Bought a 2016 EX-L V6 brand new in April 2016. I'm at 99k miles and I still love it. I've kept up with all the factory recommended service, and already did the 105k service ($$$). It had a leaky oil pump, which was covered by an extended warranty, and got new headlights under factory warranty, but otherwise still perfect. I drive relatively hard, and still average over 27mpg combined, and over 35mpg when highway driving.. Still live this car, and looks sharp

I have a 2013 accord lx with 239k, it has an issue when the ac is on, it puts a load on the engine. When it’s off it runs normal. Not sure what’s wrong
I drove a 2002 EX sedan for years and bought a newer 2013 EX sedan back in 2017 and gave my daughter the 2002. Sold the 02 early last year and replaced it with another 2013 EX sedan. My daughter and I both love our newer models but I seriously miss the 02. It had 194k miles and needed a lot of work (rack and pinion, catalytic converter, was leaking oil and needed new left upper control arm). I agree that it drove better than the newer models. Seriously regret selling that car. I still see it on the road from.time to time. The new owner is a mechanic and lives close. Apparently he loves it as much as I did.
Coming from a 2008 Accord it’s a night and day difference when comparing to my 2015. The first thing I noticed with the 15 was the solid feel of the car. It has like a heavy(not in bad way) feeling that you would feel in a German car, where as the 08 felt kind of loose and vibrates at high speed just not built as sturdy and after 110k miles on the 2015 it still feels as solid. If there’s one thing I regret it’s getting the cvt however you’re right about the gas mileage. I’ve only replaced one part on my newer accord called the tensioner pulley which is nutritious for a bearing going bad at 100k. It was 100$ fix and back to perfect. Also the tech in the higher trims is amazing. I love my keyless entry moonroof and lane camera .very nice review bud keep it up👍🏻
Just bought a 2014 Accord Sport as my daily. Crashed my Acura TL and got it totaled. So picked up this accord now and honestly love the car. Didn’t expect it to be as nice as it is. For a daily it’s perfect. Couldn’t really drive my C7 corvette around as a daily for commuting to work due to the gas alone being insane and uncomfortable. Appreciate what Honda offers!
Accords are bumpy but they will last a long time. Mine was a little over 200k in ten years before I sold it. It was running as a champ. If you are under budget, Accord is the best vehicle you can get. It's a reliable vehicle!
@@Striker50_ excessive vibration (even more than what these 4cylinders normally give off), cam chain tensioner needing replacement due to a loud rattle cold start, blend door actuator giving out causing center vents to blow warmer air, ongoing alignment issues for the wheels, a/c fan not kicking in during the hot Texas summers...these are just a handful of issues I’ve come across.
@@jmc224 Sounds like a lemon or something Got 122k on my 2013, just had a starter, wheel bearing, tensioner pulley, and cam sensor considering I used it for Ride share so a ton of stop and go but it's running strong after each repair and super easy to work on
I own a 2015 Accord Sedan Sport. Big upgrade on handing, comfort and noise when I replaced the Goodyear Eagle's that came with the vehicle with Continental PureContact LS tires (235/45R18). Great Video! Thanks!
I got new goodyear eagles on mine at around 60k. They were super quiet and smooth when i first got them. They started getting noisy after about 5k miles. I thought it was a bad wheel bearing.
I currently drive a 2011 EX-L V6 and I love it!! It's very sporty and fast lol ...Recently driven my friend's 2015 Accord EX (4 cyl.) and I was surprised at how smooth it drove.
Thank You! Yes a review for us common folk! ( ha ) I had a 2015 Honda Accord Touring. I so miss that car. I traded it at 40,000 miles. It was perfect! Only ding I would give it was that it was not good in the snow here in Minnesota. I now drive an Acura RDX
I totaly agree. Most reviews should be cars that the average person of average income can afford. That's the reason I don't bother with car reviews. Don't want to waste a click.
