  • This 1977 Suzuki promotional film, titled " Motocross Winning Tips, Tricks and Techniques ", was sent to the Suzuki motorcycle dealerships to be used as an in house commercial. The film highlights technical aspects of motocross riding.
This film had physical damage at the beginning along with sunlight damage to the entire film causing fade and constant color shifting. The restoration process took 3 passes with Neat Video for dirt plus grain removal along with 6 processes with DaVinci Resolve to perform the color restoration sectioning the film at every major color shift to stabilize the picture as best as possible.
If you look up a different film I posted, titled "1974 Chevy Selling Monte Carlo ", you can see a rare glimpse of the film cartridge viewer that was used at the dealerships where the customers and personnel were to view these films. This system was made by Technicolor.
This film came from my personal collection. This film was not downloaded from any website and is not reused content. This restoration is my work. The restoration process started with removing the super8 film from the Technicolor Cartridge. After removal the film was cleaned, repaired, and spooled onto a standard film reel. Next the scanning to digital process was performed on the Lasergraphics Scanstation motion picture film scanner in 2k resolution. The image restoration was a combination of 3 programs, upscaling the image to 4k with Topaz AI, then processing in Neat Video and Davinci Resolve. Finally, after the restoration, the film was downscaled back to 2k for uploading to RUclips.

    I remember the 1977 Suzuki RM's such a cool bike. I wanted a 125 but settled for a used 1977 RM80. It was a fun and fast little bike.👍
