Im 6ft4, weight 95kg and have uk 9.5 boots. I ride a 161W DOA. I started out riding a 158 rocker board and quickly realised i was really overpowering the flex, lifting the tips off the snow! As soon as i got larger board, in a flat profile, my riding improved alot!
Great video. These simple formulas are definitely useful for beginners. Once you learn how to snowboard and you progress to at least an intermediate level, then you will (or should) start to notice how length, sidecut, waist width, and flex help advance your riding. And when a board is too short, or too long, too wide, or too narrow, or too soft or too stiff you will immediately notice how it hinders or helps your riding and that is more important than anything. About that time you will also notice that many of these "rules of thumb" are fairly accurate and useful. Always make sure that you ride a board that supports proper mechanics of riding, torsional twist, getting up on edge, fore and aft movement etc. Don't ride a short board because you think it's going to be a shortcut to riding park, it will just set you back and waste time on the hill. Most importantly have fun and shred hard.
I'm 6'1 215lbs. Size 12 boot so XL bindings. My first board was a 162 which I rode well but now I ride a 159W for little more maneuverability as I am learning more freestyle riding.
Did about the same 6’0 180 size 13 foot and was introduced to the sport on a 163 then when I bought my own board I am very happy with my 157 W park board
Just what I was looking for! I am 6'1" and about 220lbs and ride a 164W board and was thinking about switching to a shorter but still Wide board for a bit more agility down the mountian.
@@SearchofSnowboarding I’m 5’11 6’0 190 lbs I want to get a 158 cause that’s what I used to ride when I was younger but I think I should get a 160 or even 161w because I go up and down between 185-220lbs a lot from lifting, but I see people 6’5 210 riding a 158 would I be fine or should I go up?
I’m 6’1 ~210 lbs both my boards are 162w because im really strong, another thing to consider. Used to play college fullback at 240lbs and im like 12% body fat at 210. Point is that’s very different than 6’1 210lb dad bod and snowboarding is the most cardio you do, that guy may be feeling like he’s got to muscle my board around quite a bit especially my ejack knife bc its stiffer. Next board I get im gonna go 159ish tho and have it as a dedicated park board
How do you feel about skill level in this whole equation? Experienced riders, who get tons of performance out of their boards through strong fore-aft movement, often need longer boards to be supported in the tips. For them simply buying stiffer will bring other problems - like lack of board flex to really bend a board into a turn. I think the whole weight range thing is oversimplified and overrated. Length and stiffness are two different things with two different effects. They can't possibly be disconnected. And then there's the whole thing about actual material length and effective edge... A board can easily feel entirely different to what its physical length suggests by altering all those little aspects of board design. Interesting subject. Heavily underexplained by the snowboarding industry. Keep it up! ✌
I'd like to add to this complication that there are some customers who have been raised on the "nose to chin" metric and are afraid to veer away from it. It's can be a real challenge to convince them to try other sizes. And terrain, in my experience, matters. In the Midwest where I am we have small hills with short runs and little if no natural powder. Shorter boards are more appropriate as you need neither float nor stability at speeds you never reach.
