My husband is autistic, and this is one of the only films that he actually likes how autism is depicted. Particularly the nuance that autism isn't a superpower, but it does help Christian focus on certain things exceptionally well.

I know a lot of people were lukewarm on this one, but I really enjoyed it when I saw it back in the day. Not just cause it's an action film, I love the way he takes control of the situations he's in. Starting with the farmers' taxes and continuing through the movie.
I also liked his appearances in Kevin Smith's movies. I saw Daredevil in the theater before expectations were raised by Iron Man and enjoyed that, too. I don't think it deserves the hate it received. The resources that are now available for superhero movies mostly weren't, then.

This is one of my favourite movies, I love it so much. The action is excellent. As someone who is definitely not an Affleck fan I felt sad for him that this movie was overlooked. Kind of gutted I never saw it on the big screen. Also, the Punisher plays his little brother :D
I love this film. Not only for Afflecks acting, but the autistic POV. My son is autistic and people who refuse to look at autism differently, think he’s stupid. He has incredible artistic skills, for example his 3D spatial kills. Unlike me, and many others who would need to take measurements to make sure things are to scale, he doesn’t. He can just look at things and do it. He’ll make clay objects, and then make multiples either larger or smaller, and they’re all accurately sized. It’s amazing to watch.

I cant believe im saying it but the father is right to a degree. I know people including myself that have similar routines of flashing lights, loud music ex.. To a degree you have to adapt to the world. You can't expect the world to adjust to every person.
Yeah but the world doesn't make much effort to adjust to those who are different. There needs to be a middle ground. Also exposure doesn't often work well for autistic people. It usually onlh exacerbates the already painful experience of overstimulation.
Two different approaches to the parenting in this movie. The doctor would have shown how to accommodate the boy. The military officer knew that the world was not accommodating and would teach the boy how to cope. I don’t believe either of them were wrong.
People have mentioned the essentials I’d say when it comes to Ben’s filmography, but I would also add The Way Back. It’s directed by the same director from this movie, Gavin O’Connor and the story is one that hits very close to home for Ben.

This was one of my favorite movies since it's a good, if hilariously extreme, representation of how autism works for many people. The military told him to double tap, so he ALWAYS double taps no matter what since it's a "rule". He told his handler his plan was to find the guy and shoot him in the head. The second he saw him the man didn't give him a reason to not shoot him, so he killed him. The speech about hope for an unspecified amount of people was irrelevant. Fucking gold.

Im an aircraft mechanic and I travel often for work in the past with other companies and I had to do itemized deductions for travel, food, hotel, tools, gas and so much more. Finally got on with a company that covers all travel 100%. Glad I dont have to do them anymore.
A great Ben Affleck movie is "ARGO", a true story based on the CIA using the actual make-up artist from the original Planet of the Apes movies to help in the rescue of 6 Americans who escaped the Iranian takeover of the American Embassy... Affleck stars and produced this film. I think you'd like it!

If you want to see Ben Afleck in a very early role you have to check out "Dazed and Confused" or "Good Will Hunting" or "Armageddon". I never understood why he has a loyal following of Haters. And we all know that the Haters get all the Press.
I think that's the thing about the dad, he understood enough, but he also knew that the world isn't a particularly friendly place, especially at that time to mental disorders That fight against the bald guy was when I realised Ben Affleck would be the perfect body double for Jason Voorhees
My thought is that the Dad, as it runs in families, is also autistic and since it really wasn't acceptable when he was growing up is "training" Chris the way he was "trained." I know that to a lesser degree that's how most people over 40's parents handled it -- that is, if they could pushing their kid to do things that weren't at all natural for them for the same stated reasons that Chris' Dad gave and also because at the time there were few other options (the center they visit would have been a rare exception) barring some heinous institution. Even though his intentions were good, though, Chris' Dad was abusive. He let a giant, grown man, beat his kids to a pulp in an effort to make them hard. It worked in terms of giving them mad skills but I would doubt that either of them is what one would call happy and both of them are living in the shadows. The reality is that there are still parents trying to force autistic kids to be "normal" - forcing them to be something they at a fundamental level are not and can never can be. That makes me very sad.

When this movie came out I remember seeing it in theaters, but it didn't do so well. It was like one of those under the radar movies, where not a lot of people saw it because they didn't know what a movie called "The Accountant" would be about. It did alright, just wasn't a blockbuster for sure. If you liked this movie, you should watch "Law Abiding Citizen", a lot more methodological killing and stuff. Great freaking movie!

Being autistic myself I can’t imagine being forced to undergo loud noises and other sensory things to fit the idea of “normal”. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t diagnosed till I was 14 and my family wasn’t understanding and called me a brat before my diagnosis, but what his character when through is something else.
Affleck films to watch Gone Girl The Town The Sum of all Fears Armageddon Chasing Amy There are others but he had small roles in them so they’re not really a Ben Affleck movie.

Ben Affleck is a big guy who plays both physical and understated roles with success. He plays this meek accountant but when unleashed he is a monster!

One of the few Affleck movies that I like. Gone Girl is another one that really surprised me at how good it was.
They showed 20 years later at start after showing kids with military dad. Yes that was him.

I could be wrong, but I read a book about the mafia and if you were an “accountant” you were actually a hit man, and usually the best.
Being autistic myself I can’t imagine being forced to undergo loud noises and other sensory things to fit the idea of “normal”. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t diagnosed till I was 14 and my family wasn’t understanding and called me a brat before my diagnosis, but what his character when through is something else.

What does an accountant do and what are the skills needed?
Some skills may include but are not limited to accrued liabilities expenses journal entry capabilities and jiu-jitsu for starters ;)
Depends on what kind of accountant you're talking about :)
Edit: also, I'm pretty sure there is no application for certain types of accountants.
