Maybe can you help me with my GTX not driving more than 10 mph just finish to rebuild the mikuni kit. But I not think this is the issue I think the previous owner mix gas and oil in a same tank Maybe this can be the problem? Maybe this water pump?
Are you sure you got spark in both pistons? I had a problem like that once and all it was I forgot to connect the throttle shaft at the bottom of the carb. Stupid mistake but you never know….
I usually replace the carbon seals with new ones on all used machines anyways, and I usually replace them with carrier bearings anyways. I sold this ski for $2800 with no trailer. A $50 new seal/carrier isn't a huge issue and its a peace of mind for the new owner.
Is the 97 Seadoo GTX wear ring size 140MM? I have 2 GTX’s and both need wear rings. Figured you might have an answer for me. Thanks!
Yes. If they have the 787 engine. The 951 engines got the 155mm pump
When this are worn do you hear line a rattle noise of metal? I have 2002 GTX RFI and it kinda rattles
@rudyshoplopez7366 no they all rattle a little..when its worn you lose forward propulsion. Itll rev up but not move in the water
@@GCEXTREMEMN thanks for the reply, good to know
Do u haft to take out the drive shaft to pull the pump off or can u just un bolt the pump and it slide off on a 98 waverunner?
I dont know anything about Yamaha Waverunners. My channel is for Sea-Doo skis.
No, you do not need to take the driveshaft out to remove the pump.
Ya I was sure you didn't have to take the driveshaft out

Why do you work on/restore seadoos mainly and not yamahas too? I must say my 95 seadoo xp 720 is more fun than my 97 yamaha gp1200 though.
Cuz I prefer Seadoos and thats what I know. I know the 717cc and 787cc and 951cc engines and carbs.
You’re going around your ass to get to your elbow carbon seal does not have to be done just for ware ring
