I owned an RM370A and an RM370B while I worked in Saudi Arabia in the late 70s. Superb motorcycles. Absolutely excellent power band with really strong bottom end and no high RPM spike. The suspension for the day was excellent. I briefly owned a TM400 which was absolute garbage and I dumped that bike as quick as I could sell it. Rode both of the 370s mainly on sand and neither bike ever let me down. I did chain maintenance and changed spark plugs a few times and that was about it. I did a lot of pathfinding for 4WD vehicles in sand on various types of dunes which helped prevent the trucks from getting stuck in soft sand. When I did ride on rock or gravel you had to respect the power the bike had on tap because it could do wheel stands in 4th gear. They were wonderful production motorcycles and the first good Japanese dirt bike I owned.

    A good friend of mine had a 79 RM400. I had a 76 250, great times.

I got this bike when I was 14 and weighed about 115lbs...I would put it on the kickstand and start at the top of the stroke and it was a 2 kick starter! Nobody could out drag me on this bike with my weight! Of 30+ bikes, THIS is my favorite!

You definitely exploited the power to weight ratio! Thank you so much for your comment…love to hear from those who have had one.

I'm thinking you have a set of Simmons aftermarket forks there also, as the yellow fork sliders are a giveaway, aftermarket rear shocks also, most really fast riders liked better suspension

I was thinking they are Simons too but haven’t verified yet. Thank you for your interest!
