I LOVED this song of theirs back in the 90s!!!! This song and Locked in a Cage are their best song!! Been a Skillet fan since day 1.
and people say skillet is a band of Satanists??! wow people are messed up sometimes...I've always loved skillet and I'm a follower of God.
Religious people are weird. They'll look at other religious people and be like, "their crazy is crazier than my crazy so that makes me feel better about my crazy."
This pretty much the main issue with Christianity, their hypocrisy, even THE CHRISTIAN HIMSELF (John Cooper) despises it

The first Skillet song I ever heard turned me into a fan back in the day. It was on the WWJD album though and a little different. I loved the version on that album way better.

I enjoy older skillet quite a bit over the newer stuff, I felt Comatose was their last good one even though it was very edgy.
I thought like you once, that their early songs were more sincere and more resonating with knowing god, but now I feel it also in their newer songs, give them a chance
Did you think Awake and Alive was where you lost them for listening to their newer stuff? That was my cutoff tbh.
I believe for me it was much later when I first heard feel invincible

@jworcester92 OMG I remember that album...it came with the little WWJD bracelet in it, back when those were the big thing. XD Bleach's 'Epidermis Girl' and this song by Skillet were my 2 favourites from that album.

@dsjd12 Yeah it came out in 1998.
Technically this song came out in 1997 with the WWJD album, but the Hey You, I Love Your Soul did come out in 1998 (you are correct on that) and yes, I am aware that this song is on the album.
Am I the only one that finds it weird how this was the last album of John playing the 6 string bass?

i think the reason why people think some of the skillet songs are about or can apply to relationships and love is because actually when you believe in god, you are having a relationship with him :) he loves you you know...