I agree. Nice comment. but I think that the video is directed more to beginners, although some of the boards presented are not for beginners or tourists (even though they are selling the Orca everywhere to beginners, which really pisses me off), I think it's an overall guide. But the subject, of course, is for an 1 hour long video because what you said is true, and your videos are very, very fkg good with your really deep dives into the subjects. I've just left a comment talking about my Nitro Santoku, which is 159 while my ideal size would be 156, but you have to size up this board because of the short distance between contatcs points, so this board in 59 feels like a 56. But that's what I am talking about: that board is not for beginners, like a Nidecker play, por instance, which is a very normal board in all aspects, nothing crazy, and it's the type of board to apply a general guide like in this video. Also, there's the riding style and personal preferences. I started to learn to jump big with a 151 and a 153. I am talking about jumps from 8 meters to 16 m (not anymore, I'm fkg old lol), and I loved those boards. I still like to ride short boards, especially pow boards, but also freestyle boards. I always like to have an all mountain board (kind of), like the mentioned Santoku, which yeah, I know, it's not technically all mountain, but that's my point about prefecerences: to me it is. Even though it's supposed to be kind of an "off road" twin, I love it for everything, groomers, side hit sessions, pow, bumpy sht, and park laps included. I also loved its old version, the Überspoon and people hated that board lol. I've got a friend, who is a beast, he is a really really good rider, and he loves a less than 200 bucks Decathlon board that he has lol. We are always joking but the guy loves it. I like stiff boots, and supposedly they are for advanced riders, but Kevin Jones didn't even lace his boots. I can't understand how the fck can you do those things with soft boots, not even properly laced, but again, that's my point. And also he is a genius and I am not lol. I need the gear to help me because I am not a genius, so yeah, I need stiffer boots, but some friends who are much better riders than me, they like very soft sht. I remember I had a 2003 Forum Devun Walsh in 153 (the one with like bionic bugs as graphics) and dude, that thing can't turn lol. It's like they made the same stiffness for all sizes. It's structural strength. That's why an ant won't suffer any fall damage but a huge ship tank can be torn appart by a wave or a skyscrapper bends with the wind, even though steel and concrete are much stronger than an ant.
I feel like videos like these underexplain the idea of snowboard length so much. Took me a while to actually start to understand how a snowboard “length” works, and if anything I feel like these videos are so counter to understanding how you should look at and buy snowboards…
Watching the video I was gonna say that I just use the size guide of the board, looking for my weight in the middle of the range for no compromises. Then if you want something more stable or more playful, size up or down I guess
I'm 5'3 (160cm) 85kg weight (187lb) My first board was Rossi Evader 149 and I had a lot of problems with board "chattering" after I size up to Burton Custom 154 I noticed a huge difference.. board it's so stable not only because it's camber profile now I'm feel more safe because one of the most dangerous times while snowboarding was when I put my weight 70% on my front leg (I ride regular), and for some reason I catch the nose during a edge transition (no powder) It felt like a slingshot effect on my front leg, and it wasn’t fun at all. I felt like I could have broken something because the impact was really strong, even though I didn’t actually fall..
I'm 5'6" 210lb size 9.5 boots 155 Mtn Pig (2019-20) 157.5 Sims Bowlsquad (2022) and a 163W Chamonix Kraken (2020/21) By far my most used is the 163W, surfing thru PNW powder and cruising on gnared out groomers. I prob could have gone shorter on the Squad (flex of 2) and longer on The Pig. I have 6 more older boarda in the upper 150s (156-159) and much prefer the 158s and 9s.
Thanks. Imo height comes as a 3rd variable. A long person will easily transfer his weight over the nose and tail than a shorter person. I always go by foot size weight and height in that order of priority.
I’m 6’4 250lbs and going back to the sport and it’s kind of shocking since I rode a 157 in college when I was 190lbs. Thanks for the idea on the door, I’ll try that out.
Your videos are great ! in this case i dont fully agree with you, at least for me the most important variable is stance width. i ´m 5´9 and have rather short legs. i ride 150 because i have 20inch stance, if i ride longer boards i feel disconfort.
I run between 135cm to 220 cm, given my MOOD, and the Conditions. My Faves have been a 148 cm, Rad-Air Soul, a Joyride EF 153 Twin, a Gordo (still in-use,3 decades later!) FF-151, a Nitro Diablo '94 edition Twin/asym, a Tanker from '00, of 200 cm, a Sims 181 DH and it's Sibling the 1712 S-G, both from '89, a Madds 170 Carbon-top racer from '94, a T-9 'Rasta' 157 Twin from 2014. AS SUCH, I RIDE, on what I've got, and FLOAT/CARVE the best I Can, as I've done since 1975. "PSR" JUST RIDE IT, {BUT FIX YOUR HIGHBACK LEAN ANGLES! DANG IT!} & quit WHINING about it.
