Great tips from one of the best defensive lineman of all time. Unfortunately, I'm a jets fan and we saw Mr. McGinest 2x a year wreaking havoc in the jets backfill. As a defensive end myself I've always appreciated this man's talent. I got my son involved in football as a defensive end this upcoming spring, and who better to watch the training videos from other than Mr. Willie McGinest. Thank you Mr. McGinest for your fine play and your instructional videos!
Thanks for the life story
Stop 🥩 riding
This is gonna help so much cant wait to try it out
Did it helped buddy?
It's helping me so I hope it helped you
@@DK.The.Warrior is it for pass rush or for basically everything?
@@afxapocalypse9479 its more pas rushing if its a run then do gap control ankle to ankle in a gap to protect it and the next gap then if its a outside run then redirect to the ball
I met Willie McGinest once. I felt so small next to him, lol. You don’t realize how big some of these NFL players really are until you see them in person, it’s insane.
Fred dryer and I have the same doctor. I’m he mans arms are long and his hands are huge
Great DL fundamentals that I will definitely introduce to my players, thanks Coach McGinest!
Great stuff, definitely will incorporate these into our drills. We use some techniques, however here he refined some of the thinking. thanks coach.
My nephew is in the 8th grade and first time playing football and I’m training him. I played corner back In high school in 1999 and he is wayyy bigger then me now and for his age at 13 he is 6’0 180 so he probably grow to be 6’5 so I want him to be a beast. Great tips
😭😭😭 this vid is so good! My 12y/o was so frustrated at practice last night because he couldn’t follow these instructions. This will help him SO MUCH! 🙏 THANK YOU!

Cant wait til season start to try it
Thank u so much❤
thank you
Great players
Young guys, especially kids about to be freshman in high school who wanna play football. That stuff he said about not windmilling that swim move is spot on and great advice i wish someone had told me.
If you make a big exaggerated windmill like that the o lineman is going to feed you your ribcage. I abandoned that move altogether, but if we had all these videos on the internet back then id have practiced it differently.
Until you get it tho, stick to push/pull hands inside, or get low and rip through. If they are holding you too much slap and rip. Starts with the stance tho. It all comes from there, gotta get that down.
What a winner go get um champ !
preciate it coach
Thx
its good to see some stuff for the trenches, without the trenches its just seven on seven. we need more trench work
Bro thanks
Jesus loves you
He loves you too man
Meh.
Amen !! He loves you too !!!
Big fax
Amen he will be with u all throughout your hardest times
I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY NEXT GAME NOW.
Starting son on these tomorrow
Thank
You
Bout to go to my first practice after playing middle school recess football for so long wish me luck
How’d it go? The great thing about football is you can start playing in 8th or 9th grade and can still get good. It certainly helps if you start younger but it’s not a necessity. In sports like hockey it is very very tough to pick up in 9th grade if you haven’t already learned to be an excellent skater. I’m interested to know how your 1st year of football is going?
Sending this to my son for to prepare for Junior day! I grew up watching this man getting sacks lol
I met him at a lil event I went to for my school
What I want to know how to be a better diamond and the Lyman so can you video what you what they do every technique every day please
Where can I buy that bag that he uses in the video
Well what i do to get to the quarterback is when you line up with a line men uses your hands and arm fight and get him to the said so you can run past his it works like every time and I get at least two or three sacks a gam
When doing the slap rib what am I aiming to slap?
Willie
I'm looking at these because my teammates like to bearhug me on the line while that is very bad its better to practice against cheaters and get better than to not
I have a question what if you don't have a bag to do the technique for hands is there another way ?
you can get somone to hold up a pillow for you if you dont have pads or a bag
@@aliekamara3177 okay appreciate
Or a tree. That’s what I do
@@MinecraftPlayer-uc1lv oh OK thanks
Can someone explain to me why you would want to use the swim technique over the rip technique. im new to football and my coach hasn't mentioned the swim method.
Catches Olin’s off guard at times u want to use different moves to keep line guessing
Can u do some route running or w r drills
I think there is a video
Cooper Kupp did it, if I'm not misteanking
Go check it out !
At the end he talks about 3-point stance and getting off. His right hand is down and right foot is back. When he steps off the right foot comes forward. In the Slap rip and slap swim demonstration when he gets off, he steps with the left foot first even when the right leg is back. Is that correct way for the slap/rip and slap/swim? I ask because he comes off differently than what he shows at the end.
When he demonstrated the slap rip and the slap swim his base with his feet was a bit tighter together, and he took more of a lateral step to get to the target, since it is a pass rush move to get outside. I think most DEs would be more comfortable just switching the foot and arm to their left side for that drill. It’s really more preference though.
I’m good on strength and using hands it’s just the run reads I need help with mainly will cuz I’m usually at forcer
im being coached that my first step is 6 inches fast then punch out , that looks completely different to this
That's for stopping the run. This is mostly pass rush.
Season abt to begin for me 😎😎😎 quarter backs gon be like 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Hey! is it possible to contact you? I would like to ask you for training advice
Don’t get too low if you’re a shorter guy. The O-line will just jump on you
So true some 6’ 320 fatty did that into my back 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
About to go try these techniques on my granny
Can you send me good blocking drills for kids age 10 years Olds thank you
Why does sometimes he steps with the front foot first instead of the back foot
You forgot to add to use a bottle
Freshman year y’all pray for me
Willie looking like he can still play dude is built like a truck imagine seeing him run full steam ahead at you good luck I'd run out of bounds immediately
He can play in jail.
I went to a football camp down in Oakland and this guy so happened to be one of the coaches in it. Let me tell you…this guy was an absolute grouch. Looked down and talked down on every participant in the camp. I’ll never have any respect for this clown.
What school is that?
But will staying work if your not that strong
He can teach how to fake an injury in the red zone to stop Manning's game winning drive when you are out of time outs
Where can I get that dummy? Our team needs that!
IM GAY
@@pffl5443 and
My coach says punch through, not swim
Do you like the patriots
You have a lot of patriots clips
Pay attention to Paducah Tilghman in Kentucky defensive line this year your lessons are getting passed on to my nephew Keegan Wolverton that is in the nose guard position and defensive and as a sophomore
isn´t it better to rotate your hips when you slap and then you rip
When did you play in the league?
@@MrBigBoy4Life i play in europe. I'm just saying, hip movement is really important for a dliner.
First
Thanks and im a dn
I think I need to learn karate first.
He just did a windup with his hands.
You gotta stay low my coach teach me that
Show this video hurry up

May You Be Guided correctly
Just got arrested
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

i'm sorry, but i can't NOT look at that pinky finger.
I just want all of you to know that Jesus loves you so much that He died for your sins on the cross so that you may be forgiven
