My ReMarkable2 stopped working because the button was stuck - they replaced it for free with a refurbished one that lasted 6 months now the refurbished one is stuck on Sleeping- they want me to now pay for a refurbished product and send this one in. I will not be buying another ReMarkable2.

This is with every tech if you send it right back to the brand/maker. If you buy from a BestBuy, Wal-Mart or some other store and you return the product within the time of buying it for a brand new one, that's cause stores can bite the bullet on slightly coast differences, unlike getting one from the brand store itself.

For example, with Kindle products, if I recall correctly, you're stuck with Amazon's ecosystem. Hence this is not a good summary to be used as a buying guide at all ~ and that means my time was not well-spent.

Do not trust such reviews because they only play with the device quickly and superficially to attract visitors, and do not test it professionally.
The biggest drawback of the Boox device is that it is not possible to type correctly. To say it simply, what you type is different from what is displayed on the screen!
I know, it's a very, very simple and general function that's been since the 1980s on PCs and Nokia phones, but it doesn't work properly on this modern device!
So before buying, you need to know that it is not possible to type any text in books, notes, office files etc. Only a series of weird characters are typed.
For more than a year, dozens of emails and messages have been exchanged between me and the support team, but this simple problem has not been fixed.

Those Eink as note takers are all laggy . All boox all Remarkable all and all are only one single thing - Laggy in hand write , pixilated , Low resolution ..
For handwriting IPad is king . And in IPad using Noteshelf 3 is the way to go . And in Noteshelf 3 the way to go is using the fountain pen ( it is more of a regular pen albeit the name fountain ) and under fountain pen you want sensitivity OFF ( but ON is also good) and 0.5 or 0.6 or 0.7 or 0.8 thickness options.
That is the best way to go for writing and I have tried them all - E ink and IPad. E ink is too laggy and pixilated for hand writing.
For tipping also IPad is exactly like typing on a computer using even the same office bundles .
Using Bluetooth pen is much more responsive quick the using any non Bluetooth pen . Bluetooth is a must for the pen not to be laggy .
Ipad uses Apple Pencil which is a Bluetooth pencil .
Also in Apple Pencil you can use the same tip for 10 years . With E ink the nib is becoming mushroom like and needed to be replaced every 2 weeks or so , even 1 week , and the writing experience which is not the best from the start has a ad decline slop as the nib gets worn so quickly . Also those E ink nibs needing fairly quick exchange is a huge cons.
IPad screen and ease and fluid work and color accuracy are vastly superior to any E ink.
iPad is the only way to go from any aspect.
