Getting a 3-star rating in all 23 time trials in Mirror's Edge. Gameplay was performed by babbisp1 on PlayStation 3 and recorded using Hauppauge HD PVR 2 (not the best quality, not the worst). No glitches used. (TIMELINE BELOW)
・HUGE credits to UpsiloN (aka UpsiloN_TV aka quebecboby) for finding MANY of these glitchless routes years ago.
▪Warning: This game has a problem saving your time trial scores, but there's a consistent workaround. Go offline before starting dealing with time trials. Whenever you get a new best score, quit to the main menu, and return to the time trials section. Quitting to the main menu ensures they're saved. If you've made a lot of progress playing online already, then continue online, but you should still quit to the main menu after every score.
・Clarification: I skipped doing the "Synesthesia" time trial on the principle of avoiding dealing with DLC altogether. I don't have the Pure Time Trials pack, and there is already a video on that: • Video

・Context: I am not the best at this game, but I'm a big fan. Since noone made this video in the near decade the game's been out, I did it myself, despite all the clumsy errors that would inevitably go into it. Took me a few days of struggle, but by my amateur standards, it was totally worth it.
・Advice: If you want help with the 50 stars trophy/achievement, my advice is: get 2 stars in 19 time trials, and 3 stars in only the remaining 4 time trials (50 stars total). Easiest 4 time trials to get 3 stars in (imo), are: "Playground One", "Flight", "Office" and "Convoy Two".

I am trying to complete these time trials, but whenever I complete them, my ghost and star rating doesn't save. Can anyone help me?
Yes I can help! The same thing was happening to me. Here's a workaround to make them save 100% of the time.
1. Go offline before entering time trials. You want to do all time trials offline.
2. Whenever you succesfully complete a time trial and are sent back to the time trial menu, press back until you go to the MAIN menu. Going to the main menu makes them save 100% of the time.
If you were playing online and have already saved many time trials online, then just keep playing online, but follow the second step.

Man, you make this look so easy. All of the new players, who are interested in unlocking the Plat/1000G, don't be fooled: this guy is an absolute pro, and these trials are NOT a piece of cake. Those of us, who have finished them once upon a time, can testify that these trials are a b**ch 😂. Heads up before you attempt them. Watch your blood pressures 😂.
I'm casually going for them right now. You aren't kidding, they truly are a nightmare. But the calm soundtrack keeps me from picking up my whole xbox and chucking it out the window

Thanks for posting this, seeing someone else approach these trials differently made me realise I was getting stuck in a similar approach instead of utilizing more elements of the levels.

These are the most frustrating things I've ever done in any video game ever. Fuck time trials
there is a slow motion glitch. when you are about to TOUCH the last checkpoint press start and restart the time trial. takes a few tries :D
And the speedruns? Chapter 2 and 9 made me fucking swear every fucking word.
To those attempting these 3 star runs: playground three is one of the worst. Save it for last, don’t lose confidence if you dont get it right away
You can always tell if someone is pro by the way they hit the stairs in Edge.
I hated doing playground 3 omg.

This is super helpful as I’m trying to plat this game before I play Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. But Jesus Playground Three is a fucking nightmare. I’m skipping it for now lol

I got platinum for this game back in 2011 but recently bought time trials so I can get its DLC trophies done finally. Such a shame all my 3 stars are gone, I guess I got those offline and since I lost all my saved data I have to replay all again to reach 90 stars lol
Does getting the dlc make the 50 stars trophy easier? I heard something like you can buy stars or something like that, or the dlc trials will also count etc. I cant fully remember
@@RatedRRaj you get extra levels so you get extra stars, but DLC maps are harder I guess. In my case I got 3 stars on all maps except 2. I kept playing after getting 100% because I was having fun trying to improve my records. If you are going for 90 stars trophy you dont have to get 3 stars in all maps
@@shopo6847 Ah thanks for the info. And no, I’m only going to go for the platinum as I’ve just bought this game again since I really enjoyed getting the platinum for Mirrors Edge Catalyst a few months ago. I might give the dlc trophies a go too.
@@shopo6847 Yeah that was very stupid design. They should have just asked players to get a couple of stars in just the dlc instead of asking them to combine the data.

