at PG. Holiday alone puts them over the top. Tatum can drop a 50 piece in the playoffs, he’s done it before. My GAWD, they are 8-2 in the playoffs! Two gentleman sweeps.
There is a huge problem if Porzingis doesn't play. Players are switching onto Horford and getting easy points

Celtics won their games without Porzingis but no one says anything. Mitchell is out and now its like the celtics win doesnt count. Mitchell was out for several games in the regular season and Cavs still manage to win a lot of their games. Their players are quite good its not only Mitchell who carries the team! And most of the time when the teams star is out, the rest of the team elevate their game!

Don’t know if I would call short handed Heat and Cavs teams as hurdles; more like a pile of leaves on the sidewalk. They are going to be unprepared facing the team that comes out of the West. Their only hope is that the teams in the West continue to beat up on each other.

This! Where was all the talk last year of when the Nuggest were playing play in teams in the playoffs, one round being the finals? The C’s only two losses this playoffs were outlier games where one game they couldn’t hit any of their shots game 2 against the Cavs and the other being game 2 against Miami where the Heat went off three pointer wise, other than that business as usual like during the regular season, except now I believe their winning percentage is better than the regular season.

If the Celtics and the Nuggets both reach the Finals, I would bet money all day long that the Nuggets win. Although I would rather the Celtics were the winners. If somehow the Mavs win their current series then beat Denver, I would pick the Celtics over the Mavs. It's all about matchup and don't see the Celtics matching up well against Denver.

What danger were the warriors and nuggets facing the last 2 years in their run to the finals? The only healthy team the warriors played were the Mavs. And the nuggets played 2 playin teams and the suns with 20 games of KD under their belt. Nobody was disrespecting them. The fact is the Celtics wouldve at worst beaten the heat and cavs in 6 games if everyone was healthy, and I’m sure Jimmy doesn’t make a difference this year.

Eastern conference is so weak compared to the West. Knicks are the only team with decent defense but they are all beat up too and might not make it past the Pacers. Pacers have no defense at all. Its so hard to judge hpw good the Celtics really are when they havent been tested.

I think the Cavs are a better team w/o DM and everyone else being healthy. Without a doubt, if that Cavs team was healthy, they give us a run for our money.

All team in the playoffs second round have been upset by their lower ranked opponents. These teams are battle tested to get this far. Celtics are no exception, no team at this stage can relax even for one game. The 8th seed Miami heat in the finals in 2023 shows that the Celtics and Nuggets may not even be the teams to make it to finals.