I’m gonna have to say the excessive tire noise is because of those good year tires that’s on the car right now. There’s a huge difference if you swap for some continentals or Michelin’s I currently swapped to good year Eagle LS2 from Michelin’s primacy MXM4(factory wheels) while the mechanical grip is better, the highway tire noise is borderline unbearable
Yes definitely tires make a big difference Continentals are very quiet and offer a lot of grip all year round depending on which model you get. What year Honda do you have?
I would agree, Michelin seems to be excellent. I have a 2017 CR-V and just swapped out the junky, OEM Hankook tires Honda puts on that model by default for a new set of Michelin Defenders. It's made a big difference - ride quality is improved, cabin noise while in motion is reduced, and even the steering is more fluid. I would absolutely recommend if the driver can take the ~$1,000 hit. The CR-V rides like it was truly meant to now.
My michillens on my 13 accord aren't much louder than the new 22 hyundai I just bought. It's still an amazing car. With good tires, it has fantastic cornering for a family car that offers the most space for mid size sedans of this year.
@@securipro8641 I have a set of Michelin CrossClimate2’s on my ‘17 Civic EX. Much quieter than the Hankook tires that came from the factory. The Michelin’s have more of a humming sound at highway speeds, and it’s tracking pattern does great in the snow. A little sacrifice on mpg, but worth it for safety during winter conditions. 😊
I currently own a 2014 Honda Accord Sport model with CVT transmission and 18 inch wheels. Excellent car, no repairs, just normal maintenance at 62k miles. I keep hearing bad stories about CVT transmissions, but so far this one has been perfect!
i got the same model and year like yours. Dont worry about the cvt transmission. if you have a nissan then worry.lol I'm at 195k miles and I got it at 27k. Same engine and transmission. Just follow the maintenance minders and you'll be fine.
Very nice yea that's a good year I would love to hear your thoughts if you drove a 2013 and up when they made the changes to see if it is for the better or for worse
I can confirm this Accord does have a lot of road noise. I have a 2019 Hyundai Elantra and lemme tell you, the Elantra is a quiet car. We have a 2014 Accord in the family and it is definitely more noisy than the Hyundai. Still, the Accord is a great car and that's why we keep it!
My 2013 EXL has a lot of issues. I’ve probably dealt with more issues with this model than I did with my 2005 PT Cruiser (at the time of ownership that is). My Cruiser lasted for about 10 years before it caught on fire on me. The Accord on the other hand, shows more issues at 8 years old. I’ll give it that the 4 cylinder Hondas have had issues with the idle vibrations, but my specific Accord seems to be using one of those new hand held massagers under the hood. I’ve tried everything to see what may be causing such vibrations, but nothing seems to help. Valve cover gasket leaks crazy oil. Cam chain tensioner is gone to shit as it always gives off a rattle noise when cold starting first thing in the morning. Suspension suck and I didn’t know it was that bad until I rode in the back with my toddler, while my wife drove. Poor wifey was riding bumpy from Houston to Dallas for two years back there. The dual radiator and AC fans are OK. The AC fan does have a mind of it’s own as it just quits in the middle of 100 plus degree weather here in TX. Blend door actuator has burnt out and makes a clicking noise under the center console. Center vents blow warm air unless you got that temp set to the lowest possible with AC. I could go on. This car is easy enough to work on, however. If it weren’t for that, I probably would have spent thousands at the shop or dealership. Everything listed above was repaired by yours truly; well, almost everything. One upgrade I would definitely recommend is changing the battery to a bigger one. The slim one that comes with it, suuuuuuuucks.
How about engine and transmission mounts did you tried those? My 2014 EXL V6 was doing the same thing there are a total of 5 mounts in between transmission and engine.
@@diego0o7 I was looking at doing those as well. But with the car being paid off, having accrued about 140k miles on the car, and looking into buying a new car as our family is expanding…I decided not to put any additional money into the car.
My Dad has a 2013 Accord LX 75k miles no problems most he had was a new starter at like 50k miles other than that regular oil changes and stuff like that and I personally like the 9th generation accord especially 2016-2017 better than the 10th generation accord.