Late but detailed reply
The base game has 23 trials (aka 69 stars).
The DLC has 10 trials (aka 30 stars for a total of 99 stars maximum), assuming you have the free PS3 exclusive Synthesia, without which the limit would be 96.
The base game's trophy/achievement list requires 50 stars but the DLC requires 90 stars, leaving room for 9 missed stars only. Getting the DLC trials would make the 50 star thing very easy as you wouldn't need to try hard. For example, you could get 2 stars in 17 trials of your choosing and a single star in the remaining 16 trials and you'd get the trophy. But getting the DLC is a whole other story. You could do that one by getting 3 stars in 24 trials of your choosing and 2 stars in the remaining 9 trials (for a total of 90 stars).

En el time trial no deberían aparecer cristales. Qué raro. Y si te refieres al último giro que hizo el del video, debes hacer el salto de pared de 180° y girar hacia la derecha rápidamente mientras encoges las piernas

Wow, so many shortcuts I didn't know of. 4:00 I'm thankful especially for this. I knew there was a way to get up through those scaffolds but I just couldn't do it with wall runs, turns out it was 180 degree switch jumps.

Sure, you can use some small clips if you give me credit/link for my video. I myself used a lot of strategies from a youtuber named Upsilon though, so don't assume I actually found all of these. I mentioned that in the description.

20:19 Wait wat, where are all the glasses on the walls here? I have glasses on both the top and 2nd from top floors in my map.
Take your time to break them and when you restart, they won't be there. Unless you quit to menu and re-enter. That will make them spawn again.

Playground three took me 3 hours
Its the worst shit
What blows my mind is even with how fast your runs are, there is still a way to shave off a few seconds on some of them. I’ve gotten partly addicted to reducing the time on some of my runs even if they were essentially perfect. This game makes me understand why speedrunners do what they do lol
Also, doing a side dash gives you a speed boost which can save milliseconds between checkpoints.
I know about the side dash but it felt like an exploit so I avoided it. Plus it's hard on console. The only exploit-ish trick I used was the wallrun kick to create solid ground, but I didn't jump off it, as that would also count as an exploit in my book. Did that only twice (in Reflex Redux).
@@babbisp1 I wouldn’t consider the side dash an exploit tbh. It’s implemented in the game mechanics itself and allows you to reach near max speed after doing one. I usually have to do two in a row to reach max speed, unless I already had some kind of momentum going before hand. What is an exploit is the way speedrunners on PC do it where they combine both speed dash and jumps to go beyond the normal speed limit.
I never heard of the wallrun kick before though. That one definitely sounds like an exploit for sure from the way you describe it.

When you do a wallrun kick, solid ground is created for a split second in Faith's feet. You can use that to jump, while technically in mid-air. Speedrunners do it all the time.
I didn't use that, but I did the wallrun kick itself just to create solid ground. It put me closer to the actual floor which eliminated the need for rolling, which would waste time. I was desperately looking for ways to cut time in that trial lol

Nvm. You have to break the glass preemptively. Even then, the shortcuts are so good you’ll still probably get 3 stars

In 2008, DICE partnered with Sony to release an all new "Pure Time Trials" map exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The content launched with the "Pure Time Trials" DLC and was free to download for all PS3 players.

EA Digital Illusions CE released the first and only Mirror's Edge DLC on January 29th 2009, "Pure Time Trials". It consisted of eight new Time Trial maps. The pack initially launched on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 with a price of $10USD. It has since seen subsequent price drops and is now available for $5USD.
On PC, the downloadable content is exclusive to the Origin edition of the game.
@@babbisp1 Yeah, I tried it on PSN and Synesthesia is indeed still stated to be PS3 exclusive (and free to download,but still needs Pure Time Trial DLC I think) and at least it's not available on PC version.
