I have 7 different pairs of JG’s purchased over 20 plus years and swear by them. They have served me well in different terrain. My vellies are now like slippers. However , I wore the Bradbury soles smooth at which stage they became very slippery in the veld especially on dry grass. I had them re-soled with the Oringa sole-what an improvement! Thanks to JG for an amazing product.
If I could afford every type of every style JG makes I would own them all, I’ve never had a last fit my foot so well and I never knew what it was like to have toe space, lifetime buyer here
Throughout the 1970's/80's almost everyone in the British military wore desert boots, DB's or Desert Wellies as we in the Royal Marines called them. I need a pair of your boots in my life 🥾 👍
Good stuff! I am sure you have thought of everything in your development cycles. Just in case: re; Shoellies. How about an inner strip of material with the eyelets pre-attached in proper position, the VAMP/Upper could have the holes (as you already do) that match. Then glue and sew the strip in-between the inner and outer layers. This will hide the eyelets, add durability and still maintain the SHOEllie's appeal.
I have had a pair of the vellies for 5 months now and I really like them, they're tan and I waterproofed them with beeswax while it was raining and the color looks even better now.
I've got the traditional Vellie (maybe the first one in Hungary), and i have to say i only want to buy Jim Green boots now. The importance of toe space has been forgotten long ago, and it is just so comforting not to have my toes crushed at the end of the day. The construction is durable and casual at the same time, i can wear them to work in the lab and then to walk my dog, and for me they are fancy enough to wear to more official events as well. I really appreciate your work and I couldn't be happier when i found the European reseller. Lifetime buyer here as well.
I’m loving my Buffalo African Rangers. I’m still wearing them mostly into town but also more and more around the ranch, like right now. I just ordered rough out vellies to replace a hiking shoe that I’ve worn for years around the home. The vellies look so much better than the ugly shoe and I’m sure they will be more versatile. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the support and great feedback! Our Vellie, just like our African Ranger, is extremely versatile. We look forward to hearing the adventures ahead with your boots and please do get in touch should you have any questions along the way 💪💪
My shoellies just arrived today and I can honestly say that they are exactly what I hoped they'd be. My long and narrow foot made the vellies look pretty clownish on me, but this new last is perfect for me. I can't wait to see how these wear in.
Very happy with my size 13.5 Rambler Vellies! Size 14s were sold out on Cyber Monday, so had to settle for a half size smaller which turned out to fit great, and most importantly wide enough for my 4eeee foot. Loo!ing forward to buying more Jim Greens - Shoellies or Rangers!
@@ivanbrownflower9828 I would say so. There is a completely smooth top grain on the inside of the vellie. I get the impression the inside was slightly sanded (might be wrong on that) but it still looks like a full grain roughout. It also seems to be pretty slick on the inside like its got a lot of oils in the leather. I did watch a few other channels impressions on Jim Green boots, but even just looking at them now I can tell its not suede as there is the looser fibers on the outside, you can see the grain at the top as there is an unfinished edge to the uppers, and a smooth interior with no lining, just the top layer of the leather
@@Dea_Decayhey. I have the exact same on their way. Question, 1/2 sizes not available, so I went up 1/2 a size. In your opinion, did I mess up or think will be ok? My rangers in the 1/2 size are absolutely perfect! Thanks
I love my African Ranger a lot and I am thinking about buying a pair of shoellies. The sole is incredible, even in frozen winter conditions and on wet forest ground they have plenty of grip. The Shoellie in the video is this a Houston brown one? It looks very dark, more like black… If so I might better buy a Fudge Crazy Horse and apply some leather oil.
I ordered a pair of shoellie and I find them very comfy. Now looking at the African ranger and wonder how the can by compared to the shoellies in terms of feel on the feet. What's your opinion. p.s. should I go half size down?
You have so many nice boots and shoes - I want them all! Curious how production of the Baobab Boot is going? Got a pair of those on pre-order that I can't wait to receive! :)
Good day and thank you for the feedback, the local (South African) orders are rolling out the factory as we speak. As for the USA pre-orders, our shipment is currently en route to the USA and as soon as it touches down, we shall be shipping. Our delivery is expected in the last week of May💪
Thank you for checking out our video, the sounds could be our signature frog crock or the hammering from our construction in the back - We're expanding, which is exciting, but can be a little noisy at times.
Our boots are true to fit however we do recommend sizing up half a size on our Shoellie should you be looking for a slightly less snug fit from our ASHM last.
@@JimGreenFootwearOfficial went with your recommendation on the shoellie" ordering us size 12 and they fit great. Looking at the A. Rangers. Should I also go the same size as the shoellies or 11.5 ? Thanks for the recommendation
Good day Hendrik. The colour in the video is our Houston Brown Leather. On the South African site, it is the darkest colour option when you select the Shoellie. 🐸
Good day, this is our Mala boot you are referring to above, we have not included this boot in the video as we will soon be discontinuing it from the range 💪
Good day and thank you for the interest. The best option for the time being would be to place an order with our German stockist, L'Atelier Monsieur, or to place an order through Amazon. As we expand we are looking into methods to make Jim Green boots readily available world wide 🐸💪
@@senorpuertas 🤷🏼♂️brother, I do not recall my heavy, super stiff boots, that had more eyelets being like this basically chukka boots. They are both leather boots, but the similarities end there “ for me”. F-14A Tomcats ( brand new) out of North Island. I believe the squadron was VF-14, Tophatters. Cheers! I absolutely love your boots. The one thing I wish they had. Was instead of the little jim green tag. You would a small South African flag. Kind of like fjallraven does with the Swedish flag on all of their products.

I ordered yesterday a Suede Vellie. First time to have a Chukka Boot.
i wish there will be a Jim Green Moc Toe someday. 😁
Did you watch the newest video
I’ll take em all thanks.
I just got my roughout chesnut Vellies 3 days ago! They seem great so far and will probably be the boot I wear most this summer!
So they're definitely rough out, not suede? Was thinking of order some custom AR8s in the brown "suede"..

which color is that traditional vellie, chestnut?
Any plans to do a production run of barefoot Shoellies? I'm just one guy, but I feel like you'd have a huge success there.
