I agree except for one thing: Cade Skywalker never wanted to be a hero at all. He certainly wasn’t the hero the galaxy wanted. But he was the hero they needed. He met the challenge with all of the power , honor, and grace of a Skywalker.

She's a wannabe Skywalker. Also, the whole plot of the sequel trilogy makes no sense since Disney contradicts themselves in the Ahsoka series which heavily implied that Anakin is this deity-like entity who has full control over his light and dark side. So, why did Anakin not interfere at any point in the Sequel Trilogy, especially with his grandson, Kylo? Why did only Luke and Yoda appear as a Force Ghost and not Anakin? Did the the whole Sequel Trilogy hing on Anakin not interfering in any way?
@@The-Mstr-Pook Nah giving her the name Palpatine is an absolute insult to the emperor himself (the original not the Disney incarnation) She’s just a Sith through and through, stealing Anakin and Luke’s legacy.
Theory, thank you for this video. As a huge fan of Legends, I can say that most fans today are not aware of the history. I have read at least 50 novels, including the essential chronological timeline of Star Wars which I recommend to everyone who wants the history. I agree that they had the blueprint for the sequels in the Legacy of the Force books. We need more videos and information like this. Keep up the good work bro!
There was also Jacen’s daughter Allana, who’s future was safety was presumably part of the reason why did some of things that he did as Darth Caedus. As well as Ania Solo, a non-Force sensitive descendent of Han and Leia and a distant cousin of Cade Skywalker, together, they helped destroy the presumably the last Sith Empire. Thereby, finalizing the legacy of Anakin Skywalker by destroying the Sith for good as the Jedi of the prequels believed the Chosen One prophecy to be about.
Shmi was mentioned! I don't agree that this video should be covering the others though. When people refer to the Skywalkers, it is the blood that matters. That hereditary connection to the force that comes from being a descendant of one born of the force. Marrying into the family is all well and good, but you do not inherit those genes that are the part worth tracking.
Cade Skywalker's dad was Kol Skywalker who had an older brother named Nat, both of whom were Jedi Masters. Kol and Nat were either Ben Skywalker's grandsons or great-grandsons.
Now this is a story I would've paid to watch. The Expanded Universe has a wealth of interesting, cool characters, and the Skywalker-Solo family are among the best. To answer 1:06: allegedly, one of the reasons Disney-Lucasfilm didn't choose to adapt the EU is because they didn't want to pay the EU writers royalties. I recall an incident a couple years ago where several EU authors joined together to petition Disney for payments they were due and never received. To this day, I don't know if they were ever paid. I think this may have happened sometime during/after the Lucasfilm buyout, but I can't say for sure. Add it onto the ever-growing pile of insults on Disney's part.
I always loved Ben going from being weaker than a Youngling to a top tier Jedi Knight in a year (the benefits of being the child of two powerful Jedi). I wish we could have seen his story continue into him becoming so powerful that maybe he was the reason Darth Krayt waited so long to strike (I always thought he waited until Ben died to attack so he wouldn’t get annihilated).
My first Star Wars books were the “Young Jedi Knights” series. Making Jacen and Jaina very important characters to me. I was actually relieved they weren’t in the Disney films
Great video SWT, but there is one little mistake. Jaina is older than Jacen by 5 minutes, its in the Last Command book. The Skywalker family tree starts from before 32 BBY and goes into 137 ABY. Spanning many great adventures, terrible consequences, and heavy lost. The dual with Jaina and Jacen was brutal, brother and sister fighting for the future of the galaxy and it ended with Jacen dead. Anakin Solo was a sad story too. But just think one thing we still didn't know how Luke died in the Expanded Universe, cause we know he went into exile after being told to step down from Grand Master of the New Jedi Order, and then Cade sees Luke Force ghost, while high or not on deathsticks.
I think it’s so poetic how the skywalker lineage always deals with the light and dark aspects of their lives. Because the force is light and dark it’s cool that it symbolises anakins life and how he too had both. My theory is that at some point in the Star Wars universe timeline (anakins birth), over thousands of years past the old republic and beyond, the force itself felt out of balance whether too far to the light (arguing for the Jedi orders dogmatism and stagnation in studying the force), or to the dark (arguing that the force felt that plagueis and palpatines rule over the galaxy would’ve been too overwhelming and evil, hence creating an answer in anakin), and needed to create a physical manifestation of its cosmic self to control its notion of balance for every generation. Creating the skywalkers as a way to control balance through the generations.
Ben Skywalker's journey really made him a favorite for me over time, because writers took the time to really flesh him out as an individual slowly, reasonably, and it worked. They created a smart, cynical, shocking talented person who often felt like the most realistic character in the entire family tree. That's what good writing gets you.
A cool idea i think would be to read the legends books and then make videos giving a summary of them with your cool art style and maybe some animation.
Thanks so much for this I wish Cade got some love for his story because kkruck a Jedi in same era s Anakin Skywalker ended up becoming one of cades masters and I think thats cool seeing how Kkruck has that connection between old Jedi order and new Jedi order

