Hey, good overall review my man. I am a Honda Accord enthusiast and have owned several over the years, my first being at 1981 Accord sedan. It was a decent car but had transmission and head gasket issues. Honda has come a long way since then. My daily driver is a 2017 Accord V6 Touring, I really wanted the last V6 Honda offered and I love the power, ride quality and features. Not really sure why you seem to be disappointed with the 9th gen CVT. I just bought my son a 2013 Accord LX, 4 cyl, CVT and it seems to have great acceleration for it's size, no issues at all when passing on the highway, and of course great gas mileage. Of course it's not a high performance vehicle, but it's not designed to be. I would highly recommend a 4-cylinder Accord with CVT to anyone! As a side note, I think most folks would agree that car reviews are much better when the vehicle is clean inside and out. The vehicle does not need to be show car detailed, but it is nice to see a vehicle without the owners personal items left inside, dirty motor etc. Thanks again.😀✌🏼
I think the 2015-2017 Accord gets an Alunmium hood. just a small thing that not that many know. Also, Honda still put Truck Lock make it a little bit more theft safe.
Great review! I’m considering a 2015 accord sport. I’m a little hesitant because of the CVT transmission. It’s going for 9,000 with 100k miles. Should I just send it?
9th gen won't fail you, should get 250 k. The 2.4 and 2.0 are good cars, when they got into 1.5 there's issues with blown head gaskets because of bad design

Cheers from Montreal.
😂 I was about to come to the cb7 defense and you brought it up. I love that the accord grille shape has remained the same. I think another generation did it better than this one. More stately and sleek without being Cadillac gaudy and over the top chiseled
I bought a '95 Accord 5-speed brand new and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. Lost interest in Accords as they changed over the years. They were exciting in the early/mid 90s but became boring after that.
Honda as a whole has become very boring. I was hoping with the refreshed popularity and interest in cars like the Mazda Miata and Subaru BRZ (Toyota 86), honda would throw the s2000 back in the ring. Perhaps maybe a reintroduction of the Honda prelude as a sportier option when compared to the accord and civic. Sadly Honda isn’t that interesting anymore.
The seats in the 8th gen are bad as well. My coworker at the time had a base model 9th gen, and the seats were so much more comfortable than mine (8th gen) he sat in my car and went dude. What the hell wrong with your seats 😆. I had a base model as well
160MPH speedometer is optimistic. I hate when cars have overly optimistic speedometers because half of it is wasted on a daily basis. I'd rather have it go up to 100 or even 85 to offer more resolution for daily speeds. Plus, no Accord is going to hit 160.
The reason the speedometer goes to 160 is so 80 is at the top. It’s for better readability of speeds you will actually drive at. Cause anything after you would be reading the right side of the gauge. Why not stop at 120? So that it remains symmetrical
Im the owner of the accord shown in the video, I’m hoping for this car to be the test of that. I’m really hoping zack will consider doing a follow up video once the car passes the 200k mark. Rn the car has almost passed 130k on its journey to 200k. Those past 130k miles have not been nice miles, check the fuel economy shown in the video, this car is routinely driven hard.
As the owner of the accord shown in the video I have to ask “in what ways?” The engine itself has been pretty bullet proof, it’s everything else around the engine that has had problems. As mentioned in the video only the electronic throttle body has been replaced

I honestly can’t believe this is a 9 year old car, I remember seeing the commercials for it with the father and where daughter being all rude and he was watching her in the camera.
Can confirm best car ever owned. Best everyday driver around . 207k miles. Alternator @ 90k, starter @ 160k. Brakes and fluids. So good can't even say it enough.
Have a 2014 Toyota Camry with 180,000 miles, original transmission, alternator, starter and engine
@@TacoCat8891 I'm at 255k now. Same deal
The camera trick is not for towing it’s for watching me gap my friends 😅
just got a 2014 accord lx-s cvt coupe, very nice
I think the 7th Gen was the peak. This coming as I sold my 2006 for a 2015. Yes the 2015 is a V6 coupe 6 speed and obviously feels great.. but there's a few things Honda cheeped out on compared to the 7th.
I got the 2015 with the v6 and 6 speed auto in that exact color
Starter @160K, Headlights and sun shade @ 170K ,Spark plugs and Coil covers @ 190K. Just oil and maintenance. Great car
i have a 2013 sport with the rare 6 speed in the sedan id love for u to review it
You should totally go for it, I submitted this car for review. Zack is an awesome dude. If you live in the Chicago land area give it a shot
Nice review! I agree with everything you said..reliable and good looking car! The looks is kind of like a modernized 1998 model, which I like. I daily drive one of these in the base model LX 6 speed manual and no complaints..except that the engine is GDI.
