My FIRST car review! After years of considering and months of anxiety-inducing waffling on whether to make the leap or not, it's here! Please let me know what you think, and any positive criticiism is apprecaited! Specifically I'm going for an 'everyperson' view of a car. How it looks, is it comfortable, and does it motivate forward well.... Do y'all love that I don't get hung-up in the weeds of HP and torque and the stats or do you want to see more of it?
How is the reliability of the CVTs? Because if I were looking for an Accord, that might make me go for the previous generation with its 5 speed automatic transmission, as it's a generally more trusted transmission.
My 2013 Accord only has 50K on it, so I decided to invest in it rather than buy a new car.. Pricey new wheels, Michelin tires, some body work, detailing, and suddenly it is... a new car. Wow. Was going to replace the head unit but then realized the sound is nice as it is. The Gen9 engine is supposed to be good for 200K miles. Hang onto yours!
Great job. I've owned an American 2014 Honda Accord EX for 5 years and now have a 2015 Honda Accord from Singapore, these cars are absolutely great. It's hard to go wrong with a Honda, especially an Accord!!!
If you didn’t tell us this was your first video I wouldn’t have noticed. The car is amazing and so is your review! You just convinced me to purchase my neighbor’s ‘14 Accord with 155k miles. Keep being great and thank you!
I have a 2013 EX-L, in the same color as your car, but with different wheels, a sunroof and the other bells and whistles of the more expensive EX-L. I have had zero problems with my car, though to be fair, it has very low mileage for a car of its age. I agree with your assessment of this generation Accord--the CVT transmission works just fine, the handling is precise, the acceleration more than adequate, the gas mileage on the highway is exceptional, the ride is a bit stiff and the tire noise is a bit higher than I would like. I'm keeping my car for as long as I and it will keep running. Good review.
This model and generation of the Accord is my dream car. The only Honda that I have ever driven is a 1990 Honda Accord LX manual transmission. That is the car that I have.
I like your style of reveiw. Your point are clear and concise, and you discuss the stuff that really matters (at least to me). I especially trust your review because its your own vehicle, unlike most reviewers that have a car for a week and publish their reviews. Excellent job!
I’m one of your first subscribers, you’re definitely on your way! Great review. I love reviews about every day cars that are normal work horses for an every day person like me lol! I take care of my mother so I needed to get rid of my SUV so I traded it to a new Chevy Malibu last April. Mom can now get in my vehicle with minimum assistance. I’ve got a 1987 Volvo 740GLE with a five speed. I love a stick shift! That car is a tank, it has the 2.4 liter red block engine and it’s a one owner Atlanta car, no rust! 253,000. Miles and runs great but I did have everything under the hood redone. I also have a 1993 Lincoln Town car with 73,000 miles on it. It’s in a local garage getting everything replaced! It’s been in the shop since November 2020. My partner also has a 2018 Kia Stinger GT2. Too much info but I just wanted to share. You are a great car reviewer with an untouchable dry wit and a folksy charm that will take you a long way in RUclips land! Thanks for letting us go along with you.
I typed up a huge comment to you and YT promptly lost it. :( So thank you for being here and sticking with me! Love your fleet of vehicles, and you're my type of car-person when you can walk outside and think "hmmm, sould we take the TOWN CAR or the Stinger?" HAHAHAHA! And I could hug you for the 'dry wit and folksy charm" comment. I may steal that quote :)
Great video. Fellow 2014 owner here. I love this car so much I'm going to keep as long as I can because I just don't think newer cars will give as good reliability and value. I agree road noise is loud in this car- I just put Michelin Pilot Sports from Costco on, never heard things so quiet. Give them a try! You covered the starter well, that is an absolute weak spot of this model but not a difficult fix. In the same category with this car is the cam chain tensioner (rattle noise on cold start) and ABS module failure (multiple warning lights on dash).
Since the video I had to replace the battery, and I can NOT get the air in my tires balanced enough to turn off the low tire pressure light. Other than that, it's been great. Thanks for the heads-up on those other items; I'll keep an eye (or ear) out for them. It's been a great car, so much so that when I ramble to my wife about getting a new car she doesn't say "no", but tells me I am NOT selling the Honda! :) Oh, and thanks about the tire suggestion. I just replaced mine last year so I have years to go, but I'll keep that in mind!
