Hey, adding RAM does increase temperature slightly as it boost performance, but it should be almost imperceptibly. You might wanna monitor it a few more days, to see what's the temp it's running and whether it's thermal throttling. Worse case scenario have to report to HP to claim warranty, probably they will do a thermal repaste and maybe replace your heatsink
hello sir by upgrading it will it not void the warranty, as the store I bought it from they said that once I upgraded it by myself the 2 years warranty will be voided

I had the same trouble with a desk top. On looking again , I didn't install one of them properly. It was too loose. Also I swapped sides because for some reason it was a better fit.
This shouldn't be related to you inserting the RAM, probably you need to update the firmware of your laptop, just proceed to update and it should be fine

I'm debating on upgrading my DDR5 16gb Victus to 32gb. I'm wondering, is it really worth the need and cost ???
It does have 512 gb but that I will upgrade to 2 TB 980 pro. Your opinion on the RAM - is it that necessary to push to 32gb ? Because I know it'll eat the battery up FAST.
From what I know 16gb is already enough. Even for playing games, using ps, or 3d modelling. Is there a reason why you wanna upgrade to 32gb?
@@beomsungg - I want NO hiccups. I understand in my BIG RIGS - they always have 32gb min up to 64gb.
Like 1 of my rings is 13700k 64gb 6000 with 30 cass. Now with my laptops, I don't mind more kick. I may just do this - take out 1 stick of ram and go from 16gb total to 24gb (by adding a 16gb piece) = I did already put in the 980 2tb pro. I do at times do video conversion and sometimes wanna play some games ?
hello..:i hafe a question…does need to disconnet battery when upgrade ram?? thank you
Just make sure you power off it will do. For me I did not remove the battery, you could remove it just to be sure 😄
Bro is all hp victus model ram upgradable 🤔
It depends usually gaming laptop yes
@@BF_official_my tqs 😇
I was afraid of breaking the plastix while trying to open it, but after you said 'stat from the middle', i was like: ahaa, that makes sense, thanks for the video
That's right! Start from the middle 😁
Should i disconnect the battery before messing with the RAM?
Recomended to do so, but i did it without removing the battery as I forgot to, and it still works fine
would I be able to replace the pre-existing single 8gb RAM with a single 32gb RAM?
Yess, but then it won't run dual channel. So if you could do 16GB *2 will be better
Do you need to remove the battery before putting the ram?
It's advisable but not necessarily. Have to make sure everything power off .
i put in a 16gb ram in my 8gb ram laptop best decision and i got the 3050 with the new 6gb vram thinking it was a 4gb
Glad to hear that! And yes the new 3050 has 6GB ram
Can we add another ssd? If yes is it a m.2?
Yess m.2 it is
I only have 8G 3200Mhz RAM. And I add 8G ddr4 2666Mhz Kingston RAM. after install I open my conputer it only have 8G and the RAM speed go to 2666Mhz......
Yes that is correct. The computer will only be able to cap at the lower speed, that's why I suggest to try to get and match the speed of your stock ram
does opening the back cover void warranty?
Nope
Is there a link of the ram u bought?