I have 2014 EXL with 75000 miles one year owned so far. I bought it certified used at the time 39000 miles still have factory warranty until 100000. Love it so far. Will probably up grade in a few years to a 2020. V6 next time though.
1. Don't bother putting a quieter tire on the Accord. It will still be a noisy car. Been there, done that with Goodyear Assurance Comfortred. Quiet cars are born, not made. 2. On the other hand, I put Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on my 2010 Accord, and the handling became unbelievably good, as good as a BMW 440i or a Genesis G70 through tight turns. Good tires will turn a wallowing family sedan into an excellent-handling sports sedan.
Good years are trash for the most part a set of Continental Extreme Contacts would be much much quiter with plenty of grip but you're right, a truly quiet car is made but tires can certainly help a bit
your intro revealed (once again) the rarity of your character.true to the bone.as for the car,i agree in all especially in CVT and tires.Handling, quality, practicality are in the top of demand no matter mileage.
Thanks for the video and reviewing a more “common” car. I have an 05 v6 EX-L Accord with 221k miles. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that (specifically looking at an Accord with the top trim).
My 2013 Honda Accord has 145k miles it has a sistem too lean check engine lights which is been a headache for long time because no mechanic has found the real source of the problem. Don’t know what to do I have to do the inspection but it doesn’t want to get ready every time I go to the freeways to run it.
I also have been itching to drive a new accord (10th gen). I know I was upset when they first switched to McPherson but like with the civic I know they will make it feel better with each generation so that the chassis improvements will make the lack of double wishbones less notable. I get that profits are important for a company and good for consumers since they can reinvest it into making better and more fun vehicles. I just love seeing Honda doing well. They are just my favorite auto/engine company. Just want them to keep their passionate attitude towards making everyday cars in this rapidly changing automotive industry.
This review is what it is, I'll give it that. Apologies, I couldn't resist - I jest. This is a good review and a great, practical look at a practical bread and butter car.
Couple easy additions: add a progress sway bar, will completely flatten the car's response in turns, as the stock bar is tiny; add sound deadening treatment to the doors, trunk, and floorpan, that will cut road noise down massively. For the V6 sedan specifically: add the MDX spacer as it will increase low to mid range torque significantly (does not add peak HP) which add substantial enjoyment in day to day driving since an auto transmission always wants to shift to lower rpm's for fuel economy purposes.
I have a 2004 Accord now, my price range limits me to a 2013 or 2014 Accord, but it seems like a solid option. And good timing on your review, I’m hoping to get one in the next week or two. Just need to find one in a manual
A tuned one is amazing. My gf bought one it’s been tuned a lot we do a 7.25 0-60 warmed up. Cold it does it around 9.5. It’s fast if you feather the gas as your slamming it, it goes a lot faster instead of just pining it down. But all around great car. Put it S mode and it deff slams you back lol. Come test drive guarantee you will enjoy it
Do you all ready replace the starter or pulley tensioner on your Accord ? that is one of the weakness on this cars. , also little bit of oil consumption , need to keep the PCV valve clean or replaced ones in a while , the PCV valve it dont cost much $12- $15. other thing if you leave in the snow belt of USA the rear caliper parking brakes rusted out & is engage at all the time. is just those little things but the car is fantastic I love my Accord,
Meanwhile the 2018 honda accords have a turbo issue with blowing head gaskets.. lol great video, i might be getting one of these still thinking about it
Great review. I have exact the same car. Fuel economy is great. It handles great in mountain path. But I don't like the road noise, hash ride, hard seat, and the CVT. With 205/65/15 tire, the ride is too stiff. If I could choose again. I would buy sport version the manual transmission and swap out the struts for better ride.
I have a 2014 honda accord ex sedan its good for 550 miles on a full tank. 150k miles would have had less if my gf didnt use it for uber. Its beautiful and i love it. My brother is 19 with a 2017 convertible Camaro with 37k miles looks great and all. But he only gets 330 on a full tank. That car will be lucky if it even sees 170k miles.