@@GoGators198 Thank you so much, and I'm completely embarrassed! I've had multiple patches done the past few years, and each time the tire pressure warning has just gone away. My previous car it went away after you got the pressures balanced correctly, as have several other cars I've seen. I've been frustratingly chasing getting the pressures in all 4 tires to match literally for weeks after having a patch put on. I had NO IDEA there was a magic button I could press to recalibrate. None. No clue. Apparently it's been pressed before during tire patches and wasn't this time, and i had no idea it didn't reset when the pressures were correct. You're a God-send today. My tires weren't losing pressure, all matched, and that friggin' light wouldn't go away! It was driving me NUTS! And I'm completely embarrassed I didn't know it was there; but I didn't know to look either! If I had a prize to give, I would sent it your way. (ps - is GoGators for the Florida Gators?)
I love your *enthusiasm*, John, and your honesty (e.g.in the above reply) - it's most refreshing. Great review... and a hope you've had the opportunity/time to do a couple more since this one.
Good review John, I’d say it went really well. Thank you for pointing out the design of the dash board and center console. At 6’4”, a lot of the cars with the “cockpit” designs can be pretty uncomfortable for me, with no place for my knees to go.
I drive à 2013 Touring standard. Cdn edition. I was on the market for a Subaru Impreza as a second car. This morning I got up said to myself nope I am buying a ‘Cord. Lo and behold your video pops up reinforced my decision. Ty for the video great job by the way. You are right it is the best used someone can drive. Cheers from Montreal.
Currently own one too! Have had it for almost a year. Really love the car and was really lucky to buy it before the prices of used cars went up lmaoo. Got it for $10k at 76k miles and I’ve seen similar models at 100k plus miles going for $15k-$16k
Similar story. I have a video from a couple of months ago here where my dealership is offering to buy my car back.... at almost exactly the same price I bought it from them 4 years ago. The prices are insanity.
@@AllCarswithJon yea for reals. My parents a 2019 Toyota RAV4 a year ago and 6 months and just a couple weeks ago as well they’ve been offering to buy the vehicle back for more than she bought it for
Thanks, hope it helped! Yes, I still own it and it's still one of my favorite cars. Oh, and if you didn't catch it, I recently uploaded a video showing the grocery bag space in the trunk if you're curious.
Happy New Year! And a great first review! Prior to my 2020 Accord, I owned a 2013 Sport in Crystal Black pearl with the 6-speed manual. I absolutely loved the looks..classy describes it perfectly. I actually preferred the height of this old model…the newer model is much lower which makes entry and exit a little more difficult. And I miss the feel of the naturally aspirated 2.4L engine. These have a great ride and handling….felt almost like a budget sports sedan. I traded mine to get more of the safety and infotainment features. As much as I enjoy the ‘20, there was something special about this generation and a big part of me misses it.
Almost exactly how I feel. If my Accord disappeared and I had to go buy a new one, it'd be a new Accord.... but they *feel* smaller to me and noticably lower. Excellent in all things, but this gen I have just strikes me as special.
I have a 2012 Accord Coupe V6, same generation. My advice is to avoid the V6 with its VCM issues. It took my engine out in November 2020 I replaced the engine and kept it. Love the way it looks and drives. I immediately bought a very low mile 2017 Coupe V6 while the '12 had the engine replaced. The 2017 is my 7th Honda in 30 years. Sadly, it's probably my last. I decided that Lexus is now "my speed". I decided that I want a much quieter, more plush ride and the ES350 suits me. I still have a muscle car and a sports car so, if I feel the need for speed, I have it. You did very very well! It's efficient smooth, and handles well. Blehhhh as far as the CVT is concerned though, lol. Have a fantastic 2022, your channel is growing and I know you will do well!
I really appreciate your kind words! Uploading my first review was anxiety-inducing! :) And I gotta say, I agree with you on what I'd love for my next car. I want a Maverick (I think) but if I was to buy another car the Lexus ES is right up there at the top.