I DTuning pretty much every edge except my right heel edge and my left toe edge, regular stance. Pretty much everything is detuned for Park rails but if you need to hit the brakes real fast while you’re on your heel and your toe edge you’re able to. I’m 6 foot 160 pounds size 9.5-10 boots.. I was Road 157 and then I switched up to a 2159 and Academy more of an area to hold prices on I’m from Northern Utah in that 159 a hold of you about powder a lot better than 157 was2 cm doesn’t seem like a lot but they do. Just remember: “You ride the board, the board does not ride you”
@ just trying to lend some advice to anyone with edge questions.. so they can still have fun on resort park rails.. and have the ability to stop on a dime if they need to pull that “E” break. Good Looks- have a radical season, if u visit Utah, HMU
Help definitely needed, I'm 5' 9" weight is 130 with a 9.5 boot, is a jones 158W a good size for me? I can get up and down the mountain good but I often wonder if the board feels slightly heavy..any help is appreciated, thanks
im 6'1 230 size 13 boot currently ride a pulse 162w Im trying to decide between the ride Ride superpig 154 and 158 wanting something super nimble that can hold a carve hoping the stiffer board will help with the slight wait difference
Im 6'3' i weigh about 260lbs and my boot size is 13 i got a 165W its my first board i did try to find one that was like a 166W but the biggest i could find was a 165W that was a board for beginners
I’m 5’8” 190lbs. What size board do you think i should get. I’m completely new and have only gone once but i had a lot of fun. Mainly wanna just go down the hill and do some park.
Just ordered the Capita Mercury 157 and have doubts. I’m 10.5 US and ride +15 / +0 as stance. Will i get toe/heel drag witht this? Got the Burton MOTO BOA Men’s boots. Should I return the board before using it and get the 158w or 156w?
I'm not very tall, but i'm pretty heavy. Would you recommend volume shifted board slike the libtech orca or the salomon dancehaul to someone like me? Or should i get a longer board?
Should I consider the weight of Backpack/Boots/helmet to choose a board for Backcountry? For example I weight 75kg with base layer, with all gear up should be around 80-82 kg.
It's a good question but I'd say no. I guess that the gear extra weight is foreseen, like the bindings weight also, because the weight guide is a range, not for a very specific weight. Maybe not the backpack though, but you won't notice any difference unless your backpack is more than 10 kg. I've been snowboarding with 32 Kg on my back (most of it food for many days at a shelter), and yeah, it's not great lol. But other than that I do a lot of freeride and I often wear a big airbag backpack (the biggest from Mammut), which when empty it weights a lot already, plus food and water, cameras, knife, extra goggles, a light jacket, etc, and I am very comfortable with my boards sizes, which are from 145 (Arbor Terrapin and K2 Split Bean), to Nitro Santoku 159 (you have to size up this board because the distance between contact points is short, so a 159 feels like a 156). I also ride a Jones Tweaker in 154, many times with backpack, and it's fine. I am 176 cm and 74 Kg, feet size 9. As you see, a 154 like the Tweaker is not ideal for my weight, in theory, but I always liked short boards more than my ideal 156/57. It's very personal at the end of the day.
Hello there lads. I am 6ft. 185 lb, us 9.5 boots and I bought Yes Standard 156. Its volume shifted twin. I wanted something as all mountain as it gets. Did I choose the right size if it only come up to my middle of my neck?
I just bought a jones MT 156w. My specs are 5’10 185lbs boot 11.5. Pairing with large union stratas. It was between the 156w and the 159w. The waist difference between these two boards is 0.2 cm. I chose the 156w for more maneuverability. Am I ok with the board I chose? Thank you.
Hé man! I am 179 cm tall and I am 73 kilo’s. I want to buy the jones mind expander twin but I don’t know the size. Should I go for the 154 or the 158? I am 17 Tho, so I think I Will be a little heavier in the future. I hope you can give me an advice.