I can't wait to get further into the EU once I've saved up enough money (and time) to delve into it all. First read a couple of (I think?) Boba Fett or Jango Fett EU books way back in middle school in the mid-2000s and have been hooked ever since, watching video after video of EU Star Wars-related content from awesome creators like you, Lore Master, Stupendous and more!
We have seen how the Skywalker story goes forward, but we haven't seen where it began. Shmi obviously had to have had parents who were named Skywalker, presumably carrying her father's last name. Why was Shmi chosen to be the carrier of "The Chosen One"? Does thr Skywalker name itself have a long lineage and history with the force? Would be interesting to see it explored further, maybe as a series or comic book,
I still wonder if some author is gonna come up with a waaaay earlier ancestor from the part of the galaxy where the Chiss come from. It was already written for you Disney!
What the hell…we’re getting lore content from Theory again like the good old days? Seems like your new friendship with Stupendous is doing good for us all.
Theory: *spends plenty of time explaining the complexities of the Solo children and and those that came before them* Also Theory with Ben and Cade Skywalker: *you get 1 minute each*
Glad to see you doing more videos like this. I think Disney really broke a lot of fans. Glad to see everyone slowly getting back into the groove of things. Current Star Wars may not be great. But that isn’t stopping me from rewatching Clone Wars. PS. Corkey is totally Obi-Wan’s kid right? 😅
Yeah. Some of them are abridged(meaning portions of the story are cut for time) and others are unabridged. All modern audiobooks from 2000s onward have music and sound effects.
Please use more scenes from The Clone Wars whenever you're referencing Anakin. I think a lot of diehard TCW fans, like myself, would appreciate that. Plus, Matt's Anakin is just as valid and relevant, I'd say! :)
There are other skywalkers in legends also. Nat skywalker and Kol skywalker. Kol skywalker is cades father. Nat skywalker is cades uncle and Kols brother.
Man just seeing the art covers of these books be reminiscent of the OT and Prequels has me feeling a bit emotional lol. An absolute shame they had all the groundwork laid out for them and decided to scrap it in favor of a trilogy with no plan

Could have still included an old Luke, Leia and Han whilst giving us a much better story where the main hero is still a female jedi and the twist this time is that it's her brother that's the villain rather than the hero's father.
It was already written for you Disney!
I stand by my opinion that Cade Skywalker and his story would make a fantastic TV show or set of movies
What the hell…we’re getting lore content from Theory again like the good old days? Seems like your new friendship with Stupendous is doing good for us all.
Great vid, is so much tells in these stories to make great movie but no Disney have to mess thing up
Keep up the lore videos theory. You need to do more on legacy 😃
Wish they went with this
Theory: *spends plenty of time explaining the complexities of the Solo children and and those that came before them*
Also Theory with Ben and Cade Skywalker: *you get 1 minute each*
Thank you for covering real Star Wars canon @StarWarsTheory 👍🏻
You have a great Luke voice
The legends is basically decades of movies and TV-shows. Unreal how Disney could just throw it all away.
Been awhile since I've heard your Qui-Gon :)
Ty toos
Glad to see you doing more videos like this. I think Disney really broke a lot of fans. Glad to see everyone slowly getting back into the groove of things. Current Star Wars may not be great. But that isn’t stopping me from rewatching Clone Wars.
PS. Corkey is totally Obi-Wan’s kid right? 😅
I didn't know much about the legends stories. They sound awesome. Are there audio books for these?
Still upsetting that none of these legends stories made it to the big screen like they deserved
I love that there is no mention of Kylo or Rey. Illegitimate.
Love that you didn't include Kylo or Rey! xD
There are other skywalkers in legends also.
Nat skywalker and Kol skywalker.
Kol skywalker is cades father.
Nat skywalker is cades uncle and Kols brother.
Did the Skywalker family story end because they stopped writing stories of them or because the last members never had kids to carry on the name??
Because Expanded Universe ended after Disney acquired Star Wars.
Who knew that a slave boy on a backwater planet could grow to inspire generations of the most powerful beings of the galaxy.
Cade the pirate jedi.
Man just seeing the art covers of these books be reminiscent of the OT and Prequels has me feeling a bit emotional lol. An absolute shame they had all the groundwork laid out for them and decided to scrap it in favor of a trilogy with no plan
Love how you just cut out Disney
Legends is the real canon.
sequels are fanfic crap by disney
I read the entire Star Wars Legacy Run (still own all the graphic novels) loved Cade Skywalker and his crew in the series. Darth Krayt was a fun villian for him to go up against. I loved his ship "The Mynock" as well.
"Legacy of the force" would have been (is) my sequel trilogy. A Dark Lady of the Sith is much more appealing than a resurrected emperor.
can you do a what if based on the two Skywalker lines princess, Luke and all of their children....I feel a trilogy that encapsulates them and like you said the tug of war between light and dark would be a perfect coup de grace for the Skywalker story.
So I think I heard some lore about Vader dropping some planets, what's a few million or so, I'd love to catch that. It might just be on me.
Thanks for the vid, theory
