Mad respect to COLORS for showcasing this huge artist.

So freaking inclusive, they get extra points but lose some for being white :/

So many mad clowns here, can't accept that's the world we live in 🤡🤡🤡
In addition to the employees at Colors, I would like to give a huge shout out to Paul Lorton, the sound engineer of Colors Studio. He is the person behind all the incredible, crisp audio we get on all these shows with no credit. Let's give him his flowers please
THE SOUND IS IMPRESSIVE
what an icon!!!
wonderful sound!!!
The fact that that I'm not the only person who noticed
Damn the audio is cuhleannn even on my wimpy ahh phone speaker it sounds sublime
west africa is not just afrobeat: j'adore
Yes ❤️
Funny thing is what we call Afrobeat right now has nothing to do with what it actually is. There is nothing similar between Fela Kuti/Salif Keita's music and say Wizkid's or even Burna Boy's music. It's more like Afropop.
@@ibrahimkante6022 Afrobeat vs Afrobeats, small difference but it's one that all the artists emphasise.
@@ibrahimkante6022 You're wrong because thats Afrobeats there's a difference and thats the S
You mean Afro pop because what is being played today has nothing to do with Afro beat lol
Dude didn't look at the strings even once, what a legend. His face at times was like, "Impressed? Yeah me too lol"
he looks like a king ♥️
I love this comment! 😍 My mom is from Mali, so I secretely feel a little honored too haha 😄😊 I always love to see people wear their traditional clothing, though I never labeled it like that, but I totally agree!
Because he is sis x
@@M.I.22 My first thought was, "He is very Regal"
he's a king ;)
He's a 70 something generation griot. Griots are storytellers and Kora players. So it's in this blood, he was made to do this.
More artist like him please Colors 😍🇲🇱
Yes, way better than the woke generation "artists"!
Yes pleaseeee
Just in case you ever wondered what life in the ancient Mali empire of Africa sounded like, here you go. We are all welcome.
Africans underrate their cultures so much. Why must we struggle to find things like this? There should be a ‘classical’ African music channel or something to give these lost arts exposure growth and more life.
no fr there should beee!
then make one
They exist. Seek them out. Look to Mali.
Music came to the first , that’s why 😂
It's not a struggle. If you know the names of the instruments you'll find various channels and videos with the music and also popular artists from the given regions and cultures.
The African performances on here are some of my favorites. This was soothing, a bit therapeutic, and I also love the warm colors.
Sevdaliza gurrl is here too :D
From Mali 🇲🇱
Thank you COLORS, for showcasing artists from around the world and granting me the privilege to be able to hear music from all cultures
Wow
From Mali 🇲🇱
I love traditional/classical African music. It’s something that’s just so peaceful and deeply connected and comforting to my soul. I love being African (Mandinka) and proud that the Kora is getting the recognition it deserves
this is awesome and the first i've ever heard of this instrument or style could u put me onto a few of ur personal favorites that are in this vein?

I hope you feel just as good then as you do now. Maybe even better ❤

This never gets old; I'm proud to be an African.
I love the sound of Kora instrument.

A beautiful Rumi verse immediately comes to mind while listening to these chords.
"Out beyond ideas of right and wrong, there is a field. I will meet you there."
Rumi quote on this comment section sooo much culture. I love it. Words for my heart music for my soul

Hhhh and while reading this beautiful rumi verse immediately my mind goes to these words "catch me outside, ****" sorry i couldnt help myself, much love hhhhhh
By the look on his face, this man is communing with the gods.
They’ve gathered hoping to meet him.
This is the music I grew up on. Proud Guinean.
❤
The way I felt his music on a spiritual level...so freaking talented.
You were African... ☺️
The type of sound that makes everyone stop and sit quietly in silence while the power of music enters the soul.
Masha’Allah talented man. Much love from Somalia 🇸🇴 viva Africa
He plays with the grace of a king’s royal musician. Beautiful.
Love to my Malian People.
How mesmerizing, his music is awakening my sense of wonder.
It’s as if I’m running in a field of grass

This guy is dressed like a king and playing beautiful music with very skilled hands and makes it sound natural like breathing. What is not to love?
C'est dingue la coordination qu'il possède dans les doigts, on dirait que plusieurs personnes jouent à la fois.

Listen to 'Ballake Sissoko & Toumani Diabat - Bafoulabe' when you can. Just an incredibly beautiful song. I first heard it several years ago on 'Mala's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix' - also helped broaden my horizon.
One day I wish for a Colors fest that resembles the Montreal Jazz fest

I agree & it would surpass any festival anywhere🙏🏼❤
I'm from Montreal and somehow I've never been... I need to!
Glad to see Malian music is finally getting the recognition it deserves ❤️🇲🇱
The traditional music of Mali is among the most interesting on the world scene. The Sissoko family has been full of talented griots for generations. ❤
Did anyone else feel the music in your heart?
Yes!
Me too! Very spiritual and healing. One of the most beautiful instruments I’ve ever heard

So regal. So Africa. I love it. What a beautiful world we live in full of beauty still. Amazing music.
I don't really listen to music without lyrics (except some Beethoven, etc and not very often) but I really like this and he is very charismatic.
You should!
@@Pat315 yeah I know but I'm easily distracted and I don't understand every nuances of music so it's more complicated for me to understand and appreciate some music. But sometimes I really enjoy it depends of how I feel I guess. And I really like techno, house, and trance music without lyrics so I don't know maybe my ears are just not used to it. But I will definitely try and listen to songs without lyrics now.

The Original harp. Absolutely beautiful in sound and musicianship, this is amazing.
Thanks Sir harp is originally African
The banjo also came from Africa. It was called "the banjar". Apparently the first string instrument was found in Mesopotamia, but Africans made it better of course :)
Kora my G. F the harp.
There's another in the Lake Victoria region called the Nyatiti
No it's not the African harp. It's a Kora. Simple as it is.
Saw this amazing musician with his band in York, UK a couple of years ago, all of them were brilliant and their music absolutely blew me away, a must see.
Mali/Senegal land of the genius that shaped our civilization
Malian music is my absolute favourite from african music. ❤️
I love the Kora! Makes beautiful music!
Oh my god, what have i just heard? This was so beautiful, it made me emotionally melt. And we here in Europe are so ignorant that we have never heard of such a master? I can hardly imagine what richness is out there in Africa.
Watching this from Zimbabwe, this is awesome. Africa is a basket of beautiful culture

By far one of my favorite featured artist on Colors. He is phenomenal 🙌🏽🔥
When I listen to this song and all of his songs, it's the equivalent of piano and violin classics. Like Mozart, Debussy, Vivaldi and others!
And also classic Brazilian music with acoustic guitars and "violas".
