  • My Elook car cassette adapter kept being ejected from my cassette player immediately after inserting it. I found out that if I removed the small rubber wheel in the cassette adapter that the adapter would play my songs from my MP3 player. If you are having trouble with your adapter being ejected try removing the wheel as shown in the video.

    Before these adapters, we had to chisel podcasts onto stone tablets. They were very heavy if you wanted to listen to a long show. One ox wasn’t enough, you would need two ,to pull the cart for a long show.

    • @RobbsHomemadeLife
      @RobbsHomemadeLife  3 года назад +1

      Oxen? You had Oxen? We were not so lucky. We used unionized monkeys to pull our tablets over a trail of bananas that helped slide them. They always lay the good side of the tablet down and got it covered in bananas and made it hard to use.

    Many devices just come with unnecessary parts ... I remember when i used to work on my car back in my college days, when i was done i always ended up with a handful of extra nuts and bolts ... And the car ran just fine, maybe even better!😁😁😁 grt video Robb.. TC 😊😊

    Thanks Robb, really a well done tutorial and I think Oria tool kit is a good look also. I recently purchased one of those Bluetooth devices and it got stuck day one of placing the cassette into the player in my car. I came by your video searching for a way to get unstuck, I'll search your previous your videos a see what I come up with...

    Some cassette players will refuse to play unless they detect the proper tension and movement of a cassette, so I assume what those gears are for. The gears are probably not needed for most car players. Interesting (and helpful) video, thanks!

      Yeah unfortunately my 96 Cadillac needs the gear but yet it still ejects. I was psyched until I tried to use the adapter after trying to fix it. It ejects both with and without that stupid gear so now i'm stuck trying to clean it or finding another solution.

    I'm mildly surprised, removing the little wheel actually worked for me. Brand new adapter would not stay in my cassette player. FM radio adapter suffered too much interference. Removed the little wheel, working great so far.

    Interesting stuff, Robb. I wonder why the manufacturer of the adapter even bothers to put in the multiple gears, etc. if the device will work fine without them. ~ Should you put a little bit of glue (hot melt) around where the wire goes into the cassette, to strengthen that point so the wire doesn't get too much flexing / weakening?

    • @RobbsHomemadeLife
      @RobbsHomemadeLife  3 года назад +2

      I like your glue idea. I am going to take all of the gears out and see what happens next.

    I did that and mine is still ejecting. It says "clean tape" then tries to play one way then the other then ejects the adapter saying "check tape".

      I had this issue as well I went and purchased another one from dollar general and tried the same method and works just fine not sure if you figured it out but a new tape worked for me not sure why tho hope this helps

  • @bradcogan8588
    @bradcogan8588 11 месяцев назад +1

    The more modern '80s and '90s cassette players had auto rewind functions that would detect that the tape had stopped moving. The wheel is to simulate the tape moving. Removing it means it won't work in auto rewind systems, because the system will think it's out of tape.

    My cassette adapter keeps making an annoying squeaking sound whenever I put it in the player. I have to insert it in over and over and sometimes, it'll stop. Is this rubber wheel in the video the same culprit?

    • @RobbsHomemadeLife
      @RobbsHomemadeLife  2 месяца назад

      It's hard to say for sure but it sure sounds like that's the problem.

    I was surprised by how little is in the cassette.

    • @williwonti
      @williwonti 3 года назад +1

      Well all it needs is the fake tape head to send signals to the head unit and a cassette case to keep it aligned really. Some head units might have additional sensors or whatnot to prevent problems and allow for tape reverse etc so the extra gubbins might be useful for those.

    • @RobbsHomemadeLife

      Hey Paul, I know, just the tape head and the useless wheels. If I turn the volume way down I can hear them rotating but who plays music low in a car,LOL