Damn it dude. I just bought my self Yes Standard 156 2022. I am 6 feet as well and 184.5 lbs. Board sizing suggests that I am right in the middle if the weight range. But the board is only goes up to my Adams apple. I am scared thst i picked the wrong size. It is volume shifted though, so maybe i wanst wrong after all
Hmm.. If Im 5ft7, 185 lbs what size of 2025 proto ultra should I get? 157 or 160? I think that people wit similar weight ride shorter one but I fit right in the middle of 160 specification... Also this channel is very underrated! I watched like half of your videos in past few days :)
158 will be plenty big. When beginning snowboarding it is even good to go down a little in size for your first board so you have more maneuverability. So at 170 lbs, mabe look at boards from 154 to 158. Just make sure they are actual beginner boards since they will have camber profiles suited for new riders. I always suggest the Ride Agenda since that is what I started out with and it is a decent board while you progress to more intermediate and advanced riding.
I ride a 154, 157 and a 159.. The size differences is so dependent on the board and the company. The tip and tail can add or take away 2cm. No problem. The width of the snowboard is what does it for me. To be honest... its the shape not the size.... It's the motion of the ocean not the boat. take it from an EX TWS snowboard tester. The quiver killer does not exist.
I am 181 cm tall (5´11) and weigh 85 kg (187lbs) . I have been using a 154 cm directional snowboard for 13 years, and I want to switch to the Capita DOA. I am choosing between the 156 or 158 cm options. What do you recommend?
I’m 5’7, 180lbs, looking for my first non-rental board. I’m a former pro super-G skier but kinda new to snowboarding. Any recommendation about what size to go for guys? Thinking about 159 nidecker escape
I went to an indoor snow mountain. They gave me a 153w Burton board. I was researching online based on my weight 225 I should be around a 162. I’m 5’8” size 11 shoe. Length wise would that be too long?. Sorry I’m a beginner looking into this new hobby
Any where in between your nipples and your nose, It all depends what you want/ how you ride but if your starting off I would go right in the middle or closer to for the stability
Im 6ft and weigh 195 pounds and ride a 157W CAPiTA DOA. Is it too small for me? should I scale up to a 159W? Am I going to feel the difference? Is it worth buying the new board?
You are lighter and shorter than me and I just got a Yes greats 156. I am 1.90m(6.2ft) and 80kgs (176lbs) and now I wonder, is the board too short for me? Should I change to the 159 model?
Hi! something off topic, but maybe you can help me.. I went to a store and tried burton ion size 10.5 and 10 US (9.5 or 9 UK), the 10.5 boot seemed to fit me best, but my toes didn't touch the front of the boot , size 10 seemed a little tight, tried with socks snowboarding. should I take the size 10 due to the fact that it will be wider or should I choose the 10.5 so that they are good for me? I ride between 7 and 15 days per season.
Try a different shop. If you get your boots wrong, bindings and board won't matter. You will 100% guaranteed eirher stunt your progression, or have a 💩 time. Don't compromise with thicker socks, or anything like that either. If you're in the UK, go to TSA Tamworth. 👍
I’m 5’10 and 180lbs and I have a lib tech or a size 147 Is this a right size for me or too small? I’ve tried the 150 but it felt too wide and slow for me
I’m 5’11 6’0 190 lbs I want to get a 158 cause that’s what I used to ride when I was younger but I think I should get a 160 or even 161w because I go up and down between 185-220lbs a lot from lifting, but I see people 6’5 210 riding a 158 would I be fine or should I go up?
Hi. I'm trying to choose snowboard for boots size 14 us Im 6.1, 164lb, Snowboard boots size 14 (K2 Maysis) and Union Force XL - bindings (I like to ride +15-12 angles). All Mountain(no parks) where: north east(Upstate NY). It's my 3rd year(intermediate) Im trying to get the right snowboard for me: Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2X Snowboard 2025 161W(Waist width: 268) 165W(Waist width: 268) 163UW(Waist width: 280) I bought 161W(Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2X Snowboard 2025 I can still return and reorder), will it work for me? or I should get 165W or 163UW?
