Inside Man is an underrated film. A great cast, good pacing and an interesting take on a classic trope. Denzel’s performance is one of my favourite of his filmography. He stole the show and his scenes with Christopher Plummer are so good. Hope to se you react to that, Training Day, American Gangster and Flight.
"DeJa Vu" is a great Denzel Movie, So is "The Book Of Eli" and "Fallen" and "The Bone Collector", "Unstopable", "Devil In A Blue Dress", "The Pelican Brief"!
Not everyone. The series work off entirely different rules and the disrespect it would do the Robert would ruin it. Robert prevails in situations by being smarter and more observant than the ones hes fighting. John essentially just barrels through his enemies
The Equalizer and John Wick both released in 2014, and in 2012 Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise was released. All have a similar and brutal action feel to them, with a hint of a detective story throughout (John Wick the least on that front, but he's still finding his way through to the end goal).
So many people miss the Jack Reacher movies. They will watch the TV series but they sleep on the movies which is odd to me considering Tom Cruise is the playing Jack Reacher.
Cool movie for sure. You guys absolutely HAVE to do "Training Day". Densel won the best actor award for it and has great performances all around. Awesome movie I know you two will love. And a non Denzel movie you need to watch is "Sicario". A tense drama that is a great movie also.
Virtuosity is a good Denzel movie from the 90s, it’s super cheesy good fun and it also stars Russell Crowe in one of the most Unhinged roles of his career
Please do a Denzel series like Arnold and Sylvester. Incredible actor. So many great movies. Inside Man, hurricane, training day, Pelican Brief and Philadelphia
i remember when i first watched this movie, i knew denzel's character was going to be some dangerous and highly proficient person but that first scene where he kills slavi and his men completely shocked me. i remember being unprepared for the brutality and cold efficiency of the violence when seeing it. such a gratifying scene and it really establishes what the Equalizer is capable of for the rest of the movie.
Denzel is such a great actor with almost no bad films( I didn't care for Training Day but its still pretty good). A film I think is under rated but is so good with a cool concept, great cast and I think you will enjoy is Deja Vu from 2006.
Just saw E3! It’s the best in the series! Great closer to a great series. Recommended Denzel films: - Training Day - Man On Fire - Malcolm X - American Gangster - Inside Man - Crimson Tide - Unstoppable - Hurricane - Book Of Eli - He got game -2 guns.
Fun movie. Based on the TV show "The Equalizer" (1985-1989). Great reaction as always. BTW, honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Pine tar and some other natural ingredients can also used for wound care.
I'm one of those goofballs who likes the old TV show more than the Denzel remakes...but I MUST watch this reaction because I love TBR Schmitt even more! 👍
This was originally a TV show starring Edward Woodword as a retired British MI-5 Agent with a Licence to Kill who helps people when no one else can. CBS currently has an Equalizer TV show starring Queen Latifa. Robert is supposedly a CIA/NSA Agent who spciallizes in "wet work" (assasinations). The 3rd and Final Denzel Washington Equalizer movie comes to theaters this week.
Its my head cannon that The Equalizer, Nobody, and John Wick are all in the same cinematic universe. Also I'm voting Remember the Titans as your next Denzel movie.
I remember the tv show this was based on from the 80’s where the character was a old ex British spy as the main character. Denzel is awesome in this like he is in every role.
I just thought of something...Sam's opening "hello" would be a fantastic meme! 😊 Also.. "Nobody" is def worth a watch...its a slightly different take on action. Denzel's "The Book of Eli" is a goodie to add to the list
I know people are talking about Denzel's big movies, but please don't miss out on some of his best older films like Fallen (1998), The Siege (1998) and Courage Under Fire (1996)
I really liked how easily Robert dispatched with the big bad in this film. It’s cool how as good as that guy was, it shows that Robert is just THAT good at what he does.
