I feel like a lot of modern comic writers have no life experience, and they've never actually developed any real-world social skills. You can see it when they write that super cringey self-impressed humor that no one finds funny in real life.
This! It's like their personality is solely shows like friends and mad about you blarg lol. That's why I was disappointed when Tynion left Batman, I enjoy his style, same with Zdarsky on Spider-Man and Daredevil
@@ChrisMacPresents Ah okay, I kinda gave up on modern comics awhile ago. I quit Batman several years ago during the Tom King run. I dropped out of Spidey years ago - not long after Brand New Day. I think the last DD I read was Quesada's DD Father.
The only modern comics I get is Larry Hama's GI Joe and I still keep up with the main X-Men title (I don't know why - I hate everything X-Men since Krakoa.) I still the buy the occasional throwback series, like when Claremont or DeFalco come back for a mini-series.
@SamGuthrie1977 I was definitely digging on X-Men Legacy, but I've decided I'd rather use that cash to get more back issues and keys. If you find collected trades of Zdarskys DD or Spider-Man run, it's worth it
If this ends with Carter Burke selling out Wey-Yu for Walmart, all fits in with Joss Whedon gags.