Hey Guys I have a 2015 Accord v6 EX-L. Owned four 1/2 years now. I really enjoy sporty handling when I need it (holla). Great gas mileage with nice amenities. Problems: the starter it grinds and needs to be replaced. New tires this year (2023) and a battery replacement in (2020). Very low front end (don’t run over concrete parking barriers-it’s expensive to have your radiator replaced should you run over them). Overall I like this Accord 😊 Great review too❤
I own the 2014 v6 coupe version of this car. It is hands down the best car I have ever owned, and it is my 6th car. The car is simply anything you want it to be. It is a daily driver with its excellent economy, a sports car with its 280 hp, and a cruiser with it's sunroof, comfy leather seats and infotainment. To modernize the car, I installed an alpine after market stereo with a touch screen for the Apple Carplay feature. This makes it feel like an absolutely modern with no 2023 model having anything on it. I considered a trade in for a fancy new EV, but I just love the car too much to give it up even for the latest craze. I have had some issues with the starter, but it is an easy replacement and not expensive fix. That is the only problem I've had. The car has retained it's value really well, and is sought after in the used car market today.
I like my 2014 honda accord. Starter needed replacing. 109,000 miles on it. The engine light stays on and had two parts replaced and it's still went back on. It run just fine.
My dad has a 15 lx 2.4. He drives pretty fast and has damaged the body tremendously, even though he is the original owner. The car rides rough, has a lot of wind noise, a bit plasticy, but does everything very well and seems to be the last reliable accord I feel like. 92k miles still going great.
My sister and I both drive 9th gen Accords. Her's is a silver 2014 and mine is a white 2013. They also both happen to be the LX CVT just like yours! They have both held up exceptionally well over the years and are very reliable and enjoyable to drive. I really think Honda nailed it with this generation Accord! P.S. You mentioned you're not sure what the Econ button does. I am currently alternating between Econ on and Econ off to test Econ out. In my experience, Econ dulls the throttle response (just a little, not by much) and makes the car feel a little more sluggish. Also, as you mentioned, it weakens the A/C fan speed. As far as MPG, so far I am noticing little to no increase in fuel economy with Econ on vs. Econ off. Just my 2 cents and your experience may be different. Thank you for the review!
Thanks for the comment! I've done the same experiment with the Econ button and determined that I'll just leave it on most of the time, but during the hottest days of summer I turn it off so the fan can be a bit more effective. I've not noticed any real performance or MPG benefit or not.
Great first review. We are on our third Accord., the fourth if you count the 1998 Acura 3.0CL I leased for three years. 2003 Accord LX Sedan, turned in with around 225,000 miles for a 2017 CR-V AWD Touring 2010 Accord LX-P Sedan, turned in with around 215,000 miles for a 2021 Accord 2.0T Sport Sedan 2021 Accord 2.0T Sport which is my current daily driver, wife drives the CR-V The 21 (so far) is probably the 2nd best car I have ever owned. The 98 CL is absolutely the best car I have owned /leased and I probably should have kept that Instead of turning it in. Turned it in and leased a 2001 E46 BMW 330xi which will be probably go down as the 3rd best car I have had. Don’t get me wrong, the BMW was a fun car to drive and definitely makes a statement when you arrive in one but reliability was no near the regular Accords let alone the CL. Like you, all of our 4-cylinder Accords have gotten around 29 MPG in combined city / highway driving with mid 30s in pure highway travel The V6 powered CL was probably mid 20s combined and low 30s in pure highway travel.
Thanks for the kind words! Very surprising the CL was the #1 car for you... I don't know I've ever driven one but as I recall it would have been based on the first Accord I had (and it was exceptional)
@@AllCarswithJon It is a very under-appreciated car. Biggest problem was that it was the “replacement” for the Legend Coupe and that is a hard act to follow. 3 years and it only visited the dealer for routine maintenance. Had a “decent” Bose sound system. Nice interior. The 3.0L V6 would go like hell. A very nice personal luxury coupe. The 2nd generation just didn’t look as nice to me and that is how I ended up with the 330xi.
