@@BenjisHobbies They came out in the early years during Space Crusade, but when was not mentioned ever since GW came up with the idea for Necrons. Midwinter minis did a short video about them, that I of cause can't find now 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I've been watching this colab on Josh and Luke's channels, and it looks to me like Mirfield Miniatures is pretty reliable in stocking "grade B" pre-owned miniatures; not perfect, but all decent. I sometimes buy built, pre-owned miniatures on eBay or from Facebook Marketplace, but a lot of plastic models are damaged with globbed-on polystyrene cement or they have missing or broken parts, so it's a bit of a minefield. So yes, I can get them even cheaper than from Mirfield Miniatures, but it's not quite so risk-free or convenient. One downside to buying built secondhand is that you don't usually get the extras that came on the sprues, and the models may not have the right gear. Lately I've bought a heap of Dark Eldar; I don't collect them or anything, but I bought some stuff that was going really cheap and somehow I've ended up with enough for a sizeable army. They have a random assortment of weapons, but I just painted them as is, because I don't know much about what they are supposed to be equipped with. I have enough spare arms and weapons though that I could have changed those bits - that's something I like about GW 40K sprues, they give you plenty of spare arms and weapons.
Cool idea for that store to sell second hand armies and not only single minis. I should propose that idea to my local shop, I bet some people would like the opportunity to get their stuff in new loving hands
I would love to but it’s a bit out of my way unfortunately, by about 270 miles. If I’m around Leeds / Bradford / Wakefield in the future I’ll try and get over to Mirfield to check it out though.
7:09 Have you tried sprue cutters? I haven't tried it with cheap sprue cutters, but I have a pair of expensive (and dangerous!) Tamiya sprue cutters that I find is great for removing awkward parts like that. They are so fine and sharp that they cut in very deep and the arm would probably just pop away from the body with two or three careful snips.
Loved your selection of the Tau army. I would feel the same way about using someone else’s paint job, I’d want mine to be cohesive in color too. The one model that looked like it was about to fall over, looked like the previous owner was styling them fighting like John Wick, diving through the air. 😂

2nd had is the way to go though how do you guys feel about 3d printing etc?
I mean, the video was never about buying all the rules etc so I’m not sure what the point you’re making is?
We’ve all got 3D printers and I did a discussion in one of my video a while ago about using 3D printed parts with my Middle Earth miniatures. Nothing against them at all. I’m not a fan, however, of being edgy and using a 3D printer to be ‘anti-GW’ though.
“Cheating wanker”
Wise words
Haha! I like to think so 😂
Haha "cheating wanker"
Just buy a 3d printer
I have one 🤷🏼♂️
Thumbs down for the ridiculous "shocked face" in the preview every youtuber does these days....
Thanks… So despite the hours (days?) of recording, painting and editing that went in to this video you decide to give me a thumbs down for the thumbnail? 😐
I hate the Tau because the faction was just a lazy attempt to attract weeaboos to the hobby and it failed miserably. They need a drastic redesign.
