Best instructor tbh. There are multiple ways to learn. This fosters an environment where you actually want to, you feel safe and able to make mistakes, and know that he’s got you covered.
I did but I specifically asked for them. I knew that once passed I'd be doing a lot of motorway driving after dark, so thought it would be good to include it in my lessons. Glad I did. :)
@@Little_Sidhe you just learn where the gear stick is. Which corresponds to a gear. So if the gear is pointing towards the front left of the car it's in 1st, bottom left is second, if it is pointing straight towards the front it's in 3rd, 4th would be towards the bottom of the car, and 5th would be right front. Reverse is different in different cars but you will probably get used to where that is too. Another way to know what gear you are in is the speed of the car 0-10 mph is 1st gear, 10-15 is 2nd gear, 15-25 is 3rd gear 25-35 is 4th gear and 35+ would be 5th. So for example, if you were going 20 mph you would probably be in 3rd gear. Some more modern cars display the gear you are in on the dashboard. I hope this helps!
@@picklestheswift Eh those speeds and gears are wrong. It's 0-10mph for 1st, 11-20mph is 2nd, 21-30mph is 3rd, 31-40mph is 4th, 41+ is 5th. You're not going to progress very quickly with your gear changes lol

It's been changed for a while. I'm learning just now but the nearest motorway is a while away, I probably won't practice on them. We have duel carriageways that are 70, so it's kinda the same (i hope lol).

Yeah that should've been sorted out in an empty lot before even going on residential roads.
I’ve never been on a motorway or a dual carriageway but I would really love to, I’m
just waiting to hear back from a driving instructor.
No but honestly its best to watch a family member to see how they deal with awareness on the motorway first or if not get lesson's on it

It should be mandatory to learn in a automatic before you upgrade to distractions like the gear box. Putting peoples lives in danger for no reason!
People have been taking lessons in manuals since forever and even before automatics were a thing
In the UK we have learnt in manuals first, no research says it is safer to learn in a automatic before being allowed to learn in a manual.