We are also big fans of the accord in SouthAfrica - wee had both the euro and us spec (most preferred the euro spec). I have the US spec one and also own a 3rd gen crv and a civic. Best Honda I’ve owned so far!
Good review John. The LX and Sport models are also my picks because it has a more simple audio system and doesn't have the complicated dual screen infotainment system that the higher trim levels have. The infotainment system on the 2018-up Accord is a much more better system in my opinion.
Thanks! I agree, I didn't love Hondas experiemnt with the dual screen system. The one in this accord is adequate - it's a bit fussy to connect to bluetooth, it's very basic, but it does exactly what I need. I am craving a car with Apple carplay, and it's amazing to see how an infortainment system only 7 or 8 years old feels like the stone age now.
I know everyone likes to bash CVT transmissions but the ones on the Honda's are actually one of the best out there. I have a 2020 Honda CR-V and the CVT feels fine for me.
Completely agree. I know auto journalists love, LOVE to hate on CVTs, but the best ones fade away where you never notice them.....and this Accord does just that. If I was taking it to a track I'd feel different, but for an everyday car, it's more than adequate.
I ran the 07 Taurus I had until the body rusted out at 165 K miles and it still ran it like a top when I traded it on the 14 Cherokee I currently drive.
Also, the Toyota Camry is a good car. Camry is a little more boring, but the new model is more stylish. Toyota engineers have figured out how to make their cars quieter.
I have a high opinion of the Camry and feel the decision for most people between the Accord or Camry is down to taste and preferences. While Toyota has always made the Camry quieter, the Accord feels lighter and slightly more 'sporty'... or at least nimble.
Great video you did an excellent job of presenting the features of the car and showing your likes and dislikes. It’s hard to pick on Accords and Camrys for their overall quality extending over the last 3 decades. I have owned an Accord from the early 90s and a Camry from the early 2000s. They both were more than reliable and excellent to drive. Today I would probably go with a Camry if I would have to choose. I do prefer a SUV over a standard car because of having a higher driver platform as well as the additional cargo room. I look forward to seeing more car reviews from you in the future. Have a Happy New Year 🍾
Good honest review. I like the way you describe something as, if you're not thinking about it, then it's made almost perfectly. I think your reviews will be great if you just do your own thing. Don't worry about trying to emulate the style of other famous RUclips channels. Happy New Year!
Yeah! THANK YOU! I mean, first-world problems but if I need gas I don't want to have to walk ALL the way around the trunk! :) Oh, just FYI I have a different opinion on EVs - I think the charging port should be on the passenger side, so that when you park parallel on the street at a charger (in the future) it'll be on that side.
Great review. I’ve driven this model and although I like it it seemed like a step back from the prior generations interior wise. We had a 7th generation and the 8th and 9th seemed to bring lower quality plastics and to have lost the vault like feel inside and in its place came more road noise. Still great cars but just didn’t live up to our expectation of that 7th generation. We have owned lots of Hondas and the blue tooth or using a cord especially using android auto and apple car play is inconsistent and glitchy, it’s a shame and frustrating. You were right on point with your critiques, great work!
I apprecaite that. I'm really trying to find a previous generation to drive to compare. I don't recall loving or hating the interior (typical Honda I guess) but it's been years since I drove one briefly.... the only impression it made was it felt "large".... in a Buick-like way. Really want to revisit that generation.
Excellent start to reviewing cars. I certainly look forward to more. I agree, the horror stories about the early Jatco CVTs Nissan used(/still uses?) certainly colored my opinions about CVTs, but my mechanic friends say they aren't horrible now, but you do need to religiously service them. I am very intrigued by the electric motor and planetary gear CVT setup modern hybrids use, but have no clue yet as to how durable they are. My last two vehicles both lasted well over 200,000 miles and my present 2010 CR-V is at 180,000 (it will be Jr. Minion's first car when he gets his driver's license). Perhaps a future review of yours will give me some ideas for my next vehicle? That's at least a year out, maybe more, depending upon when the market decides to come back down to Earth.
