Mine have UV-5RH on that lower label and on the back. The manual says BF-5RH though. An important difference is that the transmit is a whole lot cleaner than I've seen on the older UV-5R with the 2nd harmonic 50dB down using the stock antenna. Using one of those cheap AR-771 antennas the power is down 9dB but the 2nd harmonic is completely gone (lost in the noise) so might be a good option for ham events where there will be a lot of band usage.

The Triband version states 136-174 / 220-260 / 400-520MHz where as the multiband states 108-136MHz (RX) VHF1: 144-148MHZ (RX&TX) ; VHF2: 200-260MHz (RX) UHF1: 430-440MHz (RX&TX) ; UHF2: 350-390MH2 (RX) Is this correct or can the multi also use 400-520MHz (RX&TX), can it be changed in software or is it locked?

@@bigwill4423 so in short baofeng made the UV5RH?
@@Rylisa24 ....I can't say for sure but it certainly has baofeng components.
@@bigwill4423 should i purchase it even it's not totally made by baofeng was is worth it?
I mean $18 is a steal.
desarmelo para ver el hardware
With that mislabeling, maybe it's a Baofeng 'knockoff'?......
@@mickgatz214 Baofeng don't make "knockoffs" as such but the way they operate is that they will "custom build" a radio for any reseller who orders enough radios from them. This way we get radios which don't seem to be "official" but are still actually made by Baofeng. An example would be the very popular Baofeng UV-17 Pro GPS which though it isn't "officially supported" by Baofeng, is nonetheless made by them. 👍
@@bigwill4423 Hi Wiill. Yeah, I know, I was just being a tad sarcastic considering the multitude of different model/version/s that a continuosly being released. Still go my original UV-5R, but the UV-5RH/M is def a breath of fresh aiir with it's colour screen. I still hold tight with the robust UV-5R coz those little Mosfet don't seem to wanna die under any circumstanses! (JUST too hot to handle sometimes.;) ).
Thanky you for your in depth review.
Cheers,
Mick
@@mickgatz214 Thanks Mick. Yep, still a lot of life left in the good old UV-5R. It still does the job and all these newer variants are just window dressing really on the little UV-5R that changed the face of ham radio forever!