I’m 180lb, 5’11-6ft tall, 10.5 boot, I want to buy the ride shadowban do I get the 155w with 258 width or the 157 with 254 width? I want a longer board for charging but 254 width is barely cutting it with a 10.5 bolt size?
I am the same height, 195, 10.5 boot and I wish my 157w was 2-3cm longer so if I were you I’d look at 157-159w if they have it. I also would not want to be under 26.0 waist with a 10.5 boot if your carving is on the level of leaving pencil lines behind you. Just my opinion but hopefully it is helpful to you 👍🏼
Also just to clarify I don’t have the shadowban but my board is stiffer than that so I definitely think 157-159w is gonna be right for you if you want to charge with it.
@ it was between the 158 and 161 but they said to cut it down 3-5cm so went with the 158. Hope I didn’t screw myself there. Taking it out at the end of the month so we will see.
@secrit4859 i am, was 160 through high school. Been working out and eating a ton for over a decade. I definitely have a good bit of fat on my right now though, id probably be 190 lean. Grocery store brand cottage cheese is my god, 100grams protein per tub and super easy to eat
I'm only 5'3 and 120lb as a guy. I have no choice but to buy the smallest size on any board out there for men. Don't like women's board cuz their waist width is too narrow.
I just recently purchased a Mega Merc in a 157. 5'10", size 10 boot, current weight is 180 but I was 165 last season (gotta hit that cardio again!). I tried the 157 last season and loved it, but I can see how a 159 would have also been a good bet.
Why do you say don't use height then spend the video using height. Step 1 completely disregard using height as a measurement. Look at the weight range from the manufacturers. Get the size that puts you in the middle of the weight range. Don't buy a crap brand like golson and they generally have smart people designing these with weight range in mind. That's why they give a weight range not a height range I'm thr specs.
Im 6ft4, weight 95kg and have uk 9.5 boots. I ride a 161W DOA.
I started out riding a 158 rocker board and quickly realised i was really overpowering the flex, lifting the tips off the snow! As soon as i got larger board, in a flat profile, my riding improved alot!
why the hell your feet are so small man?

The Rossi Evader is flex 3 you could have snapped the board in half.

I'm 5'6" 210lb size 9.5 boots
155 Mtn Pig (2019-20)
157.5 Sims Bowlsquad (2022) and a 163W Chamonix Kraken (2020/21)
By far my most used is the 163W, surfing thru PNW powder and cruising on gnared out groomers.
I prob could have gone shorter on the Squad (flex of 2) and longer on The Pig.
I have 6 more older boarda in the upper 150s (156-159) and much prefer the 158s and 9s.
SSX3 moby was my to go to character hahah
Was never mine but he was always my one friend's haha
Also depends on a persons experience, over the years I’ve found that I like a little longer board. My personal Preference
Ssx 3 ❤
🤙
Im 192cm and 110kg and size47 eu boots i started on a 159 and struggled with heel and toe drag, now I have a 158w and it feels much better.
Yeah good call, 47 definitely needs a wide
Thanks. Imo height comes as a 3rd variable. A long person will easily transfer his weight over the nose and tail than a shorter person. I always go by foot size weight and height in that order of priority.
I just picked up the sport from my school club so this video helped
Awesome, that's a great way to get into snowboarding!
Im 6’8” 210lbs I ride a 162W with size 14US boots. Thinking of using my front door as my board this season just to up the size a bit 🚪
I just wanna ride like you
I'll show you a thing or two
write me a book
And I just wanna ride like the 10% of you both.
Just remember:
“You ride the board, the board does not ride you”
Sounds like you've got it dialed in
@ just trying to lend some advice to anyone with edge questions.. so they can still have fun on resort park rails.. and have the ability to stop on a dime if they need to pull that “E” break.
