I've made a lentil soup for years (using crock pot and later instant pot) but never thought of adding leeks or collard greens to it! I'll add those next time. I do typically add a cut-up turkey kielbasa into it for a little extra flavor and protein. I've only ever seen one kind of lentils at the grocery store; will have to notice what color they are. I think they must mush up a little, because mine is the ugliest soup you've ever seen but tastes out of this world. 😄Thanks for the recipe; going to modify mine next time!

I want to share one tip here, soak you lentils for 30 minutes to an hour before cooking to prevent the skin from coming of during cooking. Also when ever I make lentil soup, I like to blend 1/4 to 1/3 of it at the end of cooking. That gives to soup a better consistency
Do I have to use leaks, I don't like cumin can you recommend another spice? One last question I never had those greens you said add spinach at the end correct

Cabbage would definitely work. I would slice it thin and add it in early.
