Hi Justin. Dave from you know where. And I'm also in a Five O'Clock World here in London; well, five-thirty, more like. Thanks so much for playing this. It's a favourite from the many great US vocal groups of the 60s. Another is You Belong To Me by The Duprees.
I was little when this came out, but even then I could tell that this had a unique sound and feeling. Decades later this song still has an incredible feeling and mood that is hard to describe. Thanks very much.
I forgot how great that is! What a swinging track. And that definitely IS a yodle - and what a lovely understated yodle! (May not be Thijs Van Leer, but hey...) And the dated scene and outfits - what a hoot! I really enjoyed that.
Thanks, JP! I feel so SPECIAL!! 🥹😊 Hope can figure out how to get you to do a few more reactions to some 60s music! Thanks for remembering us old Hippies!😘✌
SAME for me, even though I knew this song in 1965 long before Drew Carey came on the air, but it STILL makes me see that opening segment of Drew Carey's show with "5 O'CLOCK WORLD" being played during it.
According to wikipedia, the song was released in 1965.Their hair and suits looks earlier. Their sound is very early to barely sixties to me. Not a bad song for the era.
There is no primary code, for aging and growing old. Work all day,for some pay, gotta fit into the fold. The day is done, it's time for some fun. And someone loving and warm to hold. Start each day, as a child in play. For the positivity of youth, never goes out of Vogue! Peace & Love.
Yea I know this song from Drew Carey Show. Nice catchy tune. You should check out The Association and their song "Then Along Comes Mary". They've got some sweet harmonies as well.
This looks like it might have been from a show like Where The Action Is., a daytime summer show hosted by Dick Clark. The acts just lipsynched their songs outdoors.
Check out: Special Angel Turn Around Look at Me Earth Angel and their entire music book. Most outstanding quartet when I was in High School late 60's to June 1970 when I graduated. Their music is timeless
They sing to track then sing live music the did the drew Carey show for along time and there touring today if want to see you will like cowsells to live on tour and live concert almost 60 years ago
Yes, it's a feelgood song, but sometimes I think the real feelgood music comes from the real oldies. For instance, in 1929, *James Melton* sang *Sleepy Valley* . ruclips.net/video/lz-S8im6tHc/видео.html (A friend of mine's mother still had her granny's phonograph record player, and we were allowed to occasionally crank it up, and play the song. It was sped up - to be a livelier dance tune, I think.)
HEY JP, Loved this song since 1965. BUT NOW, when I HEAR it, I always think of the opening for "THE DREW CAREY SHOW" (which takes place in Cleveland, as Drew is a native Clevelander, and I am too), until a few seasons later they used "CLEVELAND ROCKS" as their opening song, Here is their original opening with "5 O'clock World" ruclips.net/video/tse9zJKcBBs/видео.html
This has been a favorite of mine since it came out when I was in high school. It reflects personal experience in my working life.
This is nuthin' but a feel good song!!!! Always smile when I hear it.

Superb song. The Vogues had about 3 masterpieces, and this is one of them.
It’s ironic that I just watched the clip from the Drew Carey Show that used this song.
THANKS for doing some music from my era! LOVE IT!!
My pleasure :)
same! I remember listening to it on a transistor radio....:-)
My favorite by them is "You're the One"
Another good song. Petula Clark had a hit with it in the UK.
The Vogues are from Turtle Creek, PA. I love only a short car ride from there, outside Pittsburgh.

Definitely gives off a wonderful mood :D Ty Brad

This one definitely takes me back to the days of listening to the oldies station back in the 80's. Great song and great memories.

Love this song! Such a well structured song too. ❤️
Yes, love the Piano notes. 😊
I can't listen to this without thinking of The Drew Carey Show. Great song.

I did mention the Vogues in a comment about pop music. I figured your excellent patrons would steer you to a good tune. The Vogues had several hits.

Julian Cope did a cover of this tune on his 4th solo album "My Nation Underground" released in 1988, great version!

One of your best, JPP. Love it.

You always come through! Love ya!

I think the performance was from the Dick Clark show, WHERE THE ACTION IS.
I've always love this and still listen to it!
My favorite song when it came out.
Singin’ at the mall…
I love the song. ✌️

As others have said Julian Cope of The Teardrop Explodes does an excellent cover. The Proclaimers cover it as well.

Also 'Let's Be Natural'.
@@frugalseverin2282 also "CHEESE AND ONIONS"
Great tune, love it. Prefer their previous release "You're The One" , from a personal reason.
Their other two big hits are "Special Angel" and "You're the One". Check them out and enjoy!!
Also "Turn Around, Look At Me"
Always thought that song were The Dave Clarke Five.
They sing to track then sing live music the did the drew Carey show for along time and there touring today if want to see you will like cowsells to live on tour and live concert almost 60 years ago
Check out Julian Cope's cover of this, released as a single and on his album 'My Nation Underground'.
Since you are going way back to the mid-sixties you should definitely consider reviewing Walk Away Renee and Pretty Ballerina by The Left Banke.

Never heard of them. And based on this, unlikely i'll ever listen to them again. So, so far from my cup of tea, terribly dated.
How is ANY music "dated"? Heaven help that you should listen to any music before 2023! 😳
