    I've probably watched this upwards of 50 times in the past week haha. Andy, you are a god!

  • @SomethinWild

    Being somewhat of a guitar player myself, I must say but one thing: everybody comparing Andy to other players, needs to wake up and realize how clean his playing actually is. No sloppiness, hands perfectly syncronized, long alternate pick runs, excellent note choice and modern approach to the guitar.
    He's one of the iconic players of this decade for sure.
    (I know, maybe Petrucci is even cleaner, Gilbert more creative and Batio faster, but you get my point).

      jcruz04 beside years. You need to born with the rarest gift creativity to make amazing melodies and sounds

      creativity is also something that can be learned

    • @AlexElFriki

      Giiggle Agree but im talking about native creativity not the one you learn or stealth

    • @Geraet
      @Geraet 7 лет назад +7

      I would put it this way, you can learn to be more creativy simple by listening to lots of different music and studying it, but to some people that "out of the box" thinking comes more natural, and they have a way of writing that reflects their personality, which can't be replicated by others

    • @AlexElFriki

      Giiggle That's my point with a more literary vocabulary

    Note to the producers of this video: The time I spent seeing how your fancy cameras can move all around the room, the less time I spent seeing this guys hands. I'm sure some people would be more interested in the cameras moving about, but not me. Just sayin'.

      @TruthSurge 9 лет назад

      Alex Wright I get that the bridge helps you sound cleaner (for some reason) but I just almost always saw him using the neck pu. I did see him do Black Star and that was some bridge pu in there. He's a good guitarist.

    • @ThePudgyPlatypi
      @ThePudgyPlatypi 9 лет назад

      +TruthSurge at 2:26 you can see him switch to the bridge. Not sure if he does this any other times

    • @TruthSurge

      ezekeil33 just seemed he used the neck pu 95% of the time. Maybe not for the rhythms as much but for solos, melodies.

      I'm quite sure guitar has no Bounds. If it takes inventing a style that only you can play then do it. If not for that you wouldnt even see a solo like that cause no one in their right minds 100 years ago would say " Hey lets try this " And start shredding like a bitch . Feel me?

    One thing about him that always really amazed me was how completely unique his phrasing is and plus the harmonies you get something completely and unheard of before and its incredible. And not only is it crazy that he was able to write and record this in the studio... he plays completely in time live with his backing tracks. Can you imagine playing harmonies that accurately at that speed that weave in and out of a sing like this?!

    • @SchecterMongoose
      @SchecterMongoose 11 лет назад

      EMG's needs to have the 9V changed about every 2000 hours. Some change it more often. 2 best ways to tell in my experience are to either A) Use a battery tester about every 6 months or so (depending if you gig or just practice), or B) Listen to your sound. They will start to lose tone and gain with a dying battery. I usually replace all mine once a year when I do my setup in the spring after the weather gets warm again.

    Totally. I'm not 'in love' with everything Andy's done but this performance in particular just spoke to me in a way that very few have. Granted, the players you mentioned are BRILLIANT in their own right, but this one just floors me. Every time I watch it, I get something new. Thankfully, it's not essential to be as good as these guys to make music or I'd have to quit. Personally, I dig everyone from Dime to Holdsworth, Roy Clark, Page, Morello, Cazares, Govan, Loomis, Friedman, Abasi, Vai...

    The metal band Origin has songs, in which the riffs are mainly arpeggios, mainly on their album Echoes of Decimation.

    Every song of this guy sounds exactly the same. He has no musical dinamic. Is like a computer trying to sound human.

      Kameron WilliamsI do not to like to sound like an asshole, this guy has an ability that is beyond incredible. I was just putting my point of view that It is impossible for me to listen more than 2 songs of the guy. He has an incredible technic,despite his little finger being short and kind of crooked.

    • @tylerj8728
      @tylerj8728 9 лет назад +2

      No he doesn't. You know nothing. Seperation sounds completely different and so do a ton of other of his songs

      Tyler J Well, I am a classical musician so I do know what I'm talking about. This guy is horible as far as music is concerned. And my oppinion is my oppinion and it is not opoen to dicussion. There are many other guitar freaks that are better than him, becuase they have the technic and the ability to do music.

    • @tylerj8728
      @tylerj8728 9 лет назад +4

      Well you're a classic musicians so keep to classic music then. This style is way different. That's like Jimmy Hendrix talking about Andy it's two whole different things.