Thanks for the kind words, and I love the phrase "Jr. Minion"! :) While I too am hesitant about Jatco CVTs, I was specifically referring to the (especially early) CVTs tendancy to moan and groan, and point out the one in the Accord is largely unnoticed.
@@AllCarswithJon Fair point re: early CVTs, I simply tend to think in terms of reliability/longevity above all. I have two minions, an elder one who does not drive and the junior one, who is only excited about driving on odd days when the moon is waxing (teenagers...)
I own a 14 Accord LX (base model) with the 6 speed manual. Bought it new, 210,000 miles. I'm keeping it until I can't drive. The 6 speed is great. I didn't think the noise is bad, but I buy expensive tires which help.
I have (my wife’s car) a 2014 Honda Accord Sport, same color and I agree with all you say about it. I will say that I drive to work in a Mazda 3. Love it. Will you review it?
My mom had a 2017 Accord EX 2.4L in Modern Steel Metallic with the Gray cloth interior and the only complaint we got out of that car was the seats. Other than that the car was great, spacious, a little peppy and had an okay user interface.
@@AllCarswithJon So my mom was the main person who found the seats a complaint because of the firmness but me, as a backseat passenger I found the rear seats alright. Although whenever I sat in the front they were a tad too much firm.
Hello guys i have a Honda accord exl 2014 here in Lebanon in the middle east, its imported from usa a year ago When i bought the car it was 107k miles now its 115k miles I had a problem with a crank sensor the car didnt start at all, i bought the crank sensor from Honda dealer ship in Beirut , it cost 88$ the original one made in japan I installed it in my friends garage and gave him only 5$ the car started and everything is ok Here in lebanon car parts and car repair parts are cheaper then the united states! I changed the oil and i put 0w20 liqui moly fully syntethic made in germany, i put 4.5 litrs! i drove 1000 miles only and the oil level on the dipstick is very low Its below the minimum What does that mean guys? Please someone answer My engine sounds good and runs good and there is no oil leaks! What should i do?😢
You will notice the difference between economic and non economic while the cruse control is on with slower acceleration with it on. After you break and touch the resume it will speed back up slower than with it off.
I'm thinking about getting one.. I think they are really cool looking, and all the research I've been doing most concur with you. Curious, Do you still own this car? and if not, would you still recommend?
I absolutely still own this car! And I still feel as strongly (if not more-so) that it's possibly the best used car you can buy. My complaints are really nick-picky. Depending on what you're wanting in a car, drive one first of course. Truly I love it 99%, but once in a while I wish it was quieter. Just a touch quieter. Other than that, it's been great. Good luck with your search!
Funny you say this. I really want a Maverick, but also really want to keep my Accord.... like forever. Last week my wife and I were talking and I said something about how much I can get for my Accord if I trade it in and what the price of the maverick and the payment would be (blahblahblah)..... she stopped what she was doing, looked at me, and said "we're not getting rid of that car." We've BOTH regretted the Hondas in the past we've gotten rid of and she wants to keep this. YAY!
I love this exact car in this exact color...if I ever find a decent one for not a crazy amount of money (it's surprising what 10 year old Hondas go for these days), I'll likely buy one. I love the aesthetics and it just looks clean to me. Hands down better-looking than the next generation one IMHO. But, I won't pay what is generally the asking price for one of these bad boys these days.
I have a 2013 Accord EX which I bought used in 2017 w/ 20k mi. It just hit 105k mi. Although really reliable, I still am not a fan of the CVT and very much miss my old 2002 Accord EX with the conventional automatic transmission. Both achieve the same MPG. I really hate that Honda slaps CVTs in everything and now they're going from naturally aspirated engines to turbo. This will be the last Honda I own. I wouldn't turn down an older Honda that has NA engine and conventional A/T but it's rare to see a used one in good shape. May have to switch to Mazda from now on.
google 2013 Accord Sport and Car and Driver to get the review published OCT 18, 2012 - the Accord Sport model w/ dual exhausts and 6sp manual is the one to get w/ more horsepower and torque - 0-60 in 6.6 and better hwy mileage than the cvt - problem is that the 6sp is rare and demand makes it more expensive but it's a Honda manual so it will perform and last forever
Ford has discontinued the Fusion as they've given up on sedans, which I think is a mistake. The American brands are focused on SUVs and Trucks, so they've discontinued smaller cars and sedans
So the P indicator on the dash I know it indicate as Park but what happens when it repeatedly flashes is there a solution to fix that problem. I have a 2013 Accord sport.