Therer's a holy trinity of Denzel flicks that are all absolute MUST-SEES - Malcolm X, The Hurricane and Training Day (which was his FIRST TIME working with this movie's director, Antoine Fuqua) - but he's been one of the greatest actors of all time for YEARS. He worked with Fuqua again more recently on the surprisingly awesome remake of The Magnificent Seven, and there's also other big hits like John Q, Philadelphia, Cry Freedom, Courage Under Fire, American Gangster (from Ridley Scott!), The Tragedy of Macbeth and The Siege. He's also one of those fantastic actors who can take a role in a film which is, at best, otherwise just okay and elevate it into something truly GREAT through delivering a genuinely fantastic performance, such as The Book of Eli, Safe House, Deja Vu, Fallen, Unstoppable and the remake of The Taking of Pelham 123.
Please add Out of Time to your Denzel list!!! It's hard to believe you haven't seen Remember the Titans but - if you haven't - it's a must see! The Bone Collector is an AMAZING thriller/suspense with Anjelina Jolie and, for Christmas, please watch The Preacher's Wife!!!!
On the two apartments - one tap vs two taps in the sink. Where he was treating his leg there was only one mixer tap, and the room they burst in to had two seperate.. :) Also I think you've done Hot Fuzz? The guy who played The Equalizer in original TV series was the same actor for Mr Tom Weaver (in the CCTV room at the police station) - Edward Woodward. :p
Man on Fire (2004) is another Denzel film along the same lines as The Equalizer I think you'd enjoy. I also recommend American Gangster (2007), Flight (2012), Remember the Titans (2000), Crimson Tide (1995), Philadelphia (1993), Malcom X (1992) and Glory (1989).
I've been waiting to see you two do a review of The Equalizer. So glad you enjoyed it and that you are interested in continuing the series. Definitely one of my favorites as well. Thank you, I enjoyed watching with you and seeing your reactions. 😊
Which most people don't know the equalizer was actually a TV show for quite a long time it was fantastic my brother and I would sit there and watch every one of the episodes the second one with Denzel Washington is unreal
You may want more wholesome and uplifting movies on your schedule when you have your baby and will be stressed & emotional. I suggest: Cocoon 1985 Win Win 2011 Overboard 1987 Weekend at Bernie's 1989 The Way Back 2010
THE BONE COLLECTOR is another really good Denzel movie. (It was also Angelina Jolie's first movie role, IIRC.) It's about a hunt for a serial killer, with Denzel and Angelina's characters partnering up. What makes Denzel's performance so amazing is that he's playing an almost total quadriplegic, so all of his acting is voice and facial expressions.
Classic TV series becoming films or film franchises and actually being successful is a rarity. Other than Mission:Impossible, there is The Equalizer. One individual to even up the odds for the innocent. Bringing the pain to the bad guys that deserve it. I loved the classic tv series (1985-1989) with the late Edward Woodward since childhood. It was revamped into a new original series with Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall/co-producer (since 2021, 3 seasons). To have this great actor/filmmaker collaboration make something like this is very rare. Denzel as McCall/co-producer and Antoine Fuqua directing didn't try to copy the show, beat for beat (except for the last shot). I saw it in the IMAX format and it became Denzel's highest grossing film ever. Part 2 is a must-watch, even more kick-a** and grossed more than the first.
John Wick and The Equalizer both came out months apart in 2014. Like you said if you haven't seen the most recent John Wick, definitely react to that on the channel as well as the remaining Equalizer movies
I love how Susan says, "I have very little influence, these days.", and then she has pick up and delivery to her back yard from the Agency. Most people believe whatever they are told. The truth is that when someone "retires" from an intelligence agency, that is just their new cover. This gives the agencies a virtual army of operatives to call into service for big operations, like 9-1. They are never "out" unless they do it like Robert did.
This series of films are based loosely on a TV series from the late 80's of the same name. It ran for 4 seasons and as TV series go it wasn't bad. You might be interested in the fact that the Bourne film series grew out of a 1988 TV miniseries 'The Bourne Identity'. Spanning 2 nights, it was basically 2 feature length films. I recently re-watched it and it was pretty good. It's available to stream.
