@1:51:09 Just above your hand in the video, there's a loose screw resting on the motherboard's RGB panel. It stays there until you lift the case and it rolls into oblivion. I hope you were able to retrieve it. If someone in chat already brought it to your attention, please disregard this message. Great video, btw.

This was a really fun stream. Enjoyed it. Really nice looking case, definitely lost of room. And the colors of the components and case all go well together. The RGB also not being overwhelming is nice to see. I always love building PCs right up until the dreaded Windows installation. Man I wish more games supported/worked on Linux (looking at you Bungie).
Observation: Interesting thing, I made a joke in the chat about it being a Let's Game It Out video. I know there was a reply to it, but the reply got deleted. Unlike Twitch chat replay, if a comment is deleted during the stream on RUclips, it never shows up in the replay. Which is unfortunate because I only caught the first part before it went away.

Would LOVE to see a follow up video, where you take this build and upgrade it to a full open custom waterloop - GPU waterblock (the dual active back plates look amazing), CPU waterblock, and a PCIe5 M.2 waterblock, on a single D5 pump with two 420mm radiators.
A step by step video, which we could follow at home, would be incredibly useful, and the huge advantages of water cooling (quieter, less power, high thermal headroom, greater stability, longer hardware shelf life, better looking if you use acrylic RGB blocks and transparent tubing) are very attractive!

High end doesn't really have to be that expensive. You can get a system with pretty much the same specs for under 3k if you switch all the ANUS branded parts for other brands, don't go for a 10G lan board and don't get a pcie 5.0 SSD all of which make no difference when gaming.

Pro tip, Don't install RAM that requires exerting pressure on the board while the board is not fully supported. Install it on the Mobo tray or even better on a hard flat surface. Pressing down like that while the board isn't fully supported can over flex the board and crack solder joints. I've been building PC's for almost 30 years, 10 years of that professionally, and I built probably hundreds the same way out of laziness - only 3 ever had the problem but believe me once you've eaten the cost of a third £500-800 board just moving the box out of the way seems like a good investment.

Sure now i have gigabit LAN, but before late 2020 4G internet was the only option, so the more data i can save by keeping things internal the better, this is why i also have a plex server that records local TV instead of downloading them using streaming services, we used to have satellite TV but the neighbor's tree became too big, and it was the push i needed to cut call cords.
To be overly clear, its all legally recorded, local TV is actually pretty entertaining

The packaging that MSI sends for high-end motherboards resembles wedding favors.
I use mine to hold screws, small cables and computer manuals, just to open it once in a while.
I'm a little dumbfounded that I no longer see the two capacitors between the Ram and the CPU, which from the Unify to the X570-Ace Max we liked to recognize so much, but I don't think it's to save costs! Obviously they are no longer needed. If Msi Center worked as well as MSI motherboards, it would be the best software in the world!
I'm also happy to see G.Skill memories, which I also chose for my AM4, I'm almost sure they are Samsung B-die too: truly a choice without compromises for quality. Mine work at 1.45V, which is not very little, but they deserve.
The m2 sink is so shiny you have to close the windows. It is curious that despite being a very high quality heatsink, the Sabrent has a lesser known competitor that many times surpasses it, and it is the Acidalie, which has also been on the market for a long time and has a similar shape and materials.
Maybe it's related to the fear for short circuits, but I don't understand why the standard heatsinks on the motherboards are made of aluminum, when an aluminum frame could be enough, possibly, to be able to make the body of copper.
There are really nice cases on the market, but as long as a 1080 radiator, or a 1260 radiator, is enough for me, I don't think I'll abandon the benches, and even now, even if I had to assemble a Threadripper on top of an E-atx, I think I'd go for the old Thermaltake P5. But if a 1260 isn't enough and you need another 360 or 480, a case like this becomes a great option, even if, at my eyes, the View 71 remains very difficult to beat.
Always nice to see the rear fan perfectly aligned with the motherboard vrm heatsinks...
...however maybe I'm writing too much!
    Compliments!

7800X3D + 4090 is supposed to be the best combo for VR games and VRChat. But the latest adrenaline driver update was supposed to fix some of the VR problems Radeon was having. I wonder what’s better for vr now, the 4090 or the 7900XTX?

Sadly AMD has bad decoding if you have wireless VR like Quest 2, even when the graphics are maxed out and you have 120 fps it looks really bad, especially in fast-moving games. A sold my 6950 xt today and bought a 4090, all horrible artifacts are gone, I read about bad decoding before buying the 6950 but did not believe it, a horrible mistake.. But if you have wired VR, AMD is probably a much better price/performance, Nvidia is just disgustingly expensive, absolutely only buy if you play wireless VR or love RT.

    Great vid! I have a question, isn't that a PCIe Gen 4 SSD? Is there a reason a Gen 5 wasn't used?

I just built this PC but with different brands on the components hah, 4090 gamerock midnight kaleidoscope oc, 7800x3d, same ram, msi tomahawk wifi and noctua nh-u12a, fractal torrent compact. 2 x 1TB m.2, Win 11. I have a feeling my rig is half the price of this insane monster o_O!! I spent months finding the best deals for all the components, started on Black Friday with the torrent, and ended today with the 7800x3d :D I mostly play VR so I actually need the damned power of the thing. But Subnautica VR mod with my computer and a Quest 2 (soon Quest 3) is beyond any other experience.

Putting that chip on that motherboard is like washing 1 sock on a heavy duty cycle.

Did you check if your RAM has thermal tape or paste? And if it doesn't, add it. RAM manufacturers haven't been adding thermal anything to their ram sticks, users need to do it themselves. *Drops the ram temps by upto -10C°*

One thing I found out recently is you can setup with a Microsoft Account and then once in Windows just switch it back to a Local account. Was surprised this doesn't disable pin login either.

    I'm here trying to build a $3K 4090 build rn. So far I got the 4090 FE ($1,600) and 2TB WD 850X ($80).
For the CPU I'm looking to get the 7800X3D or 13900K. Either way I'm looking at around $1K for the CPU + MOBO + RAM combo. I'm not really saving much or not at all by going AMD so we'll see. I do like to have some production cores just in case I need it in the future but for the most part I will be gaming on it only.

@@dg7438 13900K. Decided that I wanted to use faster RAM @ 7800M/T vs 6000M/T. It's stable so that's all I care about. I ended up spending close to $4K. I'm glad I did it when I did tho cause some parts went up in price especially the GPU of course. You picked up an awesome GPU btw, hopefully you didn't spend an arm and a leg tho. 😊

@@volcalstone Oh, nice build! I forgot about that aspect, but I just want the overall Intel flexibility, so will get the 14900K. I scopped it up for $2100, new, open box. I think it's a good deal looking at the other prices 😲I didn't want to wait any longer. Happy gaming!

I have Ryzen 5 5600 on b350 motherboard. I have ordered 7900 xtx to play on 4k LG c1 oled. Is it better for me to stick to this CPU, upgrade to Ryzen 5 5800x3d or change platform to AM5, Ryzen 7 7800x3d?