Good Looks- have a radical season, if u visit Utah, HMU
Help definitely needed, I'm 5' 9" weight is 130 with a 9.5 boot, is a jones 158W a good size for me? I can get up and down the mountain good but I often wonder if the board feels slightly heavy..any help is appreciated, thanks
sounds too big for me - think 153 - 155 ish if you're at least past the beginner stage (board model matters too..)
@TravisVarga Awesome. Thank you so much for the reply. I really appreciate that. I'm probably gonna go check out a 155 this week. Cheers
170lbs 10.5US 5'11" I got myself an arbor element camber 160MW. I think this is a perfect size. depends on the brand for others with my stats.
185 lbs. I rock a 153 Orca and 162w jones flagship. Size 11 boot.
im 6'1 230 size 13 boot currently ride a pulse 162w Im trying to decide between the ride Ride superpig 154 and 158 wanting something super nimble that can hold a carve hoping the stiffer board will help with the slight wait difference
I'm 6'1 tall and weigh 200 and my boot is 11.5 what would be the size of the board idea for me?
hey, I'm 1.78 cm and weigh 93 kilos. Do you think the lip tech skate banana 162W is the right choice?
Awesome video. I’m in between a 154 & 156 Lib-Tech banana. I’m 5’9 175lbs and sz 10 boot. First time buying a Lib coming from Burton. Any suggestions?
That's a soft board with the rocker so I would err towards a bigger size
Thank you
Great video thanks! Curious on your thoughts about mega merc vs Aeronaut. Don’t do much park riding and when I do it’s mainly only jumps.
Both are awesome rides, I personally like the Meaga Merc better and it's been one of my all time favorite snowboards
@ sick thanks, what about merc vs mega merc?
Im 6'3' i weigh about 260lbs and my boot size is 13 i got a 165W its my first board i did try to find one that was like a 166W but the biggest i could find was a 165W that was a board for beginners
what about sandwich bag size
Im 5’11 200 pounds and I’m split between the 157 and the 159 mercury, what would be your suggestion?
I’m 5’8” 190lbs. What size board do you think i should get. I’m completely new and have only gone once but i had a lot of fun. Mainly wanna just go down the hill and do some park.
154-158 , anywhere in there, I’m 5’9” 180lbs, and I ride a 156
So you are 6' at 145lbs, same weight as me at 5'6? That's insane!
Skinny son of a gun here
Just ordered the Capita Mercury 157 and have doubts.
@@The-Man-On-The-Mountainvery clear and helps a lot! Thanks bro!
You should always add extra 5kg to your weight for outerwear/boots/backpack/bindings etc.
I ride in the icy midwest. So i undersize a lil bit.
Smaller hills, smaller board
I’m 5’10 175-180 I’m think of going with 154-155…sounds about right? First board
Hello there lads. I am 6ft. 185 lb, us 9.5 boots and I bought Yes Standard 156. Its volume shifted twin. I wanted something as all mountain as it gets. Did I choose the right size if it only come up to my middle of my neck?
Yeah that's a good size for you with that volume shift
I just bought a jones MT 156w. My specs are 5’10 185lbs boot 11.5. Pairing with large union stratas. It was between the 156w and the 159w. The waist difference between these two boards is 0.2 cm. I chose the 156w for more maneuverability. Am I ok with the board I chose? Thank you.
Yeah that's a great choice for you and your size
i’m 6”4 weigh 165 size 13 men what size would you reccomend for the capita spring break resort twin for more freestyle park riding
Hé man! I am 179 cm tall and I am 73 kilo’s. I want to buy the jones mind expander twin but I don’t know the size. Should I go for the 154 or the 158? I am 17 Tho, so I think I Will be a little heavier in the future. I hope you can give me an advice.
My Forum Destroyer is a 154 that absolutely rips for me and my Rossignol Sashimi is a 160!
Nice quiver!
ima size 10, 5’9 and weigh 140 would a 151cm board be good or should i go for a longer board
Damn it dude. I just bought my self Yes Standard 156 2022. I am 6 feet as well and 184.5 lbs. Board sizing suggests that I am right in the middle if the weight range. But the board is only goes up to my Adams apple. I am scared thst i picked the wrong size. It is volume shifted though, so maybe i wanst wrong after all
Yo are those SSX tricky characters? I miss that game.