I found it interesting how Robert went to Susan, his old supervisor at the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency), not only for intel on the bad guy, but also for 'permission'. On one level, perhaps it was a moral permission, as an old and trusted friend, _should_ he get involved with this lowlife, in killing him, and perhaps even his boss the Russian oligarch? And perhaps 'permission' in the sense of making sure he'll not be messing up any current ops or initiatives for DIA by doing so. Wouldn't do to have his old shop put out a hit on him, either by not knowing it's him and suspecting a new actor in the game, or perhaps knowing it's him and still taking him out because his actions are unauthorized. Susan's not warning him off gives him the green light to 'take out the trash'. Which he does. Effectively.
I am a nurse, and we use honey for wounds. The honey we use has been treated to get contaminates out. He cooked his to do the same. Honey is pretty good stuff.
I feel like I've already seen you guys react to CRIMSON TIDE with Denzel and Gene Hackman...? If not, definitely check that one out + PHILADELPHIA with Tom Hanks, THE PELICAN BRIEF with Julia Roberts, AMERICAN GANGSTER with Russell Crowe, FALLEN and REMEMBER THE TITANS! 😁
The way the two of you enjoy action and suspense *together* is excellent; you don't question or criticize for the sake of it, you take each sceen on its own terms, and absorb as process as a team. On my "to watch" shelf ... The Equalizer (1985-1989), starring Edward Woodward. A classic 80s episodic series of the wandering hero trope, classic 80s TV action with a British flair. Unique in that it starred an older leading man. Haven't seen any of it since it went off the air. Will it hold up? We shall see .....
"He just killed an entire Russian organization for you." And that ladies and gents, is a true gentleman. This was an amazing movie to watch with you two! Truly kickass action that I enjoy a lot, and even own in my library. Great to share this with you both, and I would recommend "Deja Vu", "Man on Fire", "John Q", "The Manchurian Candidate.", "The Bone Collector", "Virtuousity", and "The Book of Eli", as movies I have seen and enjoyed greatly, though Denzel is so good and fun to watch, it's hard to say if there would be any movie of his I wouldn't enjoy!
I'm so glad you guys are watch this underrated masterpiece, Denzel Washington is outstanding as always, super stoked for Equalizer 3, gonna see it this coming Saturday 😄
There are so many Denzel Washington movies. You should add to your list. There's Malcom x, book of Eli, He Got Game, Training Day, Magnificent Seven, Bone Collector too many. Heck guys just add all his films to the list.
Glory is one of Denzel’s first. Great movie with Mathew Broderick, Denzel and Morgan Freeman! You need to watch that one unless you have seen it already
Have one or both of you seen Training Day? Check that one out asap. It's really different than the rest of Denzel's movies. If only because of the type of character he plays.
Samantha's mouth open the whole movie was epic 😂This came out before John Wick, same year, but before. I love John Wick, but no where close to a McCall. This was based on an 80's tv show and revamped recently with Queen Latifah taking over the role, but nowhere near close to the movies. -Movie of Denzel to check out that I've seen.. -Of course Equalizer 2 (much better than 1 and goes into his past) -The Book of Eli -American Gangster -Training Day -The Bone Collector -He's Got Game -The Preachers Wife -Devil In A Blue Dress -Mo Better Blues -Mississipi Masala -The Mighty Quinn -Malcolm X -Crimson Tide -A Soldiers Story -Ricochet
Denzel Washington recommendations: The Pelican Brief Crimson Tide Virtuosity Courage Under Fire The Siege The Bone Collector John Q. Out of Time Inside Man Déjà Vu American Gangster The Taking of Pelham 123 The Book of Eli Unstoppable there are others but these are the ones that I've actually watched
I really like this series. The 3rd installment came out this weekend and I've seen it twice already. It's set in Italy which a lot of movies have been this year for some reason. So it's helping me with my Duolingo and my appreciation of gorgeous villains. 😁😍 It actually reminded me of a giallo at times. Denzel did this movie ROMAN J. ISREAL, ESQ. a few years back that got overlooked. I'll recommend it but it won't win any polls. I'm probably always gonna recommend the obscure stuff no one else cares about. 🤷🏽
There’s is so many Denzel Washington movies to watch and I also recommend for y’all to watch is an underrated scifi/action movie that start Denzel and Russell Crowe called Virtuosity (1995). That is the film I watch when I was kid is the reason DW is one of my favorite actors all time!