Currently driving a 2001 Accord (her name is Holly and I love her) that my mom bought when she had me. Looking at buying one of these in 2022 to fit my budget...don't want to spend more than 17k on a car. Was wondering which of the Accords from 2013 to 2020 was most worth buying? Most bang for my buck kinda deal.
i’ve driven plenty of 9th gen accords like this one, and it feels very light on its feet. Both V6 and 4 cylinder. The electric powered steering is too light though compared to the 8th gen (4 cylinder) the suspension on the 8th gen feels more solid but a little bumpier. The hydraulic steering feels way better. But the i4 is so slow, with the 5 speed auto. Takes forever to rev it out to get some decent power, esp with passengers in the back it’s a dog. The 7th gen accord felt zippier than the 8th gen even though it made less power, but it also weighed way less. 8th gen is just too heavy.
@@diegomahoudeau934 Good choice. I love everything about my Accord. Very comfortable car. Never give me headache. I never worried driving far with Honda. I have the 2015 with 92k miles on it right now and it's a great car. Only thing was that at 75k miles I had the main rear seal leak and gaskets blew for some reason and cost me $1300 to fix. A couple of times backing out of my garage the engine cut off completely not sure why either. Hopefully it will hold up until 250k miles.

I'm looking at buying a 2014 for about 10k with 80,000 miles. Only thing I'm nervous about is the fact it has a cvt transmission. Has there been any known problems with the cvts on these accords?
I have a 2013 Honda Accord. With a 197000 miles on it. I change a transmission fluid every 30000 miles. I'm getting a little humming noise out of the tranny. I'm a little worried about the C VT. Transmission, I don't think I'm gonna hit 300000 on this one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I have a 2013 E. X. With 200000 miles. I'm getting a little bit of noise out of my c. V. T. But everything is shifting alright. I don't know if I'm gonna get 300000 on this car. Starter went out at a 195000. And the dry shop broke at a 197000.
Hi, does your car burn oil because it's a cvt engine? If so, how often do you need to add oil to the engine so as not to hurt the engine from the oil levels being low? If u've repaired it and fixed the oil leak problem, what did u get done and how much did it cost u to fix the oil leak issue? Plz let me know, I'm interested in buying a past fleet vehicle at a local dealership for $16k for 82k mile car...
I drive a 2014 Honda Accord sport and since it reached over 100,000 miles this January, it’s been getting problems after problems. First it was the my oil burning quicker than it normally does, the spark plugs, then the belt, recently got a new battery and died a month later and had to get a jumpstart, and now anxiously wondering what problem will be next.

I love my keyless entry moonroof and lane camera .very nice review bud keep it up👍🏻
Nice great info thank you so much for sharing my friend
I just bought a 2012 and love it! 141500 miles! $6800! My neighbor lady is the original owner of a 2000 with about 75k miles! Runs like a champ!
I had accord sport for years before i got my ridgeline. Honestly such a great car with more personality then a camry and really good gas mileage!
For sure my friend really liked driving this
Great review, my mom owns a 2013 Accord EXL and she loves it and no issues at all!
Nice!
Man your mom is a lucky one. Cause my 2013 EXL has issues galore.
@@jmc224 what issues have you had
@@Striker50_ excessive vibration (even more than what these 4cylinders normally give off), cam chain tensioner needing replacement due to a loud rattle cold start, blend door actuator giving out causing center vents to blow warmer air, ongoing alignment issues for the wheels, a/c fan not kicking in during the hot Texas summers...these are just a handful of issues I’ve come across.
@@jmc224 Sounds like a lemon or something
Got 122k on my 2013, just had a starter, wheel bearing, tensioner pulley, and cam sensor considering I used it for Ride share so a ton of stop and go but it's running strong after each repair and super easy to work on
I own a 2015 Accord Sedan Sport.