I did a google search and found a couple of videos on it. Oddly it doesn't seem to always show up on an OBD scanner. one guy had to replace a couple of sensors. Another the dealership couldn't figure it out and he traded it in. :(
@AllCarswithJon hmm the question is I had that problem for 5 months and the car runs fine with that problem I just hope doesn't break down on me on the highway or anything real skeptical about the dealership they be charging an arm and a leg for something minor I'm hoping it is!
There is a manual trunk opener on the floor, left of the driver seat. The same lever pops the gas flap if you push it down, pops the trunk if you pull it up.
I agree. I struggled on how to describe my admittedly biased opinion of the looks. I settled on 'classy but not classic', but even then I think the styling has aged very well.
It almost was for me, but I almost never take anyone in my rear seat (our kids were aging up at this point) and for the price difference to an EX it just wasn't worth it.
Because you fail to mention the mechanical and electrical issues, particularly in the starting system of this generation, I consider you have not done a thorough review, at all.
Great review! I agree with @suzaku3573 below, If you didn't mention that this was your first review, folks would not have noticed. You did a great job! I currently have a 2017 Honda Accord V6 Touring, which I really love. I wanted to get the last V6 Honda Accord model available, "no regrets". When it was time to purchase a car for my youngest son, I had two main concerns: 1) safety and 2) reliability, so I gave him a choice between a Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord, (both great vehicles). He chose the Honda Accord, 2013 LX model. I was very impressed with the 2013 Accord, it does everything well, safety, reliability, ride quality, comfort, features etc. no issues at all. As you mentioned, most folks would never know that the car has a CVT transmission if they were not told. I found no issues at all. The transmission in the 2013 Accord 4 cylinder works smoothly and flawlessly in my experience. Of course it's not a sports car, but the handling and performance does give it a bit of a sporty feel. I look forward to many years of good performance and would recommend the 9th generation Honda Accord to anyone looking for a reliable used vehicle. Take care! 👍🏼
My FIRST car review! After years of considering and months of anxiety-inducing waffling on whether to make the leap or not, it's here! Please let me know what you think, and any positive criticiism is apprecaited!

I think more walkaround exterior shots would add to your excellent presentation and filming of the interior
@@tbeau6663 Thanks for the feedback. This was the first one I'd ever done, so it's "rough". :)
My teenager children bought a Honda Accord 2013 last November. The car drives nice and they are happy with this car.
This 2014 Honda Accord with the 2.4 L four-cylinder engine is one of best vehicles in the used market.
I got the holy grail. 1994 grand marquis ls, 70k miles. Minty. Just starting to rust in the dogleg. Ny winters eill do that.
Agreed.
No, the 3.5L....4 banger is too slow
How is the reliability of the CVTs? Because if I were looking for an Accord, that might make me go for the previous generation with its 5 speed automatic transmission, as it's a generally more trusted transmission.
@@Glibzer they have terrible automatic transmissions - ask any policeman - and they get really lousy mpg
My 2014 Accord had 218,000 miles. No squeaks, rattles, handles beautifully.

That is the car that I have.
you will have it, your literally half way there.

I drive a 08 Accord. Hondas are the best 💯
Oh, and thanks about the tire suggestion. I just replaced mine last year so I have years to go, but I'll keep that in mind!
@@AllCarswithJonAbout your tire pressure- are you checking each tire with a gauge and then hitting the calibration button while parked?
Thanks! 👍
Thanks for sharing!
My son is test driving a 2014 Honda Accord right now. Potentially his first car 134 000 km. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the comment and good luck to him!
My parents a 2019 Toyota RAV4 a year ago and 6 months and just a couple weeks ago as well they’ve been offering to buy the vehicle back for more than she bought it for
love the review , definitely looking at this car to upgrade from my 07 accord
Hey Guys
I have a 2015 Accord v6 EX-L.
