Hey guys, welcome back to another lesson to learn Cantonese at Cantolounge!
If you'd like to read a fuller version of the Cantonese lesson, you can read the corresponding blog post at Cantolounge here:
cantolounge.co...
Today we're going to wrap up our three part series on Cantonese "tenses", with a discussion on how to express the future in Cantonese.
Specifically, we're going to go through three segments today:
1. Through Cantonese adverbs like 到時 and 陣間
2. With the aspect marker 會
3. Negating 會 with 唔
In comparison to the present or the past, surprisingly, the future is relatively easy to express.
I hope you'll enjoy the presentation, and if you have any questions or comments, don't forget to leave a comment below in the comments area!
今日講到呢道先,下次再傾!
Thanks for this episode. A great job !
Thanks for watching, Somboon! :)
Thank you very much from Spain . Keep it up !!!
Muchas gracias Julian - please drop by again!
At 5:43, it should be 決心 not 缺心 =)
6:18 The underlined words directly translates to "from then on" so the text reads "after THIS there will be new _something_ and from then on there is change to a full dependance on computer science and true nonstatistical numerical calculation"
What about "ci(?) di1" for "later"? I've heard that one before. Is it not as common? (I don't want to sound too weird to native speakers XD )
遲啲 is perfectly fine as well, although if we had to be pedantic, I would say that if we had to compare the two on a timeline, 陣間 is a little closer to now (maybe a couple hours later), but 遲啲 might be later (something like the next time we meet, a few days later).
That's a really good question, thanks for dropping by! :)
Awesome, great to know! Thank you for making all these helpful lessons!
Maintenant! Now..french 😆
Tell me, what are differences between 會唔會 and 識唔識?
會唔會 means "will it (something)?" and 識唔識 means "do you know how to do (something). I think you ask this question is because 會 also means 識 in Mandarin.
But they have different meaning in Cantonese
You guys are going to be infinetly writing but then some point of agreeance
The last example has a mistake in juytping: you wrote "gon2", but it should be "gong2".
thanks for material!
I need to start an error jar - a penny for every mistake spotted lol. Thanks for letting me know! :)
Come on! We all make mistakes, aren't we? :) Just add an annotation in the video :)
Haha, I'm glad you see it that way! Annotations have since been removed from RUclips, but I'll add a note in the description.
damn it :) OK, that way is good too :)
