    Great vlog! Really shows the stress that comes with stepping up to a bigger game. The stress comes from perspective of the value of money. It always seems to me that at bigger tables with players experienced with that game, they treat their chips as chips and less about their value. If you fixate on the value, it affects your decisions for better or worse.

  • @charliem4867

    • @tehblogger
      @tehblogger 3 года назад

      @@BradOwenPoker I actually think the river call is OK the way you played it. It's hard for you to have any boats here and I don't think you can have many hands that block his boat combos either. Maybe every now and then you can have a flopped flush with the 8 of diamonds, and those hands are better calls, but that's it. In that spot it's probably fine just to call the higher flushes and fold the lower ones.
      Might be better to call the turn and raise the river, though, it keeps your range a lot wider.

      Why such a large river bet?
      You bet nearly pot on a three flush paired board.
      Doesn't this polarize your hand and yet you aren't really polar?
      A merge?
      With only 4k back I would have expected a jam or small bet. Even if he has an Ace x any two pair would be counterfeited without a 5.
      You don't really have many sets here.
      Value owned.
      I didn't finish watching the hand but I gather from comments the opponent had 8s full. Tough luck but once you made that bet it was all over, he's always jamming and you can never fold.
      Btw, I'd also have expected some c bet on that flop to protect against a one card flush, get some value.
      That's why you are playing and I'm watching.
      Really would love a better breakdown of this hand.
      Call in to Bart, this I think could be an interesting spot to do a deep dive into.
