    At the time, the human eye couldn't see more than 5 fps. So that detail makes it even more realistic

    It takes good training to stay 'composed' on those smoke-filled chessboards. Keep me away from the grapes hot.

    Generals don’t think smaller than Divisions.Napoleon at Waterloo had about 20 units to think about.And each was,basically,a one shot deal.

    Perfect I'm reading Sharps Rifles all books from his time in India to the End! Then I find out about the tv show and its pretty damn good! The guy playing Sarge Harper is spot on! Of the choice for Sharp was wicked sick!

      Generally, a great work, I agree with the others, lots of efforts, many thanks for this. I have a question though. Well, to start with😊, never mind elephant size horses, fallen soldiers getting up and continuing as if nothing happened, people shooting at nowhere, generally, absence of wounded and crying, sometimes awkward or pointless maneuvering, simplified close combat scenes, noises totally off the real ones - the CANNON / gunshots would be deafening all the rest with crying occasionally popping out due to the high frequency, - etc., etc. - all this is acceptable and, again, I really appreciate the huge and thoughtful work done by the guys and some compromises they had to find - BUT: WHY ALMOST NO CANNONS? As far as I am aware at that time they accounted for about 1/3 of the wounded and possibly a higher percentage of the dead. Plus a major psychological factor. And lots of additional smoke.🎉

    Wrong. You are showing linear tactics, it was used in the 18th century, in the 19th century under Napoleon they used column and scattered formation tactics, not broad thin lines of infantry.

    • @JeffDavies-i8q
      @JeffDavies-i8q 19 дней назад +1

      Not the British- they kept to linear formations and square when heavy/medium cavalry were in charge distance. Light infantry acted in a skirmish role when required- to disrupt enemy formations or scout unfamiliar terrain.

    Napoleonic age with a Ted Turner film score lol Gods & Generals along with Gettysburg was absolutely beautiful, Napoleon should have been filmed how those films were. With the action vibe from Patriot am I wrong?

      cavalry squares were used to prevent an infantry unit being wiped out by cavalry. rarely did cavalry, light or heavy cav, break through said square.
      variations of this has been used as far as back as the early Roman Empire
