This honestly broke me. I think it's odd the calvary is called for cases like Gabby Petito (FBI included). When checking the comments people blame the news outlets but don't want to take accountability either. The viewers/audience also tend to be very much bias. We all need to reflect & look at what is within our own hearts as well. I pray peace comes to the families of the missing.

It is sad when things like this happen. (Note to all who play around with strangers online). But this was in 2008, so did she have a smartphone, was she in social media? Who had she been talking to prior? Seems she knew the person(s) she may have left with.

It just humiliate for law enforcement to tell you directly in your face that's your child do not mean anything just because they are black. What's is a shame like the woman in the video said when my child disappeared I did not get the media cover as this white woman and white child received. So therefore you know the law enforcement it's not looking for missing black kids they don't care if they missing it just one less black person they have to deal with.

Thisvis aggravating. Police in general seem to not care or blow off a missing teen which is awful enough as they are young and may not have thought their actions through even if they ran away. This takes the cake though. Hope changes will happen soon. No missing person should be ignored.
It should not matter if they think a 15- or 16-year ran away. They can't make that decision to live on their own.

Here is the problem, society has a way of saying oh they are adolescents they ran away. When you are under the age of 18 years of age you do not have the right to just wander off and walk away from home. In the real world, a predator will always easily prey upon a child. I understand having the freedom to wander or leave without telling anyone as an adult, but too often when the parents and family state it is out of character for that person or adult to act in such fashion; for some reason, it is hardly heard by the authorities.
If they are not home and they are under the age of 18, then that means they are endangered and should be treated as such regardless if there was a sign of struggle. Too often I hear officials use that excuse but the truth is that if you are a parent you are responsible for that child until they turn 18. So if they are not home the assumption should always be they are endangered. Any police department, Federal government agency that decides not to investigate a minor missing shouldn't be employed in that profession as mandated reporters/investigators of children in danger and it is apparent to me it is being reported as child/adult in danger.