What's the difference between the sedan sport and EXL version
Drove my parents 94 Accord DX sedan when I was a teen and I loved it. Purred like a kitten. It was like the energizer bunny. It never quit.
Old School Honda was great
I currently drive a 2011 EX-L V6 and I love it!! It's very sporty and fast lol ...Recently driven my friend's 2015 Accord EX (4 cyl.) and I was surprised at how smooth it drove.
Nice thanks for sharing!
Thank You! Yes a review for us common folk! ( ha ) I had a 2015 Honda Accord Touring. I so miss that car. I traded it at 40,000 miles. It was perfect! Only ding I would give it was that it was not good in the snow here in Minnesota. I now drive an Acura RDX
Of course my friend and congrats on the RDX
Just picked up a 2014 ex. It's my first honda. Love the engine.
I love my 2014 Honda Accord EXL w/Lane Watch . Looks nicer than the newest rendition.
I totaly agree. Most reviews should be cars that the average person of average income can afford.
That's the reason I don't bother with car reviews. Don't want to waste a click.
It is nice to dream sometimes but this is the pragmatic reality so I would def like to do a few more reviews like this
I’m gonna have to say the excessive tire noise is because of those good year tires that’s on the car right now.
There’s a huge difference if you swap for some continentals or Michelin’s
I currently swapped to good year Eagle LS2 from Michelin’s primacy MXM4(factory wheels) while the mechanical grip is better, the highway tire noise is borderline unbearable
Yes definitely tires make a big difference Continentals are very quiet and offer a lot of grip all year round depending on which model you get. What year Honda do you have?
@@MeynMotorGroup have a 2011 and a 2008, so the previous generation
This is a treat. Love this generation Honda
Thanks for watching
I currently own a 2014 Honda Accord Sport model with CVT transmission and 18 inch wheels. Excellent car, no repairs, just normal maintenance at 62k miles. I keep hearing bad stories about CVT transmissions, but so far this one has been perfect!
i got the same model and year like yours. Dont worry about the cvt transmission. if you have a nissan then worry.lol I'm at 195k miles and I got it at 27k. Same engine and transmission. Just follow the maintenance minders and you'll be fine.
Accord gang 🥶
Just got this 2014 with an upgraded body to 2017 and it has 71k on it and very decent ....happy im gonna have a blast
Yeah I got a red 2011 EX coupe it’s amazing 120k miles it rides smooth
Very nice yea that's a good year I would love to hear your thoughts if you drove a 2013 and up when they made the changes to see if it is for the better or for worse
I have the 14 sport. 18 inch wheels. Love it. Handles pretty good for what it is. Amazing mpg
Yup Hondas are not the most refined in the class but yes Hyundai is very quiet
Had lots of cars honda top them all ex v6 yea
What road noise? When I drive a car, there never is. They are all the same.
@@joshuawick5382 every car makes road noise my guy. if the tires are rolling, it will produce noise. some cars make more noise than others.
Do you still have the 14 Accord?
I read there oil dilution problems with the Earth dream engines. How’s your fairing?
@@jmc224 Yeah make sense, GL with your new buy!
My Dad has a 2013 Accord LX 75k miles no problems most he had was a new starter at like 50k miles other than that regular oil changes and stuff like that and I personally like the 9th generation accord especially 2016-2017 better than the 10th generation accord.
Great info thanks for sharing!
I have 2014 EXL with 75000 miles one year owned so far. I bought it certified used at the time 39000 miles still have factory warranty until 100000. Love it so far. Will probably up grade in a few years to a 2020. V6 next time though.

I miss my 2016 accord sport. Gotta 2020 sport now and drives better. but still the last gen was so beautiful.
Appreciate that sir! And yes def a great car!
Honestly save up for the exl version because the extra luxury is worth it
Thanks for the video and reviewing a more “common” car. I have an 05 v6 EX-L Accord with 221k miles. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that (specifically looking at an Accord with the top trim).