What the?? The LX/Sport with the manual’s has a gasoline direct injection engine? I’m shocked
Really? I always thought the K engines were port injection.
Same, I always thought that it looked like a modern 6th gen Accord (the 1998 model you're referring to) when this gen came out lol
@@wigletron2846 nah, the accord sadly got GDI in 2012
@@wigletron2846 9th generation Accords and anything with an "Earth Dreams" moniker is GDI. K series before the 9th gen were port injected. The K20C1 in the FK8 and FL5 CTR is also GDI.
2014 was before radar or adaptive cruise control became a standard safety feature
I don't like that stuff
Toyota doesn't have blind camera. I think it should be part of the safety sense package that most manufactures offer
I have the V6, only way to go..put an inline transmission filter on it and trans is fine
Now do the Accord Sport w/ 6 sp manual w/ dual exhausts. 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and over 43 mpg on the hwy giving it over 600 miles of range.
My mom got a sport same year she loves it I didn’t know they have a cvt 🤦♂️
I own a beautiful 2014 Honda Accord V-6 with all the bells and whistles like a luxury vehicle ❤️
I have the 4 cylinder how reliable would you say your v6 is ?
@@chief2gloves222 Very reliable! Pushing 200,000 miles and still running smoothly 😉
Great choice. They are impossible to find in Canada.
Great video man.. not sure if you did the 2017 accord sport before ,but I’ll like to see that as well
This is the best gen Accord IMO. I've always been much more of a Toyota guy, had a 2015 Camry XSE V6 for over three years, but would gladly buy this gen over the ugly ones that came after.
No this aint the best generation..coz they ditched the double wishbone and really hard to get V6 with manual
Agree. Double wishbone suspension is underrated.
I think that’s a 2014 Honda accord problem because I had a throttle body issue with mine as well
I'm far more partial to the pop-up headlight Accords, but...
I have a 2014 Acord Sport and it has been great so far, but the when the AC is on it makes a sound or movement that is noticeable. I owned a 1990 civic and it did the same. Does anyone else have the same problem with their Hondas?
The pair of cupholders look like the Nvidia 30 and 40 series FE GPUs
Great Video
What model is this?
Sir, thank you for the review. I own a ‘13 Touring MT white 64000kms. Cdn edition. Never driven during the winter. Nothing to regret so far. Engine is so easy to maintain the only maintenance I’ve done was to upgrade the battery. Very comfy. No Accords beat the 9th gen. A CVT I would not touch it even though they are installed in almost every cars nowadays.as well I find too much plastic inside the car. Well Honda had to cut costs somewhere. Excellent review . Cheers from Montreal.
I’m having a bad experience with the Gear system 😢😢😢
I would daily the shit outta this car.
This car is my next car I want for me.
How much hp
185
Good to know the seats are comfy, 7th gen cloth is awful
The seats in the 8th gen are bad as well. My coworker at the time had a base model 9th gen, and the seats were so much more comfortable than mine (8th gen) he sat in my car and went dude. What the hell wrong with your seats 😆. I had a base model as well
My 7th gen leather seats were so comfy tho…. and this is coming from a current 10th gen owner
🔥🔥
I had six Hondas.....so you might say I'm biased!!
160MPH speedometer is optimistic. I hate when cars have overly optimistic speedometers because half of it is wasted on a daily basis. I'd rather have it go up to 100 or even 85 to offer more resolution for daily speeds. Plus, no Accord is going to hit 160.
Stock accords hit about 130mph with a limiter... I guess with a couple small mods and limiter removal it would easily reach 160
The reason the speedometer goes to 160 is so 80 is at the top. It’s for better readability of speeds you will actually drive at. Cause anything after you would be reading the right side of the gauge. Why not stop at 120? So that it remains symmetrical
I've seen my 4cyl accord hit 110 without breaking a sweat. An ungoverned V6 Sport could totally make a 160mph gauge worthwhile.
Wow 👍
The beat gen un Accord's Is the 8th gen 2.4 L. No CVT, No GDI, yes NA, yes timing CHAIN.
Far from the best gen Accord. The best were the Accord Type R 99 - 02, Accord Euro R/CL7/CL9, and most recently the Accord Sport 2.0T. C'mon man.
They live or die by the cvt, well the latter.
Those earth dreams 2.4l engines are not as reliable as the previous k24 engines.
As the owner of the accord shown in the video I have to ask “in what ways?” The engine itself has been pretty bullet proof, it’s everything else around the engine that has had problems. As mentioned in the video only the electronic throttle body has been replaced
the engine is now direct injected and cvt, so no way best Accord.
This the best? Absolutely not.
The 1990-1993 CB7 Accord is the best Accord.
Probably won't ever be beaten.
