I can't even find the words to express why this game and those ambients mean so much to me. It's a combination of my life-long dreams, imagination and nostalgia but it still feels wrong to call it that way. It's something more. Something good.

Listening to MEC soundtrack while taking a slow stroll around the city at night, watching the cityscape with its low nocturnal activity, the odd car driving by with its headlights on, and the urban architecture as the backdrop takes you to another place, it's a surreal journey really.
This is exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you! The version from the OST is good, but it starts going _hard_ after a few minutes and that's not good bedtime material.
I honestly think I could make it better- which I might. This was one of the earlier videos I did for the game and I was still experimenting. Glad you found what you were looking for!
I love this, but you know what I would love the most? A 1 hour extended music with sights of The View district during Act 3. That place is just beautiful, especially at night and dawn. One of the best memories of the game, and one of the best ASMR moments I've ever experienced.
If it wasnt for the covid bs I would have never found this channel. Been working from home for 3 yrs now & this channel has become my working music & I love Mirrors edge. I wish it was a game for PSVR2

what would be super nice is you capture some of these tunes while the menu is open, a more ethereal stripped down version plays simultaneously, it's a pretty sweet touch by the producers and game designers

I love every single aspect of this game from the bottom of my heart, especially the OST. Oh man, Solar Fields is my absolute best contemporary composer, I HARDLY think anyone will ever take his 1st place. Also I equally love this channel for the single fact we have extended Solar Fields soundtrack here :)

Your mixing is great, but i do feel some of the tracks lack enough be as enjoyable as this one. Any chance you could mix both acts together? Or perhaps an extended medly?Just for some progression. It's probebly a ton of work though so Id understand if you'd rather work on other projects. Eitherway these are all sick. ME:C may be lacking as a product, but i truly believe Solar Field scaptured the perfect soundtrack to the idea of ME. And these mixes really do his work justice.
Hey thanks! It's funny because this song has the least amount of parts and layers to it, most of my more other district videos are 30-40 minutes long or maybe longer I can't remember with audio layers popping in and out every 3-4 minutes throughout the video to keep it fresh. As for doing medlys and combining the different acts - honestly never thought about it heh. Right now I just want to keep doing it this way for a while and I'll see after what's next if anything. I used to give away MP3's on Patreon until my main storage drive crashed last year and I lost 80%-90% of my archive, so I had to stop that and turned the Patreon into place where people could pledge for using ad-blockers or for any other reason. I can access all my raw data still (it's nearing 6TBs) through Google, so once I can get the proper storage I will start archiving and converting everything into HQ MP3''s or FLAC files and host it somewhere perhaps, but I am no where near being able to do that right now.
Gaming Ambience Recent subscriber & you probably won't see this but I just wanted to say thank you. Nah I do lots of non-music stuff as well, I started this channel purely on only ambience but started getting requests for music stuff too and now I do both. I have a few non-music Mirror's Edge videos up now and will do more in the future, I just want to get the really hard stuff finished.

There's a track that plays there that wasn't included in the official soundtrack. It sounds similar to "Rebecca" and "Aurore" and I haven't found a loop of it anywhere. Oh wow, I haven't played ME:C (yet), mainly because I never got into the first one, and also because this one got such bad reviews. But if there's one thing that would convince me to play it, it's the music. I've noticed you uploading more and more tracks from this game...Do you think it's worth a playthrough??
I'd definitely give it a try, a short game sadly but still fun even after you finish the main story. I also would say it's a bit under-appreciated and I was a bit surprised on how much I enjoyed it. Glad people here kept suggesting I give it a try. I also never finished the first game, I enjoyed it but it didn't grab me in like Catalyst did, probably a game I'll give another chance soon.
Problem with ME:C is that it is very different from its predecessor, to the point that you'd have a hard time finding out how exactly it is a prequel. That's why many people disliked it, in part. The story was way too "outta nowhere". Also, you had more mechanics aside from parkour, and some found it distracting. I honestly found it more enjoyable, even the soundtrack's better - Sure, ME had a kick ass song with Still Alive, and various remixes, but ME:C has more variety and it suits the different districts. Give it a try, just don't rush though the story, or you'll finish the game rather quickly. Explore.

Definitely 100%. You will not regret it. The cutscenes are so lifelike and feels like I'm playing a movie, the soundtracks are astonishing, and more importantly Faith is awesome.

1st game had so much more iconic and almost palpable atmosphere , in 2nd whole city looks like a giant playground with too many elements, and weird lighting , maybe unreal 3 engine gave it that unique look and feel in 1st game
@@rtx2080ubermacht Can agree. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is one of those games that don't age and somehow stay relevant. Unless another competitor rises up, Mirror's Edge could reign supreme in the small yet significant world of parkour gaming.

It's a shame how much worse the art direction is. Darker, more orangish. The original was so good: bright, alive, vibrant. They need to go back to the old artstyle with the next game in the series.

It's one continuous loop of ambient music that plays throughout a game level. You can notice repetition in the melody every ~15-20 minutes.