I have not done a review on that car but I have driven an 05 but it was a 4 cylinder and it honestly drove excellent enjoy it my friend!
@@MeynMotorGroup oh, nice! I thought you’d mentioned not driving any of the previous generations. Thanks, again!
Oh sorry I was referring to the direct previous generation like an 08-12 car but yes I drove an 02 and 05 great cars
@@MeynMotorGroup no worries. I may have just misunderstood you. It’s been good to me for sure!
06 Honda Accord V-6 6 speed EX, love my Accord 268,000 miles and counting.
My 2013 Honda Accord has 145k miles it has a sistem too lean check engine lights which is been a headache for long time because no mechanic has found the real source of the problem. Don’t know what to do I have to do the inspection but it doesn’t want to get ready every time I go to the freeways to run it.
I have a 2013.Honda accord if you're Burn in any oil out the exhaust system change the PVC.
Fix my problem.
I'd go with the 2016 Accord Sport, probably the best Accord ever made.
Basically the Sport is an upgraded LX, I thought.
It is with nicer wheels and a little exhaust
Awesome video. Love how straight forward and objective you are. Does anyone know if it have a back up camera???? Thanks.
Back up camera is standard for 2013 and up! Thanks again
This is true Chassis improvements have made up for the lack of good suspension geometry
Most likely my next car. I love the body style!
This review is what it is, I'll give it that. Apologies, I couldn't resist - I jest. This is a good review and a great, practical look at a practical bread and butter car.
Debating on buying the 2013 Honda Accord or the Lexus is 350 2006-2009 as my first car, some help or advice would be appreciated!
Accord only if CVT transmission fluid has been changed at least once, otherwise stick with a 6 speed
Got a 2015 with 52k! Glad to know it will survive for a hot minute haha
Oh for sure haha
I have a 2004 Accord now, my price range limits me to a 2013 or 2014 Accord, but it seems like a solid option. And good timing on your review, I’m hoping to get one in the next week or two. Just need to find one in a manual
Same, only manual is 4cylinder sport. I love 2003 4door 4cylinder manual now at 230000 miles. Wanted by manual but not on 4 door, doh.
Come test drive guarantee you will enjoy it
I have a 2016 exl and it’s great ride’s very smooth excellent on fuel nice car and you can’t go wrong with Honda.
Do you all ready replace the starter or pulley tensioner on your Accord ? that is one of the weakness on this cars. , also little bit of oil consumption , need to keep the PCV valve clean or replaced ones in a while , the PCV valve it dont cost much $12- $15. other thing if you leave in the snow belt of USA the rear caliper parking brakes rusted out & is engage at all the time. is just those little things but the car is fantastic I love my Accord,
I had a 2014 accord sport and loved it

Just got a 2014 Accord Touring with leather and NAVI, It's a 4 cylinder, but with these gas prices, it should serve us well. Thanks
I only drive Honda and Toyota 2 of the most reliable vehicles on the planet!
Meanwhile the 2018 honda accords have a turbo issue with blowing head gaskets.. lol great video, i might be getting one of these still thinking about it
I got a 2013 accord ex with 125k & love it only drawback to me is the Cvt. I’m just not a fan of cvt transmissons but other than that the car is great
Looking at this car for a teenager. Found this review complete and helpful. Thank you and keep it up 👍🏼
Great review.
I prefer these to the 2016 model refresh
Agreed, that refresh was basically just adding more bling and trying to make it look more luxury but failed
How’s the CVT held up?
I remember my parents test driving this and I was with them and the seats and suspension were too stiff it felt like rocks, we got a 2014 Crv instead
I want one of these, but V-6. Had a 2005 Accord Hybrid, loved it one I got out some of the kinks.

9th gen Honda Accord is best Accord Ever~!!
2013/14
2.4l
Good thing I love music, the excess noise will never be a problem 🔊🔊
Manual for the win
i’ve driven plenty of 9th gen accords like this one, and it feels very light on its feet.
Thanks for sharing quality info my friend appreciate it!