Oh... I can't wait to see you guys react to Equalizer II. It's a different, "Schedule". LOL You'll find out. It has interesting twists and turns. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
Great reaction you two! The sequel is excellent as well (haven't yet seen E3). There are so many excellent DW thriller/drama/action films to check out like The Bone Collector, Fallen, Inside Man, Philadelphia, Unstoppable, The Taking of Pelham 123 (remake), The Magnificent Seven (remake), Deja Vu, The Book of Eli, The Pelican Brief, Training Day etc. 😁 Also if you like stories of a man with similar type fighting skills trying to help others, you might enjoy the tv series _Person of Interest_ with Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson.
It is loosely based on the '80s TV series with Edward Woodward as McCall. Similar to the series "Stingray", people in need would call him for help. Writing that now, it sounds a lot like "The A-Team" as well, but that one had a very different feel to it.
The turf war line is my favorite, because when you hear it , you are like stupid news, but they got it right, it was a turf war just not between who they thought.
Just saw the third one and it was great. A solid trilogy and Denzel Washington is one of the greats.
Denzel is the man. Plain and simple.
Def in top 3 of actors
For me he is No. 1
Although, I don't like it when he plays a "bad guy", you cannot go wrong with ANY Denzel movie. Really, just pick one and start your Denzel series.
@@ugaladhthey have to watch Malcolm X
In "Training Day", he's The Un-Equalizer
Inside Man is an underrated film. A great cast, good pacing and an interesting take on a classic trope. Denzel’s performance is one of my favourite of his filmography. He stole the show and his scenes with Christopher Plummer are so good. Hope to se you react to that, Training Day, American Gangster and Flight.
It's not underrated. 🤡
Yes. Add Fallen in there also. Don't see alot reacting to that and it's one of my favs with Denzel
inside man is fantastic, love it
All great movies. Denzel IS the MAN!
@@JordanJMyersTiiime is on my side. Yes it is!
"DeJa Vu" is a great Denzel Movie, So is "The Book Of Eli" and "Fallen" and "The Bone Collector", "Unstopable", "Devil In A Blue Dress", "The Pelican Brief"!
Philadelphia too!
And many more!!
Virtuosity is slept on too!!! :D
I Love Deja Vu. None of my favorite reactors have done it yet.
Deja Vu and Fallen, yes please!
I will NEVER give up hope for a John Wick/Equalizer crossover. Would set a body count record for sure. 💀💀💀
The best crossover Will be denzel Washington and lo amo Neeson. In a r rated movie
EQ 4 will be John Wick prequal.
John Wick takes out Robert McCall.
John Wick is who you call to kill the boogey man. Robert McCall is the boogey man.
No because the two series have completely different views on how action is shot
Everyone wants it a team up movie with those 2 would be epic
Not everyone. The series work off entirely different rules and the disrespect it would do the Robert would ruin it. Robert prevails in situations by being smarter and more observant than the ones hes fighting. John essentially just barrels through his enemies
Denzel Washinton embodies every action movie trope in an awesome performance.
The differnce is the weight and gravity of Denzel's acting. He is magnetic.
Crimson Tide is my favorite. Denzel and Gene Hackman kill it. Such a nail biter.
Chief of the boat!
The Equalizer and John Wick both released in 2014, and in 2012 Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise was released. All have a similar and brutal action feel to them, with a hint of a detective story throughout (John Wick the least on that front, but he's still finding his way through to the end goal).

Malcom ×
@@cameronhill9746 I would love Malcolm x but people stay away for controversial reasons.
Completely forgot Malcolm X which is one his best. Not as good as Glory but close
Hurricane is better though

Book of Eli for Denzel.
Yes yes yes! Love that movie
i remember when i first watched this movie, i knew denzel's character was going to be some dangerous and highly proficient person but that first scene where he kills slavi and his men completely shocked me. i remember being unprepared for the brutality and cold efficiency of the violence when seeing it. such a gratifying scene and it really establishes what the Equalizer is capable of for the rest of the movie.

