Its 2023 March 19, My second day of learning French. I am very impressed with the work you have done. I scrolled down to see all the videos of yours. it's so much hard work that the whole team has put together. Couple of years ago I started learning English Speaking because I am a Public Speaker , so I always want to know more and learn more languages. Now French is my Next Goal. With the help of this Channel I am going to learn a lot.

Be careful guys! "salut" can't be used like "hi" in English. In English, you can say Hi! to a waiter or someone like that. In french, don't say salut! to someone who is attending you or helping you. If you don't know someone, don't use salut! either. It's way too informal and you will sound quite rude, and too friendly!
You reminded me of a little anecdote of my half-French son when he was four years old in England. We went to a charity shop, and he saw a Noddy book so started saying 'oui oui' (which is the French name for Noddy, the Enid Blyton character) - the lady running the shop overheard and offered him use of their toilet!

The only youtube videos I watch for french outside my other studies are your because they are so funny. Like it's not a big deal, we're just learning and we're going to have fun.
Okay this is weird but when I’m around people for a while I tend to pick up their accents or ways of speaking. For example, I went on vacation and met some french people and spent the majority of my time with them. I ended up picking up their accents when I spoke and even mannerisms after a few days without even noticing until my one friend mentioned it. I suppose if you spent some time with French speakers or in a french country you can pick up the accent quite easily.

I have very basic French from the Canadian School system, but conjugating verbs was always the building block that stumped students. I want to build up my French vocabulary ( kicking myself for not learning more when I was younger) because my Hubbie's nieces and nephews are Montrealers and are fluently bilingual, but his nephew's wife's first language is French, so I want to be able to have a basic conversation with her, en Francais. She works hard at her English and I'd like to meet her half way with my conversational French.

Somebody can please explain to me why she makes that breathy sound at the end of some words? For example, here 15:41 with the word "Vie", but she also makes it with a lot of other words. I'm just curious if I should pronounce those words like that too.
Hello, iam actually a bilingual french and arabic, and i teach french also at uni so maybe i can help you by giving you a point of view. Normally the accent she makes at each final words sound is uncessary, in france many accents exist the one of the north (paris champagne ardenne cale) the south (marseille and so on) Each one of them sounds and read the same word yet they differ at ending of the word depending on their region, some people make the weird h she pronounce others add a é etc, it is also due to beathing and her way of talk, she looks sometimes stressed or in hurry (her face turns red it means her senses were in alert) this is a revelant cause wich made us add a sound caused by our breathing process... in conclusion, you should limit yourself to emitate or learn the main souns of the world and make you learning stronger bu listening to different sources in oder to get amilir to all sounds. I wish I'd seen your comment before I made a similar one! It's like she's making the throaty "chhhhhkkkkkk" sound Germans make when they pronounce "ch" (except people in Berlin). It's the same sound as in "Ich auch."

My French friend said "de rien" is casual - sometimes too casual (considering French language and society is quite (beautifully) formal and traditional compared to anglophone places in many ways). Considering 'rien' means 'nothing', it's like 'it's nothing, don't worry about it, no problem, any time' etc. 'Je vous en prie' or 'je t'en prie' is more specifically 'You are welcome'.
Just an idea - could you add the article for each French noun? As the gender of nouns does rule so much of the French Grammar, i think it's so important to learn the noun and the article together.

@@alotofclouds5706 every person has their own method for memorise words. Some write like us, some watch videos etc. I personally figured out that the best way memorising is writing for me. I don't know what is yours but this method works for me.

At 5:44 - "Je ne comprends pas" I'm reminded of an old joke by Alvarez Guedes, the humorista Cubano, God rest his soul (from my mother's country) he had a joke that a Frenchman was in Cuba or Spain (I forgot which) and he needed to pee and he couldn't find a place to pee so he unzipped his pants and started to pee on some flour sacks of a bakery, the baker comes out mad as hell and starts yelling at the Frenchman in Spanish, why he is peeing on the sacks of flour, the Frenchman didn't understand and responds with "Je ne comprends pas!!" and in Spanish it sounds like "Yo no compro pan" which literally means, "I don't buy bread " and the baker yells back, "And just because you don't buy bread you have to urinate on my sacks of flour?!?!" 😆 You had to be there. I was live streaming tunes and picked one french song.. 😅 aaaaaaand after: 6,382 different artists And.. 😧🤯 326 different genres 72,759 minutes listening to music.. 2nd favourite genre being french pop (after my first french song easily had 400 tracks saved within 72 hours.) I somehow managed more than 96% of others in America. As you see I really had no choice on whether or not to learn or not. French music fused with my mind and soul. I couldn't stop, i explored everything from even pre 1900s although the most explored years that I also believe is essential to really uncover the sheer groundbreaking value is 2950s-2010. And narrower id say if nothing 60s-80s. Easy to notice how much french music had a big part in what music is today.

