For those who don't know the significance of this area in Mirrors Edge.
In the game, the cities are devoid of plant life apart from one or two locations that have cherry blossoms or small pot plants. There are no green parks with lakes and rivers (only saltwater oceans). Just concrete, steel and glass. In fact, outside the cities, in the grey lands there is only small rough ground, villages, and vast mining sites that dig for uranium. Truly bleak.
Throughout the game, you hear of rumors that there are water shortages and then when you finally get inside this pillar Shard tower, you see an atrium with trees, vines, birds and waterfalls of freshwater pouring down. Despite there being barely any for the population to drink.

@@gamediaries1429 They even mention it on the radio when you approach it that there is some 'void' in the tower. No one knows whats in there apart from the city elites.
@@njcummins Interesting you say that because 'voids' in big buildings IRL are interesting in its own right, especially in major cities where land and real estate prices are out of control: what better way to display your wealth than to build your building extra large just to fill them with open space and atriums?
So does this mean the city elites in the shard are keeping this water in here for the plants and the birds in here? And maybe this is the final remainder of plants at least in that area (meaning as in everywhere in glass and the greylands)

This is hella beautiful, one thing that truly stands out from this game is the graphics, i can't imagine how hard the creators must have worked on it. And the music holy shit...the music is just heavenly, makes me feel like i'm living a life i never thought i could live.
When I listen this track, I fell very strange, I think about all the trees in the future australia are extinct, and I really appreciate this game, but thinking about the regression is a true terror to me, I don't know why. Sorry for my bad english.

I remember sitting on a rooftop of the building I worked at with my laptop, putting my headphones on and listening to this masterpiece. It was a beautiful summer evening, the cityscapes beneath shimmered in golden sunlight, birds streaked past and the mundane metropolis's life continued below. But in that moment it was just me, this music and a whirl of thoughts.
Now, it feels like it was worlds away and a several eons ago. Yet, every time I immerse myself in this music, this warm nostalgic feeling floods me, I can almost shed a tear.
Everything was so different. The world was different. I was different. Naive, maybe. Unaware of what'll happen to me here, in the future.
It was one of the most beautiful and touching moments of my entire life. Sunset, rooftop, mirror's edge music and the feeling of freedom.
I may not enjoy Catalyst as a Mirror's Edge game, but dear God, it can be beautiful at times and combined with the music - or videos like yours - it can make all the difference.

Thank you very much, this is heavenly. This part of music is my favorite from The Shard track. It somehow brings the feeling of the "lost heaven" where Corporate Families lived divorced from reality before Faith broke their usual life order. And the sunset time perfectly fits the music

Yeah I changed the time using "MEC-TC" and am using the better skies mod for this video. Figured I'd make them a bit different than my past video from this mission.
@@GamingAmbience do you still remember what time of day you set it to? im trying to see if i can get it to look the same but i cant quite get the same brightness
@@danieldu7 It was during sunset, but I was also using the BetterSkiesHDR mod on top of a reshade I created, which I don't have anymore, but it wasn't anything crazy, just mainly removed the fogginess in the game and added a bit of vibrance.
There is a mod out there called MEC-TC which allows you to change the time, or freeze time.

Has there been any information about it? I watched the EA Play thing and was disappointed there wasn't anything I cared about besides the Star Wars Squadron game which I am only half excited to try because I ain't that big of a SW's fan.
@@GamingAmbience Don't know. I just google about it every month or so when it comes to my mind. I'm sure they'll have something. When it comes out it comes out. Soundtracks are enough for now :)
It's a shame. Mirror's Edge Catalyst would have strongly benefitted from DLC, but it didn't happen. Expanding the sandbox would have been great
@@GamingAmbience Maybe that's a pessimistic opinion, but EA becoming a company of sports simulators and multiplayer shooters. Very sad that they own and don't develop some great brands like Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, SimCity. Obviously, these franchises can't make super profits like FIFA and Battlefield conveyors
maybe if somebody else makes a good parkour game in the same vein, EA will get jealous and announce it just like they announced Skate 4 because of Tony Hawk
Simply an Elysium. I truly don't understand why so many people hated this game, giving it extremely low marks at Metacritic.
I doubt that they're either gamers at all or really have any video game talent. Play what you enjoy regardless of Metacritic. I have 250 plus hours in this game. It opens up SO much when you know how to do the slow fall glitch. This game really shines when you're messing around doing your own thing. There's a lot to do and see in ME:C.

Igual, pero lo aterrador de la historia, para mi es la regresión, tal vez sea hermoso vivir en Glass, pero si nos fijamos bien, la vida animal y vegetal es muy escasa y esto creo se debe a la destrucción de la capa de ozono que mencionan en el juego :/
@@ecoterra8497 Claro, es más el juego se trata de eso jaja. Que hay un gobierno totalitario que lo que quieren es que no molestes y solo estés "Tranquilo" con lo que tenés. Pero no podemos negar que muchos de nosotros seríamos felices aún con esa "represión" y la falta de fauna y flora. Ya que esos paisajes del juego actualmente son muy difíciles de lograr, pero los que tienen algo cercano (países asiáticos) por lo visto les encanta aún con la polución ambiental que tienen.