Hmm.. If Im 5ft7, 185 lbs what size of 2025 proto ultra should I get? 157 or 160? I think that people wit similar weight ride shorter one but I fit right in the middle of 160 specification...
Also this channel is very underrated! I watched like half of your videos in past few days :)
Id ride the smaller board easier in the trees and such
I’m 6’1, 78kg (170lbs), and looking to get my first board. Will 158 be big enough or should I be looking for around 160, thanks.
155-158 🙏🏼 , I have the same build as you and have a 158 board, and it feels slightly too long, maybe a 156
im 5'8, i ride a 154 typically. I weigh 132 lbs and im thinking of switching to either a 150 or 156 what should i look forward to ?
Depends if u want to ride freestyle/park or freeride/all-mountain/backcountry
I'm 5'7 140.. I got a 152cm.. I'll be okay?
you know a man knows his snowboarding when he looks like Eddie from ssx tricky. and uses characters from ssx 3
Hahah right on 🤙
I went to an indoor snow mountain.
55w, 58w, 62 may work for you, flex 5+, if flex 4 go big
im 5'5 and 133lbs. what size you would suggest for me?
My dudes Viggo and Moby….. I see you. 🫵
You know what's up!
I went this 165W in the Mega death 2025.
Hell yeah!
I am 5'7" and 175lbs and size 8 would would you recommend? I bought a soloman craft 2025 board at 158cm would that work for me?
Sounds perfect
You could probably get away with a 156cm but 158 sounds about right.
What board size should I get if i wear a size 11-11.5 and I weigh 180
And width^
Hi! something off topic, but maybe you can help me..
I'd suggest the 10, you should feel the end of the boot for sure
Try a different shop.
If you get your boots wrong, bindings and board won't matter. You will 100% guaranteed eirher stunt your progression, or have a 💩 time.
Don't compromise with thicker socks, or anything like that either.
If you're in the UK, go to TSA Tamworth. 👍
I'm 5'6 and 220lbs and size 10us boot size. Should I be looking at a wide board for more surface area because I'm heavy for my height?
I’m 5’10 and 180lbs and I have a lib tech or a size 147
Is this a right size for me or too small? I’ve tried the 150 but it felt too wide and slow for me
The two biggest tourist myths that won't die:
-"This is my height, I need this size"
-"Better learn skiing before snowboarding"
And we're just here to help wash those away
I'm only 5'2 158cm...I weigh 80 kg and I ride a154 155 and 156
I'm 5'3 160cm.. 85kg Weight and I rode 149 and now 154.. but I guess the perfect is 152 but my Burton Custom Camber has only 150 or 154 😢
I’m 6,1 and 170 and got a 155 is that too small
I’m 5’11 6’0 190 lbs I want to get a 158 cause that’s what I used to ride when I was younger but I think I should get a 160 or even 161w because I go up and down between 185-220lbs a lot from lifting, but I see people 6’5 210 riding a 158 would I be fine or should I go up?
Getting above 200lbs you should be checking out a 160 or 161W
Hi. I'm trying to choose snowboard for boots size 14 us
Im 6.1, 164lb, Snowboard boots size 14 (K2 Maysis) and Union Force XL - bindings (I like to ride +15-12 angles). All Mountain(no parks)
where: north east(Upstate NY). It's my 3rd year(intermediate)
Im trying to get the right snowboard for me:
Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2X Snowboard 2025
161W(Waist width: 268)
165W(Waist width: 268)
163UW(Waist width: 280)
I bought 161W(Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2X Snowboard 2025
I can still return and reorder), will it work for me?
or I should get 165W or 163UW?
6', 205lbs here, size 13 boot. I have a 165w 2024 ape and it rips. No toe drag
I can’t decide wether to get a DOA, Superdoa or Aeronaut. Can someone pls tell me the main differences/ advantages?