Somebody can please explain to me why she makes that breathy sound at the end of some words?
For example, here 15:41 with the word "Vie", but she also makes it with a lot of other words. I'm just curious if I should pronounce those words like that too.
Hello, iam actually a bilingual french and arabic, and i teach french also at uni so maybe i can help you by giving you a point of view.
Normally the accent she makes at each final words sound is uncessary, in france many accents exist the one of the north (paris champagne ardenne cale) the south (marseille and so on)
Each one of them sounds and read the same word yet they differ at ending of the word depending on their region, some people make the weird h she pronounce others add a é etc, it is also due to beathing and her way of talk, she looks sometimes stressed or in hurry (her face turns red it means her senses were in alert) this is a revelant cause wich made us add a sound caused by our breathing process... in conclusion, you should limit yourself to emitate or learn the main souns of the world and make you learning stronger bu listening to different sources in oder to get amilir to all sounds.

I wish I'd seen your comment before I made a similar one! It's like she's making the throaty "chhhhhkkkkkk" sound Germans make when they pronounce "ch" (except people in Berlin). It's the same sound as in "Ich auch."

My French friend said "de rien" is casual - sometimes too casual (considering French language and society is quite (beautifully) formal and traditional compared to anglophone places in many ways). Considering 'rien' means 'nothing', it's like 'it's nothing, don't worry about it, no problem, any time' etc. 'Je vous en prie' or 'je t'en prie' is more specifically 'You are welcome'.

Just an idea - could you add the article for each French noun?
As the gender of nouns does rule so much of the French Grammar, i think it's so important to learn the noun and the article together.

Could be much more useful if you slow the speed down while you speak French because it is too fast. And french pronounciation is really different than that of English.

Please pronounce French sentences slowly and loud, and don't forget you have to speak more French than English. Your examples are nice. :)
For slow, you can change the speed of the video. Once its slow, you will not feel the need to put it louder.

@@alotofclouds5706 every person has their own method for memorise words. Some write like us, some watch videos etc. I personally figured out that the best way memorising is writing for me. I don't know what is yours but this method works for me.

Hi, I am Spanish speaker, I am learning French now and trying to polish up my English skills. From my point of view, I don't think French is similar to Spanish; it looks much harder for me 7u7.
At 5:44 - "Je ne comprends pas" I'm reminded of an old joke by Alvarez Guedes, the humorista Cubano, God rest his soul (from my mother's country) he had a joke that a Frenchman was in Cuba or Spain (I forgot which) and he needed to pee and he couldn't find a place to pee so he unzipped his pants and started to pee on some flour sacks of a bakery, the baker comes out mad as hell and starts yelling at the Frenchman in Spanish, why he is peeing on the sacks of flour, the Frenchman didn't understand and responds with "Je ne comprends pas!!" and in Spanish it sounds like "Yo no compro pan" which literally means, "I don't buy bread " and the baker yells back, "And just because you don't buy bread you have to urinate on my sacks of flour?!?!" 😆 You had to be there. Esa estubo buena. 😆

6,382 different artists
And.. 😧🤯 326 different genres
72,759 minutes listening to music.. 2nd favourite genre being french pop (after my first french song easily had 400 tracks saved within 72 hours.) I somehow managed more than 96% of others in America.
As you see I really had no choice on whether or not to learn or not. French music fused with my mind and soul.
I couldn't stop, i explored everything from even pre 1900s although the most explored years that I also believe is essential to really uncover the sheer groundbreaking value is 2950s-2010. And narrower id say if nothing 60s-80s.
Easy to notice how much french music had a big part in what music is today.