Overall I like this Accord 😊
Great review too❤
get a mechanic or use a tuner to disable the vcm module
This was great 👌🏾Informative, entertaining, and thorough
I appreciate that!
I love your enthusiasm!
Thanks!
Great comment, thanks!
I had the 'starter issue' too. Replaced, and the only thing wrong with the car so far!
2003 Accord LX Sedan, turned in with around 225,000 miles for a 2017 CR-V AWD Touring
2010 Accord LX-P Sedan, turned in with around 215,000 miles for a 2021 Accord 2.0T Sport Sedan
2021 Accord 2.0T Sport which is my current daily driver, wife drives the CR-V
The 21 (so far) is probably the 2nd best car I have ever owned.
I have a 2012 lx. Looking at the newer interior makes mine feel like a classic!
We are also big fans of the accord in SouthAfrica - wee had both the euro and us spec (most preferred the euro spec). I have the US spec one and also own a 3rd gen crv and a civic. Best Honda I’ve owned so far!
Great to hear from you in S.A.!! Thanks for the comment!
Have a Happy New Year 🍾
Thanks! Happy New Year!
Good honest review. I like the way you describe something as, if you're not thinking about it, then it's made almost perfectly. I think your reviews will be great if you just do your own thing. Don't worry about trying to emulate the style of other famous RUclips channels. Happy New Year!
I appreciate that! Truly. You have no idea how anxious I was to upload this!
Gas cap on the drivers side! Where god intended it to be. Classic! So true!
Yeah! THANK YOU! I mean, first-world problems but if I need gas I don't want to have to walk ALL the way around the trunk! :)
Oh, just FYI I have a different opinion on EVs - I think the charging port should be on the passenger side, so that when you park parallel on the street at a charger (in the future) it'll be on that side.
You re great! Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
The J35 V6 blows away your 7th gen dog. Interior is just fine
I have the 13. I just got it a couple months ago.
Cool review, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I have a 2013 same color and same base trim!
Minion"! :)
While I too am hesitant about Jatco CVTs, I was specifically referring to the (especially early) CVTs tendancy to moan and groan, and point out the one in the Accord is largely unnoticed.
Well, Honda's aren't known for focusing on noise reduction (in the past) so the Accord was always noiser than the Camry, for example.
I bought one at 140k should I change the transmission fluid?
Great review, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I think this is the best looking generation.
I agree! But I like multiple generations of the Accord, including the new ones
I have (my wife’s car) a 2014 Honda Accord Sport, same color and I agree with all you say about it. I will say that I drive to work in a Mazda 3. Love it. Will you review it?
what do you know about the coupe model for the same year/ I hope you showed the trunk space?
My mom had a 2017 Accord EX 2.4L in Modern Steel Metallic with the Gray cloth interior and the only complaint we got out of that car was the seats. Other than that the car was great, spacious, a little peppy and had an okay user interface.
Mind if I ask what about the seats were a complaint? Personally I find they may be a *touch* firm, but they're large, well shaped, and supportative.
@@AllCarswithJon So my mom was the main person who found the seats a complaint because of the firmness but me, as a backseat passenger I found the rear seats alright. Although whenever I sat in the front they were a tad too much firm.
But overall, I can totally go on 1-3 hour road-trips with no huge issues
My Taurus was the same color of your Accord too...
Watching your test drive i realized those roads and surroundings look awfully familiar. I drive around Potter Rd and Chestnut Lane everyday.
Yep, I'm right around the corner from there. :)
Hello guys i have a Honda accord exl 2014 here in Lebanon in the middle east, its imported from usa a year ago
When i bought the car it was 107k miles now its 115k miles
I had a problem with a crank sensor the car didnt start at all, i bought the crank sensor from Honda dealer ship in Beirut , it cost 88$ the original one made in japan
I installed it in my friends garage and gave him only 5$ the car started and everything is ok
Here in lebanon car parts and car repair parts are cheaper then the united states!
