    This video helps me a lot I was dedicated dollar tree with Schneider and being a new driver it stressed me out and I couldn’t do it just because there was some backing that was real rough . Now I am about to start team driving and hope I can gain some seat time to better myself but kind of have someone else just in case I need the help.

    Great that brothers can work together. Biggest challenge for most is trying to get good sleep in a moving truck. Waterbeds are not a good idea in the truck, lol

      Gary M yes that is a big issue, I still have issues from time to time sleeping in the truck, if we are driving through NY or Indiana , yeah not getting no sleep all those potholes suck

      I just got off my trainers truck and there was another student. I slept fine while the truck was moving. That was only at night time. Day time I couldn't sleep much. Even with the curtain closed.

    I got my CDL through CR England. The training was horrible. 1 trainer for 2 traines.
    It was horrible.
    3 people to a truck. I couldn’t do anything. Drive and sleep. If I'm off 10 hours. 6 for sleep 4 for me.
    I took a year off because of it.
    But I'm back at it. My dad said he'd train me.

    Step 1) DONT
    No amount of pay is worth sharing your tiny work space, sacrificing sleep, and not being able to listen to the radio at certain times. Also my top bunk and passenger seat are extra storage space.

    • @hamletdubois6201
      @hamletdubois6201  6 лет назад +3

      lol its something you get accustomed to over time, When I finished driving my 11 hours i tend to stay awake for another 2 hrs, that way when i do lay down im a lot more tired and have less chances of waking up during hard brakes, or bumpy roads.Most of the time you will sleep for 6 hrs straight followed by other small naps

    • @hamletdubois6201
      @hamletdubois6201  4 года назад +3

      Definently should make money especially with everyone ordering online since covid 19. Start figuring out when ya like to take home time. Teams typically take home time at the same time. Also talk about sleeping and driving for one another, people get tired and better one of you driving then ending up in the ditch. Lastly make sure your team partner is doing his/her miles so that your not driving all the time.

      Question do the drivers get paid by split miles or you guys keep the miles that you make meaning if you make a 1200$ do they split it or you keep what you made and the other driver keeps what he made also?

    • @hamletdubois6201
      @hamletdubois6201  7 лет назад +1

      joshua torres the easy way to understand is think about how many miles the truck ran then split that. so if the truck ran 5500 miles and you are getting 50 cent per mile split. that is $2700. then split that between both of you. which makes $1372. that is what u get. understand?

    Could I start my 34 hour reset while my wife drives or is it not allowed to be in a reset while the truck is moving?

    • @taratalks37
      @taratalks37 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, she would have to drive like a Solo driver

    • @hamletdubois6201
      @hamletdubois6201  5 лет назад +1

      yes you can, its called a rolling reset

    • @BreezyFB2010
      @BreezyFB2010 4 года назад

      Or you can do a rolling reset... you go on duty 9 hours and then your partner 9 hours, do this everyday and then at some point you will start to get extra hours added to your clock (rolling reset). It is better to do that than run your 14 hour on duty clock because you don’t have to do a 34 hour reset! In the long run you actually run more miles/get paid more.

      I really don't understand why someone would want a dog. At some point they're going to piss/shit in your truck. They'll wake you up at night. Make you stop more often. Pet supplies takes up space. T H E S M E L L.
      I'd rather deal with a human passenger, but being alone is the best.

    Teams don’t make double the money. It’s still two drivers splitting the money. Go solo and go to a company that pays good. Team is not a perk. Don’t let these lost drivers and shit companies brain wash you

      Camping toilet, which is just a toilet seat on a folding frame. Hang 2 13 gallon trash bags in the seat, like it's the opening of a trashcan. Fold it up & put it away. When the urge strikes, unfold & use. Tie up the bags really tight. Maybe put in another bag. Next trashcan you see, drop it off.
