Feel totally free to experiment the recipe with your own favorite spices and herbs. The real focaccia bread is very versatile (you can add, dried tomato, green olives, cheese, herbs, onion, garlic and the list goes on 😅)!
@@zaracookswow! This is amazing, I used sour cream, black olive, green chillies and a bit of cheese😋😋😋😋sooo nice, thank you so very much once again, I will be looking into your other videos❤❤
Actually, it depends on the quality of your product. If it looks clean and well packaged, I will soak directly. But if you see the product dusty and with average packaging, I would clean and rinse before soaking. In all cases, you need to rinse extremely well after you soak to discard the leptins, phytic acid and other anti-nutrients. I also sometimes, when I have time, I change the soaking water once or twice to improve the taste of the bread (you’ll decrease the lentil aftertaste) 🙏
You can always use green lentil and get a nutritious and delicious meal. But the texture and taste won’t be exactly the same. This recipe turns almost like the regular borek or spanakopita in terms of taste! That’s not the case with lentils with skin, unfortunately 🙏
Sorry to hear that 🥲 Usually, if it’s dense that means the batter was too runny! Make sure you drain completely the rinsed lentils out of the water. It takes some trial and error before you get the right batter consistency and the best results 🙏🥰
Can I add green chillies just to spice it up? 😅

@@zaracooks thank you, if I want to add cheese, should I add it on top like black olive or blend it together with lentil?
@@Binti1801 I think, it’s better to insert it like I did for the olives (more fun to have cheesy bites, I think) 🙏
@@zaracooks I will let you know how I get on😄 thank you so much for your reply. Have a wonderful day

Isn't there an advantage to rinsing before soaking?

Hi Chief, can Green Lentils be used if it’s the only one available in this recipe??

Thanx!
Cottage cheese is the freshly curdled milk ..right? Or is some kind of cheese..
Absolutely 👍
Is there an alternative if no cottage cheese available? Maybe Greek yogurt?
@@Little_sprout_edits326 yes, you can use Greek yogurt or sour cream instead of cottage cheese 🙏
its looks so delicious
Thank you 🙏 Hope you give it a try 🥰
Why does mine not turn out crumbly but super dense? 😢
Sorry to hear that 🥲
