      Man ! you are simply awsome ... love how musical your compositions are, never compromising the groove in the name of technique (some shredders could learn a thing or two from you)

      I enjoy every second of every video/music you do. Dat badass playing style, clean notes that you seem to never miss and musicality of songs that are exercises in shredding at the same time can't be beaten. And I love your teaching videos, they are the best in existence.

    Don't be overwhelmed by him. Use him as a model to shoot for. One step at a time we can get close. Break it down: scales with fast alternate picking (can do), arpeggios (can do), finger tapping (can do), legato slurs (can do), perfect string bending (listen carefully, develop the ear), great tone (good equipment), great guitar, love, dedication, hours and hours of devotion; step by step, one step at a time. move a step closer each time you practice. It is there for the asking. God Bless.

    Hands down one of the best shredders on the planet! Andy James takes playing the instrument to a whole new level. His technique and vibrato is unlike anything I've ever heard. This is a Andy at his very best, mixing arpeggios with melodic runs it's just pure genius..

    This song proves Andy doesn't have to shred through an entire song and still make it so interesting that it grabs your attention from the start and doesn't let go. You can't teach that, you have to have the golden ear to write like this. Definitely a welcome inspiration when one was lacking.

    That one bend in the refrain.. man thats so fuckin awesome. for example 1:36 ..
    andy is one of the guitarists who doesnt really try to get all his skills in every part, he work with harmony and the real fact of music. i love it, nobody can deny putting andy james to the top of guitarists, next to the old godfathers and the "newcomers" like Synyster Gates. I love his music, it opens me more than anything else.

      Gutao Abreu that's how the mindset of the troll works. There is no disagreement in style preference on the Internet. To a troll, everyone they disagree with is stupid and everything they don't like is also stupid and lacks value. They may not think that, but they don't realize that's pretty much what they are saying

    • @flagmuffin1221
      @flagmuffin1221 9 лет назад

      Gutao Abreu There's no denying he's good...skill wise. Feeling? Definitely on a waiting list for that. He;s got potential, but from what I've heard of him playing, it's mostly speedy sweeping and alt-picking runs followed by harmonies and bending, all some sort of spooky scale. That's just from what I've heard.
      I'm more than willing to give him more of a listen if you point me in the direction of some more melodic and graceful stuff he plays.

Keep it up Andy, and thanks for showing me the way I could be happy with music. Thank you very much.

      Anti Kyle To be fair though, I don't think "feeling" is the main focus on this type of instrumental music, it seems more like a composition in the same way Beethoven, Mozart and Bach made compositions, as is the same with guys like Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow you know?

    I love players who CAN play 1000mph that realize sometimes less is more and that with a minimalist approach sometimes just a few well placed notes or chords can bring on the chills.

    I learned basically the exact tap lick at 3:19 from reb beach a few months back! felt so good to hear something ive played utilized by a guy of andy's caliber! You ROCK!!

    I really love his sound.. Granted Jeff Loomis can shred, but I actually prefer Andy's styling.

      Totally. Andy's taste is much better than Jeff's. Both great players, though.

      Mike Scanlan I actually like Loomis better than Andy but it's personal taste, they're both phenomenal shredders

      @mikescanlan4653 10 лет назад +3

      Yea absolutely. And honestly I guess it depends on the day, sometimes I prefer Jeff's, other times Andy's. Jeff loomis has me captivated with his Conquering Dystopia album. Him, Keith Merrow, Alex Webster, and Rudinger from The Faceless. stunning mix of players.

      exactly. it is a matter of taste but jeff only shreds no feeling and melodic. andy has much more feelings on strings. i dont know if it is a right comparison or not, he is hard version of JS.

      Gurler Turker People need to stop with the "Feeling" thing. Just because its not slower and melodic does not mean it lacks feeling.

    I've always watched Andy James videos and learned from his lessons but the past 6 months I haven't paid much attention to his new songs. I just have to say that he is seriously stepping his game up and that his overall sound is getting better, not so abstract as it used to be although it still sounded great. Doin it up my man, keep at it

      Tone is mostly in the fingers and play style in my opinion ;) Some people spend penny after penny and don't sound any better no matter what the rig.

      James Haggart Yea,there is a lot of guitar playstyles.
      Andy tone is sure provided by his fingers,while players like Andy Timmons have wonderfull tone by equipament ( and skills lol ).