Zebulon would like a word.
having a size 11 boot would I be able to get the Capita Aeronaut 159 without experiencing any drag, or should I get the 158w
You'd be better off with the 158W
would I be fine with the 159 tho, idk what it is I just don’t wanna wide board
Hi I am 185 cm and weigt 102 kg which board suits me the most ? I tried already last year 158 and 162 should I go with 165 w ?
Thanks
Yeah maybe somewhere between a 162W and 165W
Hey guys, im 5’9” 173 lbs, looking at either a 153 or 155 ultrafear for the park, any ideas which i should go with?
155 at that weight imo
I’m 180lb, 5’11-6ft tall, 10.5 boot, I want to buy the ride shadowban do I get the 155w with 258 width or the 157 with 254 width? I want a longer board for charging but 254 width is barely cutting it with a 10.5 bolt size?
I am the same height, 195, 10.5 boot and I wish my 157w was 2-3cm longer so if I were you I’d look at 157-159w if they have it. I also would not want to be under 26.0 waist with a 10.5 boot if your carving is on the level of leaving pencil lines behind you. Just my opinion but hopefully it is helpful to you 👍🏼
Also just to clarify I don’t have the shadowban but my board is stiffer than that so I definitely think 157-159w is gonna be right for you if you want to charge with it.
any recommendation for me that 188cm and 81kg us size 12 boot?
I’m 5’8 195lb and I ride 154w
Can you guys help me, im 180cm 70-80kilos and Eu42-43 shoes, wich board i should get?
1:00 wheres that footage from?
That's all our shredding footage. That clip specifically is on Aspen Mtn
191 cm tall 90kg mu shoe size is 46 eu ! someone help im new to this...
I feel like 6 foot 220lb bodybuilder is gonna make for some really screwy numbers in my case.
Dude, I’m with you at 6’ 230 lol. Just bought the arbor Carter camber in 158
@JakeHolder nice dude! I got to take my 61 out the other day. I'm excited to see how it feels going forward.
@ it was between the 158 and 161 but they said to cut it down 3-5cm so went with the 158. Hope I didn’t screw myself there. Taking it out at the end of the month so we will see.
Are you natural? Im 150 up like 25lb hoping I can get to 200, yes I was skinny asf
@secrit4859 i am, was 160 through high school. Been working out and eating a ton for over a decade. I definitely have a good bit of fat on my right now though, id probably be 190 lean. Grocery store brand cottage cheese is my god, 100grams protein per tub and super easy to eat
I'm 5'8 an ride a 157 I'm 170 lbs
I’m 5’4 and weigh about 110.. While my boards is about 159cm
That’s interesting to say the least
6'4 110 kgs. 154w... Ripping the mountain 😂
boots
I'm only 5'3 and 120lb as a guy. I have no choice but to buy the smallest size on any board out there for men. Don't like women's board cuz their waist width is too narrow.
160 lbs just bought a 156 😁
What'd ya get?
I just recently purchased a Mega Merc in a 157. 5'10", size 10
boot, current weight is 180 but I was 165 last season (gotta hit that cardio again!). I tried the 157 last season and loved it, but I can see how a 159 would have also been a good bet.
159cm, everyone would like to have two centimeters more xD
Im 180 cm and 90kg, i use size 44 eu, and i just bought a new board that is 154, did i fuck up?😂
Its a 4/10 all terrain board
It could be a little too small
@@SearchofSnowboarding yes i changed the size to 158 so its all good :)
6 ft, 250lbs boot sz 11-12? help lol
Maybe check out a 159 or 162 Lib Tech Orca
Why do you say don't use height then spend the video using height. Step 1 completely disregard using height as a measurement. Look at the weight range from the manufacturers. Get the size that puts you in the middle of the weight range. Don't buy a crap brand like golson and they generally have smart people designing these with weight range in mind. That's why they give a weight range not a height range I'm thr specs.
I said, weight should be considered more, never said don't use height
Height is still a factor due to leverage.