I changed the oil and i put 0w20 liqui moly fully syntethic made in germany, i put 4.5 litrs! i drove 1000 miles only and the oil level on the dipstick is very low
Its below the minimum
What does that mean guys?
Please someone answer
My engine sounds good and runs good and there is no oil leaks!
What should i do?😢
You forgot the "Jon-Score"... ;-) Happy new year to You!
Happy new year! Lol... I think if I did a Jon-Score that people *might* think I'm copying *someone* :)
Great video. Love your car.
Thanks!
You will notice the difference between economic and non economic while the cruse control is on with slower acceleration with it on. After you break and touch the resume it will speed back up slower than with it off.
Mostly I hear it in the blower fan for the HVAC, and I never use the cruise control so I've not noticed that! :)
Great reviewer voice!
No need to upgrade anytime soon, this car will still be fine in 5 years from now.
Especially with the shortage of new cars now, it is best to keep your current car for now. That generation Accord is definitely a keeper.
YAY!
2014 was before Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I don't like how it is set back on that Honda, but it looks easy to use and has what you need
Being set back like that is ugly at first, but that also prevents any glare on the screen so it's always been easy to see!
About the same amount of miles as my Cherokee right now (57 K)..
google 2013 Accord Sport and Car and Driver to get the review published OCT 18, 2012 - the Accord Sport model w/ dual exhausts and 6sp manual is the one to get w/ more horsepower and torque - 0-60 in 6.6 and better hwy mileage than the cvt - problem is that the 6sp is rare and demand makes it more expensive but it's a Honda manual so it will perform and last forever
Ford has discontinued the Fusion as they've given up on sedans, which I think is a mistake. The American brands are focused on SUVs and Trucks, so they've discontinued smaller cars and sedans
Love it! If they are in my back seat they shouldn't be complaining...lol
My '04 LX 2.4 just turned 100k.
The only thing i don't like. How do you open the trunk without the key or from the inside?
There is a manual trunk opener on the floor, left of the driver seat. The same lever pops the gas flap if you push it down, pops the trunk if you pull it up.
I really hate the feeling of CVT transmissions. Feels like a slipping clutch
They are identical!
How much did you paid for the car ?
Just a touch over $15k
OH! Happy New Years!
Happy new year!
What about 2013
That ws the year it was redesigned (as I recall!) so much the same opinions.
How many miles on this one?

@@AllCarswithJon 75,300???
@@AllCarswithJon I have a 2010 with 111K LX-P. Which one you like better?
@@willieswift9580 no that's the timestamp for where in the video I show the mileage at the time I recorded the video.
@@willieswift9580 I like this 2014 better. :) Half the miles and I'm a big fan of this body style
The car still looks good evan tho it's 7 or 8 years old.
I agree. I struggled on how to describe my admittedly biased opinion of the looks. I settled on 'classy but not classic', but even then I think the styling has aged very well.
What are your mpgs?
If I do ONLY very local driving, about 17-20mpg. On the Highway I get about 38.
No rear AC / heat vents is a deal breaker
It almost was for me, but I almost never take anyone in my rear seat (our kids were aging up at this point) and for the price difference to an EX it just wasn't worth it.
I feel it is too expensive for my taste.
epa rates this car as a large car by interior volume - bigger inside than the then Impala
Eco means you are driving eco friendly
Is that Doug??
No. Sadly.
Just a guy doing his first auto review. :)
What's the price range
6th gen 8th or 9th gen. End of story
I could do without that CVT
I tried to stress... it's really not a concern. :) (for me)
5'10" in a good day?!?😂😂😂❤
Navy Veteran? That explains it!
I'm not exactly sure what you're implying here, but I'm not a Navy Vet. My two step-sons are active-duty right now though.
Because you fail to mention the mechanical and electrical issues, particularly in the starting system of this generation, I consider you have not done a thorough review, at all.
He did mention the starter issues, and he had to replace the starter. Other than that, he has had no issues with his car.
UMMMMMMMMMMMM 2014 SUCKS 2016 MAN
Great review! Take care! 👍🏼
Thanks for the kind words and for the visit.
As for your son - good for him to choose the Accord!