Will crucial ram work with hp victus fb0002na, it's a gaming laptop. So I'm just wondering if crucial is good or there's a specific brand for gaming ram for laptop
hey any brand should work, just make sure you match the speed of your stock RAM, in my case it is 3200mhz to ensure it runs on dual channel ;)
Is it possible that you can upgrade the gpu in the hp victus? I’m wondering because I’m looking to upgrade my gpu and ram
GPU it is not able to ... RAM yes
At bf+ what's best brand ram and ssd for this laptop? I have same model and would like to upgrade
Any reputable brand with warranty will do! make sure to get the 3200mhz(same speed) and same size RAM
is there any color scratch on the back of the case because u open it using card it might leave some sign of tear.... i did the same and i can see there are many color discoloration on the back of the case and im regretting to open it using card...
Oh my sorry to hear that, but there is none on mine.
Nice vid, bro. ¿do u know if i can put the ram 3200mhz 8GB Xpg Hunter?
3200mhz DDR4 ram should be able to
hello… can i just change the stock 8gb ram to 16gb ram without doing anything like install the software
Yes you may, upgrading/ changing RAM doesn't need any software installation
Does any ram stick work in this laptop how do I know which ram cards to get? I know I want 32Gs but what brand is there a specific kind of ram needed ?
No specific ram brand, just make sure to use DDR4 and try to get 3200mhz speed to match with your other Ram stick
@@BF_official_my awesome thanks ! I was going to get these ones - Corsair Vengeance SODIMM 32GB (1x32GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 Memory for Laptop/Notebooks (Intel 11th Generation Core Processors Support) Black
I have the hp Victus 16.1
@@anonymousbritishcolumbia great make sure you run the CMD prompt in the description to check how much RAM capacity your device can handle
Mine says 2 out of 2 ram. So 2 are being used. Does that mean I can't do it or I can replace both of those with 16GB ram each?
you can easily swap out your ram, just don't go over your limit
Im planning to add a 16gb ram stick but im afraid to open up my laptop because i might break something
Good luck! Gently and confidence, you will get there!
I have a question , instead of 8 gb, can it be a 16 one ?
Yes but if you put one 16GB+8GB then it won't run dual channel.
You will have to match both same in order to run dual channel, to get better performance
A small question: will hp still accept warranty if we change the hardware ourselves?
For RAM and SSD... yes HP Still accepts warranty based on my experiences.
As both of this is upgradable. For the rest of the hardware, I could not advise on that.
But if you need a thermal repaste just contact HP as well
You're the best thank you!
Thank you! You too!
Good video planning on putting 2 8 gig rams in my new laptop. It currently has 2 4 gig rams. Also took you like 5 mins to open the back. Should've just edited it out or speed it up a bit that was annoying watching u struggle to get the back off for so long
Thank you for your feedbacks!🙏
What is the size of screws?
@@alejandrofernandez7763 tiny lol
i would like to get 2 16 gb ram but I'm not sure witch ones work for this laptop
Yes it works, just find DDR4 , 3200mhz
I purchased two 16 GB Vengeance DDR4 3200 MHZ sticks for my Victus. The laptop will turn on but the screen is blank and doesn’t boot. I tried just one stick and still didn’t work. I then put back the original stick and it booted. Any idea why it wouldn’t work?
These are made by Corsair off of Amazon
I bought hp victus 20 days ago should i buy 2 year extended warranty. Price of warranty is approx same as two 8gb ram in my country. What should I do
how long is your original warranty? If your budget allows, I would suggest to get at least total 2 years warranty
@@BF_official_my warranty is till next year 23 September 2023
@@samaio9920 then I suggest to extend if your budget allows
What is the type of screws
is it Philips ?
Hey man, i also bought the same laptop and upgraded the ram. But during gaming, the laptop is hotter 5-7degree compare to before upgrading the ram. So is this normal? Or the ram i bought is faulty?
Hey, adding RAM does increase temperature slightly as it boost performance, but it should be almost imperceptibly.
You might wanna monitor it a few more days, to see what's the temp it's running and whether it's thermal throttling. Worse case scenario have to report to HP to claim warranty, probably they will do a thermal repaste and maybe replace your heatsink
@@BF_official_my how do i know if my laptop is thermal throttling?
You can download hwinfo app, it monitors lots of other things and thermals as well
@@BF_official_my okay, thanks alot💯💯
@@seemanle3968 dude, did you take the laptop under warranty?
hello sir by upgrading it will it not void the warranty, as the store I bought it from they said that once I upgraded it by myself the 2 years warranty will be voided
Hi, speaking from experience I've upgraded it myself as per video and even called HP for touchpad issue warranty service no issue here. Just do not tear out any warranty sticker on the stock ram etc.
Anyone did this with Crucial 32GB DDR5 kit? Thinking of installing it on the Victus
Do i need to unplug battery connection first?
You may, but I didn't and it works fine
How do i replace the thermal paste?
could there be a reason why it won’t come on after the installation? the caps lock light just blinks repeatedly
Better check with the warranty team
I had the same trouble with a desk top. On looking again , I didn't install one of them properly. It was too loose. Also I swapped sides because for some reason it was a better fit.
once i put in the ram in is it normal for the laptop to say things like "writing new bios image" or "firmware update" when i turn it on
This shouldn't be related to you inserting the RAM, probably you need to update the firmware of your laptop, just proceed to update and it should be fine
Will this void the warranty?
Nope. I've done it and claimed warranty before
@@BF_official_my okay thanks
is crucial ddr4 16gb ram compatible with victus?
Yes, should not be a problem
What ram stick are you using
8GB RAM stock DDR4 3200. ADATA
My laptop comes with sk hynix brand ddr4 ram. Can i use other brand to make it dual channel?
Sure, just make the speed same
If i use a ram with different mhz for example the sodimm 2400 mhz would it still work, or it will have problems with the computer?
The sodimm 2400 mhz uses ddr4 just in case
And if i use a higher rate of mhz what would happen?
I will get you my victus version later
It will work but it will cap at 2400mhz and will not run at dual channel. I would suggest to get both same speed RAM
There is extra SSD slot???
Yes there is
What specific model laptop do you have
You may view the model from the other video on my channel! ;)
heyy i too have the exact latop and configurations , how to upgrade to max then ? (upto 32 gb is that possible ?)
Yes just buy 2* 16GB RAM sticks
@@BF_official_my hey can i buy only one 16gb stick and join it with current 8gb ? will that work , thanks for reply
@greyhar430 yes you may but it wont run in dual channel. Preferably try to get the same memory with same speed so that it runs in dual channel (better performance)
could you tell me the name of this specific laptop? i’m looking to buy it 🙏
@@untypixel it's the HP Victus!
would i be able to put a 16gb ram instead of a 8 ?
Yes!
it doesnt matter if you dont disconect the battery first?
I would say best practice is to remove the battery and discharge yourself.
But yeah I didn't remove the battery in this vid and the ram still works fine.
Does this laptop support DDR5?
The model I got doesn't. I know the victus have newer models that support it
Thank you
hello my pc has only two slots with both 4 gb, can i change both of them and replace it with 8gb so i can have 2x8 gb instead of 2x4
Yes u should!