23:45 “He didn’t come for help, he came for permission” Great line by Melissa Leo.
My favorite Denzel movies are "Remember the Titans" and "The Pelican Brief"! I'm so glad you liked "The Equalizer".
I'm one of those goofballs who likes the old TV show more than the Denzel remakes...but I MUST watch this reaction because I love TBR Schmitt even more! 👍
“He got game” is another great film of his.
My uncle's one criterion for action movies: Good killin'. "The Equalizer" passes the test.
This movie has a great line that i still use when i try to get better at something big in my life. “Its about progress, not perfection.”
25:15 "He probably needed a little bit of fresh air" lol that cracked me up

There are so many Denzel Washington movies. You should add to your list. There's Malcom x, book of Eli, He Got Game, Training Day, Magnificent Seven, Bone Collector too many. Heck guys just add all his films to the list.
Glory is one of Denzel’s first. Great movie with Mathew Broderick, Denzel and Morgan Freeman! You need to watch that one unless you have seen it already
A couple of great Denzel films would be The Taking of Pelham 123 (with John Travolta) and Unstoppable (with Chris Pine)
I just remembered A History of Violence is a great film.
-Of course Equalizer 2 (much better than 1 and goes into his past)
-The Book of Eli
-American Gangster
-Training Day
-The Bone Collector
-He's Got Game
-The Preachers Wife
-Devil In A Blue Dress
-Mo Better Blues
-Mississipi Masala
-The Mighty Quinn
-Malcolm X
-Crimson Tide
-A Soldiers Story
-Ricochet
Denzel Washington recommendations:
The Pelican Brief
Crimson Tide
Virtuosity
Courage Under Fire
The Siege
The Bone Collector
John Q.
Out of Time
Inside Man
Déjà Vu
American Gangster
The Taking of Pelham 123
The Book of Eli
Unstoppable
there are others but these are the ones that I've actually watched
I really like this series. The 3rd installment came out this weekend and I've seen it twice already. It's set in Italy which a lot of movies have been this year for some reason. So it's helping me with my Duolingo and my appreciation of gorgeous villains. 😁😍 It actually reminded me of a giallo at times.
Denzel did this movie ROMAN J. ISREAL, ESQ. a few years back that got overlooked. I'll recommend it but it won't win any polls. I'm probably always gonna recommend the obscure stuff no one else cares about. 🤷🏽
The funny thing was John Wick and The Equalizer release the same year. September 2014 for The Equalizer while October 2014 for John Wick.
There’s is so many Denzel Washington movies to watch and I also recommend for y’all to watch is an underrated scifi/action movie that start Denzel and Russell Crowe called Virtuosity (1995). That is the film I watch when I was kid is the reason DW is one of my favorite actors all time!
Brawl in Cell Block 99!!! Vince Vaughn!!!
Denzel brought Robert McCall to the big screen, but the OG EQ from the 80's was the bomb.
Also if you like stories of a man with similar type fighting skills trying to help others, you might enjoy the tv series _Person of Interest_ with Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson.
Fallen, the most underrated thriller of the 90s. One of my favorites!
It is loosely based on the '80s TV series with Edward Woodward as McCall. Similar to the series "Stingray", people in need would call him for help. Writing that now, it sounds a lot like "The A-Team" as well, but that one had a very different feel to it.
There was a TV series of the equalizer in the 1980's also another good one is "law abiding citizen "
Denzel always delivers..
Consider 'Fallen' with Denzel and John Goodman (also w/James Gandolfini).
The turf war line is my favorite, because when you hear it , you are like stupid news, but they got it right, it was a turf war just not between who they thought.
Great reaction. The 2nd film is actually better and more emotional. Denzel's performance is Oscar-worthy.
Can't wait till you guys watch Part 2. It's even better IMO
Denzel has been in some gory movie's. Glory, The Bone Collector, Man on Fire, Book of Eli, EQ1, 2, 3.
